D23 Expo

Gold Family is new.
Thanks for that confirmation. Thus, isn't it contradictory to require a "Gold FAMILY" subscription in order to bring your spouse into the lounge? Doesn't the word 'Charter' imply that you've maintained the original membership?

At the time we purchased our membership (1st year), there was no need to have more than one membership per household.

I guess it depends on what you mean by "need."

When we purchased a gold membership in 2009, it was my membership. My husband could attend events as my guest, but was not a member. He could not attend member events without me.

I wasn't at this year's' Expo, but the Charter lounge in prior years operated with the same limitations: members only.

Interesting, Suzanne. In all prior years we entered the lounge together. The D23 Membership is in my husband's name purchased through my Disney Store login. (What a royal pain that has been to both purchase and renew.)

As it is, they ticked off the non-Disney-loving spouse (me) who holds the budget. I might do as I overheard others mention, "When I get home, this @&%# membership card is going into the trash." I've never liked D23 anyway.
