With tickets going on sale next Thursday anybody here planning on going to the expo next year? ?I was going to do the ABD trip next year but I decided that would rather do the EXPO and WDW 40th in October and do a DIS ABD in 2012.

Hey tom when can you make reservations at Disney Land ? I want to get world of color, Blue Bayou and a character breakfast when i am out there for the expo.

Yes, we are planning on going to D23 Expo #2. We were at the first one and had a great time. Hope to fly to Hawaii from CA and see the new resort too.

Dining reservations (including WoC Dining Packages) can be made 60 days in advance. WoC Picnic Packages can be made 30 days in advance.

Was wondering if anyone had checked out the D23 2011 Expo ticket pricing yet? The multi day tickets are very inexpensive. What are your thoughts on the VIP packages. Tickets go on sale tomorrow :cool1:

I would love to get one of the packages but I can not justify the price.I think with some planning you can get yourself into the conferences you want to attend. They say there is a seat for you at all the different panels. If it's like last year. What i read they there were two going on at the same time so you would not be tacking advantage of having a seat for all.The tour and art are cool just allot of money.I am happy with the 3 day pass and making it work for myself.

I just noticed... the premier package is only reserved seating at the ARENA.... the sorcerer package is reserved seating anywhere... am I reading this wrong???

That's how I read it too. Still on the fence about the premiere package because it doesn't include entrance to the panel discussions. Then again, if 300 people got reserved seats at the panels (250 premiere + 50 sorcerer) I attended at last year's expo, they'd have taken up most of the seats. Plus, I promised my daughter she'd come next year so we're talking about $1,000 total.:scared1:

Please keep in mind that Disney did nothing to celebrate the 30th or 35th anniversary of Walt Disney World.

There have been pins released but little else.

We have not heard anything regarding any plans for a 40th celebration.

This is not to say it wont happen.

Yea Kevin I thought of that thanks. The fact of the matter is before I learned about that ABD with Marty. Was planning on the expo and promised my niece and nephew who live in San Diego When I come out for the expo I would take them to the parks with my brother and his wife. Then learned about the ABD and wanted to do that .When I called my brother to about not coming out my little niece and nephew were very upset that I was not coming out or doing the parks so my hands were tied. The ABD is very expensive as a single so I figured to start saving for 2012 and do a DIS trip then. Go to the expo with the family and hope they do something for the 40th. With Disney doing free dining then makes it even better. Those two trips do not come close to the one ABD single far as price.Sorry for the long story :)

I think you made the right choice.

Just didn't want to be disappointed if WDW doesn't do anything again this time.:thumbsup2

I haven't decided whether or not to go to next year's Expo. Based on what I saw at the 2009 Expo, I would hope they have improved crowd control issues and overall access to the panel presentations (such as maybe hard tickets for certain events and larger venues for others). I didn't care for waiting in line hours to guarantee a seat for the various presentations -- and also that certain presentations weren't repeated enough which resulted in making really hard choices about what to see and what had to be skipped. I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt that they have addressed these issues -- but will wait to buy tickets until further details are released.
