I don't think so but no one knows for sure. In 2015 the tickets were printed with the membership level at time of purchase and my member card was neevr checked just checked that the ticket said gold member on it.

I remember reading in 2015 that if you bought your gold membership after you bought tickets you could have your tickets changed to reflect that.

I'm afraid that this is just going to be crowded. I don't know if I can handle waking up at 4 a.m. and walking over to the convention center from my hotel every morning lol.

D23 Expo can be beyond crowded! Last year, on the one day that sold out (the Saturday), the numbers were estimated to be around 40,000 guests. So, yes, it was definitely crowded. Waiting in long lines for everything is part of the experience, and, with a good attitude, part of the fun. We met so many nice Disney fans in lines while waiting for presentations, shopping, the archives, etc.

I never did a 4 am and got into parks and resorts and disney interactive/gaming. I also did the Inside Out panel and Adventures by Disney, DVC, and Disney Cruise. The earliest I ever got in a line was 6am (my fiance said it was much much later then that probably closer to 8 he says) for the Disney Interactive panel. So you will be able to see something with out having to get up at 4am every day.

It is very crowded, and the lines are long, and that is just something you have to know and accept going into it.

This will be my first "real" convention. I have been to something similar, but it wasn't for any huge company. I assume it's like any given day at Disneyland or Walt Disney World. I'll be there alone, so I'm sure I'll start talking to the people ahead and behind me in lines. Is it smart to plan one "big" panel a day? Of course, that depends on the schedule I'm assuming. Hopefully the schedule will be released sometime soon.

One big panel is a good goal. That way if you have to overnight for the panel you want then you can go back to your hotel and rest. That was pretty much our goal last expo.

I don't think I will over night. I'll at least want to go back and get some sleep. I booked the doubletree, so it's not to far of a walk.

Yup. Welcome the basically every decent sized Con or Expo. There are no fast passes for this kind of stuff. Lines are a part of the experience. We do ComicCons all up and down the east coast with our daughter, who is an independent artist. While every Con has it's distinct features and quirks, lines are pretty much the common denominator. That and garbage food.

I think @ashley0139 is right, I believe I read about people presenting membership cards at Will Call and getting their credentials reprinted with the Gold/Silver on it.

Re: lines and crowds...make sure you watch social media, you can learn a lot before venturing out. I was at work on Thursday when the unofficial line started and monitored it.

D23 Expo does have FP for the smaller panels. Still lines though but not nearly as bad. That's how we got into the inside out panel and DA/DVC/DC panel. Basically if you have the line pass you are guaranteed a spot as long as you show back up during the time frame they give you. It is one of the better parts of the expo compared to some other cons.

The wait for the schedule of events to be released is killing me! I saw that the schedule for the 2015 Expo was released May 5th, 2015, so 3 months and 1 week before the Expo...so going off of that does anyone think we'll see a schedule released by the end of this week (or next) since we're close to hitting the 3 month mark?

How much more crowded will this make the parks? Any thoughts?

Usually not a ton during the day. More at night after the expo ends. And I think it affects it a bit the days before and after the expo, although with it being the height of summer I'm not sure it will be noticeable.

No one knows this year. Last expo the parks felt empty during the day then got busier at night but not super crowded. The Monday after the expo though was awful. Southern Cali resident APs were opened for the first time all summer that day and once 3pm hit it felt like everyone had taken a half day at work and come with their kids.

It's not a perfect system by any means, but I love the FP for panels and shopping.
