D23 Expo September 9-11, 2022 Superthread **Updates in Posts 2 & 3**

So many people and so few slots... I'm not holding my breath but hope to be pleasantly surprised. I guess I am enough of a pessimist I'm not worried about overlapping panels personally. I just know which I would enjoy and am asking for those for now. It is unlikely I wouldn't rather use down time to shop or walk around the expo instead of sit in on a panel that is my 3rd or 4th choice, which might be why I'm blase about that part! :)

I was annoyed at how many good smaller panels are during the Hall D23 panels that I want to attend. I understand the need for having other panels during the big panels, but it looked like they were saving them for specifically during those times.
I agree. I'm a little bummed about that since I like some of those better than the other options.

I just did mine a few minutes ago, and there was practically no wait to get into the queue. I didn't realize until I read this thread that we had four choices each day. So, THANK YOU, everyone. :)

I put in for the SEA panel during Legends. If I don't get the SEA panel, then I will attend the Legends panel. The other Hall D23 panels look good, but I want to do the others too:sad:

when i try to make reservations, i get this notice that there's no attendee attached to the ID even though i'm the primary who bough the tickets. has anyone else encountered this problem??

Same issue for sure. And then trying to figure out if I should "waste" a preference slot picking one anyways.

Honestly, I'm such a huge Marvel nerd (debateable about whether more Marvel or classic Disney actually), that if I didn't get a chance to buy the VIP package (for the last two tries) and then don't get into that Hall D23 event, I'd be half-tempted to just cancel out and cut my losses. I probably won't, but...

Btw, when someone said they couldn't rebroadcast HallD23 inside the event to standby rooms... I meant to dedicated screens in other rooms. Then there's no more risk of "unreleased" scenes leaking to YouTube than there is from people recording on their phones in the main Hall D23. Just gives everyone who actually paid and traveled to Anaheim the ability to see those unreleased scenes, etc, even if they don't make it into the main hall. I've done tons of IT conferences and it's super-standard to have spillover rooms for the keynote that allow everyone to watch a closed feed from the main room.

Thanks to all of you who said that you can pick 4 choices in each category EACH day. I thought it was 4 over all three days. I went back and added to my choices. Now waiting until September 2nd to see what I got and didn't get.

I just did my reservations. I dont like that there is no overall preference ranking for the day and instead its by category. I just wish I could say Marvel panel is my number 1 please let me in 😅. I wish I knew how selection actually works. Id hate it if they didnt pick Marvel and instead picked my 6th choice for the day lol. Also they shouldve merged shop pass selections with stage pass because for example what if I want to shop at the Disney Store but they give me a time slot that conflicts with a selected panel?? Then Id have to pick between shopping and the panel.

I would much rather have a total of 4 choices per day, with the hope people might get their overall top two choices per day. If you want all from the Talent category then pick all as talent with none from the other categories. Or, as you said ; just have your choices ranked across the entire weekend, rather than per category per day.

Well I guess our fate is up to the randomizing computer gods….

Yeah I wonder if deleting other categories helps the odds or not. 🤔

LOL. Exactly my line of thinking. I want a button that says "Let me into the Marvel panel and then do whatever the heck you want to the rest of my schedule." Wish they didn't make us fight the Star Wars people for the slots. (Said all in good fun.)

Is there a separate select for Shop Pass? I haven't seen that yet? I thought it was just a virtual queue (like Rise of the Resistance, etc) where we could sign up at 6am and 1pm each day. Which... thanks Disney for making me wake up at 6am. Ugh. I am not a morning person. Bet the connectivity in the convention center exactly at 1pm is gonna suck. LOL.

It is a virtual que like you said the problem with that is that if you get in theyll probably assign you a time slot and it could conflict with a panel. Thats why I said it shouldve just been all one process.

Just wish I knew who was included in some of these panels/signings/meet&greets, would make choices even easier as I didn’t have that many choices I wanted to utilize to begin with.
I didn’t even select talent/event options for 1 or 2 days, just nothing that interested me and again not knowing who ‘may or may not‘ be at some of these things really doesn’t entice me any more to opt for them LOL.

Only had 3 selections over the weekend for hall 23.
And literally 4 selections for the rest of the stages over the weekend, with 1 I’m not even 100% on unless someone famous is revealed that could technically be a part of it but not sure if they would even show up for the panel itself.

I doubt I’ll get but 1 of my selections as my luck with these kind of things… yah…. LOL Either way I’ll have a blast as it’s my first ever Expo!!

Finally reserving, and reading through each of your observations is helpful. I wonder if the randomizer notices time conflicts and gives priority to those which do not have one.

For example say there’s a signing, DWTS panel, and then the Princess concert. Only selecting one, gives it far more priority than the others. Vs oh there’s a three way conflict, you only get your priority number pick of the bunch.

Sigh wish the Mouse communicated better but there’s an element of this with each expo. Either way the expo gods are teaching me to be flexible. 😂

Per the ticket notes: You are not permitted to bring other guests with General Admission badges into the Hall D23 Preferred Seating.

Does your family member also have a preferred seating badge? The +1 option is only for reservations made through the RSP system. So they can join you for any panel reservations you obtain for stages other than Hall D23, but they will also need a preferred seating badge in order to get into Hall D23 with you.
Yes I have 2 preferred d23 seatings passes. Both passes are in my account at the moment. So if my family member does go I just want to make sure they can go since it was never transferred.

I did a spreadsheet of all the panels and times before the selection process began. So that limited the panels that I was interested in making pics for since I saw some of them had time conflicts or it would be too close in terms to lining up. Hence why I was thinking only 3 I would be interested in. I wish they would mention who the autographs and signings will be that would better help pickings as well. Do you all think we should email them so that way they might post before selection process closes?

So according to this updated link, they've extended the reservation date? I won't be changing mine, but possibly because a number of guests are having issues?

EDIT: Other places still say the 19th, so I'd try to be done before then if you can. But they're aware folks are having trouble making reservations.
