Checked into the Marriott yesterday, excellent room overlooking the convention center. I can see a line already forming, I assume sorcerers (better get down there).
Marriott checkin mentioned there are over 600 reservations checking in today (Thursday), which is half the hotel.

We have no real need to rush today as sorcerers if not going after super limited edition items. We are going to take our time and let the super shoper crowd do their thing haha.

Good plan. When I see a line forming, I feel compelled to join...

There's a new MiceAge report coming out that those attending the Parks panel on Saturday will be given a FP for Fantasmic later that night. Will be interesting to see what happens. Would the entire crowd that fits in Hall D23 fit into the viewing area? Granted, not everyone in the hall will make it over.

Ok so weekend updates. We can not take photos on the show floor today so can only give verbal updates.

Now to the updates. Every day Sorcerer will get let in first and then they will let in the rest. So GA may not get in exactly at 9am.

At DL right now and just stopped by the Mark Twain entrance. I asked the MT CM about the Fantasmic rumors this weekend. He said pretty much the above. He said Fantasmic would soft open Saturday and Sunday nights. He said that he understands that FPs would be given out at the Expo to the "Fantasmic panel". I have not heard of that panel. So maybe he meant the Parks and Resorts session. He said it would be good for either sat or sun.

Sorry if this has been asked before on this thread, I couldn't pinpoint anything, so I'm posting here. Myself and three others are going to camp out Friday night for Saturday's Live Action panel. We did the same in 2015 and it went well. SO COLD in the waiting area of Hall D23! Better prepared this year.

Question is, where can we park overnight? We aren't staying in a hotel, we want to line up at 10pm Friday, and are prepared for the sleepover. Last expo, I remember just parking right out front of the Hilton when we slept over then. No issues. Looking online, I can't find anything. I'm afraid they've cracked down more on this, hence me not finding much info online. Any suggestions? We're staying with family in Brea which is about 10mi/20min drive away from the convention center.

Uber from where you are staying unless you want to risk street parking in the area.

Does someone have a link for the disboards Facebook meetup info? I peeked on the page and didn't find it

Interesting. I talked to a CM on Tom Sawyer island this a.m. & asked about early Fantasmic previews this weekend, he said he was not sure as they'd been having problems in testing with the show stopping/getting stuck at a couple of points. Guess we will have to see what happens Saturday.

My understanding is that it has to fit in a backpack. I bought some on Amazon that fold up into 14 inches long.
That is my understanding as well, in your backpack or whatever other bag you have. I have a small roller bag smaller than a standard carry on suitcase & they said that would be OK. My chair fits inside.

I think they changed it because last year so many people left those larger folding chairs or pool floats in the hall E after the overnight waiting, there were lots of them just left on the floor or along the walls. Someone had to clean all of that mess up,

Interesting! This will be the first time the expo directly affects park ops that same day. I wonder how much of an impact it will have.
