Just got an email reminding me that my D23 memberhsip is due before 12/31. I am very inclined not to renew this membership. The only thing it really got me was the quarterly magazine that I can buy at Borders if I don't renew. All, or most of the "events' take place in California and we live 3000 miles away. Also, from what I understand the events usually sell out very quickly and are frankly, too expensive for my budget. I just don't see what the D23 membership gets me that is of value, to me at least. I get more discounts, access to special events, etc. by being a DVC member and AP holder.

Any thoughts? :confused3

I'm not renewing. I haven't gotten many of my magazines and quite frankly, I'm too busy to go hunt them down. So that'll be the end of that.

I questioned it last year but did it again anyway and will probably question it again this year. There have been very few events at WDW and the ones they did have were not as frequent or as elaborate as the ones for DL area. You would think that if they have the big blow out at one place one year they could atleast alternate to the other coast the next. I guess they don't really think about those of us over here as much.

I probably won't renew. I bought the membership in September because the Destination D event was happening in Disneyland during my already scheduled trip and I just couldn't pass up the opportunity to see Marty Sklar, Tony Baxter, Dave Smith, Alice Davis, X. Atencio, Bob Gurr, etc in person (I stood about three feet away from Marty Sklar!). My membership will cover Destination D in WDW next year as well, but I don't know if I'm going. I've gotten some cool things (a D23 hoodie, the EPCOT Center patches, the Tron mousepad that came with the last issue, some pins, etc). But I don't find the magazine to be all that exciting at all; I miss the Disney Magazine. So, pretty much, I'll probably let my membership go when it's time to renew, and just purchase it again if I'm going to be in Disneyland or WDW when an event is occurring.

I did not renew this year. I got in on the first year and it wasn't worth it.

There was a Tron mousepad in the last issue? :confused3 I never got one! UGH! Makes me not want to renew even more.

Call them and complain that you never got your mousepad!! It should have come wrapped with the magazine. It's just a thin mousepad, but regular size, and pretty darn cool looking, IMO. Here's a picture of mine:

I buy it off the shelf each quarter but I was thinking of joining but now I questioning it after reading all of your responses.
