So as some people may or may not know, the tickets for next years D23 go on sale on Aug 23rd, So is anyone else planning to make the trip, Or if you made a previous trip to D23 are there any special dos and don'ts you might want to share?

I know me and the wife will be there.

I'm signing up for D23 Gold in anticipation of this one. My DD is graduating college in impressive style and without having to make those monthly tuition payments anymore I'm working the numbers on a Sorcerers Package for both of us as a graduation celebration.

So that sounds like a great Graduation Gift, just make sure you are online right when the tickets go on sale, I believe they sold out in 10 or 15 minutes last time for that Package

Serious dad brag I know, but "celebration" not "gift". Part of "graduating college in impressive style" was getting a great job in her field so she'll be paying her own way. How cool is that?

Lol no worries I stand corrected . Congrats on her getting a great job in her field. Its getting harder and harder these days for college kids to do that, so Kudos for her in achieving that.

My husband and I are planning on going. We went for the first time in 2017 and had a great time. A friend of ours had the $2000+ sorcerer ticket and liked it but I can't see us spending that kind of money on it, although it would be nice.

Honest question, did you feel like your experience would have been better or that you missed out on something because you didn’t have the package?

I’m curious because I feel unless you are hard core for merch the package seems to be geared to the merch resellers and the super crazy fans. I mean I love Disney but not every panel intrigues me

I don't really feel that I missed out on anything major by not having the sorcerer package. Before we went we made the decision not to do any of the huge panels like Live Action, Animation, or Parks. Those presentations would have been interesting but it really wasn't anything we see on the internet later. We did arrive early, before 5 am each day, and in a way that was part of the fun. We chatted with a lot of people in line with us and it made it an adventure. Would it have been nice to just stroll in? You bet, but it wasn't worth the cost for us. The only store we really wanted to do was Mickey's of Glendale (Imagineering) and the first thing we did was get a Store Pass for it.

Of the big panels we were tempted by Parks and Resorts and maybe we will plan on going next time. Overall the smaller panels, especially the Archives presentations were the big draw for us and exploring the show floor.
