D23 2015

well the blog says "Season of the Force, a new seasonal event beginning early 2016, brings new experiences to both Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resorts." and "Guests also will also climb aboard Hyperspace Mountain, a reimagining of the classic Space Mountain attraction, in which guests will join an X-wing Starfighter battle."

Assuming they are going to want to strongly tie TSMM to Toy Story Land, and trying to imagine the artist's mock-up superimposed over the actual park, I'd say One Man's Dream is toast (or moving). It looks as if everything north of TSMM and south of VOLTM in that row of buildings could be on the chopping block.

I've seen the rendering for Toy Story Land and I'm terrible at deciphering these things - Can you or anyone who has seen the rendering help me visualize? Is TSMM the rectangular building in the upper right? I can see the coaster and I'm assuming the flat oval roof with what looks like 2 flying saucers over the entrance is the Alien ride (which I'm assuming from what I've read is akin to Luigi's Flying Tires at Carsland).

The others are a little harder to say. Muppets/Mama are in prime locations and could easily be affected -- it depends on how intent they are on using the wooded area to the south, or razing the huge under-used portion of HS between Muppets and Lights, Motors, Action.

I've assumed (there's that word again) for as long as Star Wars land has been rumored, that they would go "back" from Star Tours, which would eliminate the whole Muppets/Mama area as it now exists. Mama Melrose seems to be so popular, what are the odds they could move it to (or open something similar on) Sunset Boulevard, since that area doesn't appear to be going anywhere? I'd expect some sort of QS or something in Toy Story Land, too, and it would seem like a no-brainer to relocate Pizza Planet (designed more like the movie's) there.

Personally, I'm happy with everything I've heard and looking forward to it! (Oh, and I think this puts me in - was it "Group 2" (aka "it's taking too long!"). ;)

In Tomorrowland at Disneyland park, guests will explore the Star Wars galaxy with special entertainment throughout the land, themed food locations and more. Guests also will also climb aboard Hyperspace Mountain, a reimagining of the classic Space Mountain attraction. Your right my Bad it is only DLR

Yulilin's thread says the dates and meals were announced 12/3, which is forever. At least she will start the thread up on 9/1. I will probably start the roll call thread after dates and meals are announced.
Hmmm... I was just looking back and earliest post I'm seeing is Dec 2 for dates... I saw something going back to last August that confirmed SWW would be "early summer 2015", so at least we knew for sure it was happening. Seems crazy NOT to have it given movie release, but my concern is them changing WHEN... I've tentatively booked our DVC for May 20-23 already! Lol!

Some are saying SWL will go "back" toward LMA which, you are correct, will take out Muppets and Mama. But there's also been talk that it will go the other way and take out Indiana Jones and into the parking lot. I'm crossing my fingers!

I know that the SWW roll call for 2015 started about that time in December or earlier, and the meals had already been announced. Yulilin's first page of the SWW thread said that stuff was announce don 12/3. I think it will probably go on this year. They won't have enough of the new stuff complete yet. Plus, it could help advertise the changes. At a minimum, there will be more SW stuff than now, and Rivers of Light at AK and Froway at Epcot will be open. I really hope they still do next year's events though.

As for where toy story land is going. Looking at the concept art, would it be crazy to think it might go behind where TSMM currently is. I think the building back there was costuming at one point and then looks like catastrophe canyon and some employee parking.

I wonder if they'll introduce some SW elements like the new fireworks in "early 2016" and then extend those through June and have regular SWW May-Jun??

Just shows how subjective all of this is! I am THRILLED with everything I heard in the parks live stream -- all of it! And I can barely remember what's been "lost" already.

Except if we lose Muppets. While we don't even go to it every trip, there is a nostalgia about it.

But I admit I'd trade it in for SW Land in a heartbeat as someone who has wanted to walk into a SW film since 1980!! :)
I probably just overreacted hoping to hear the whole remodel. Still worried for Muppets and One Man's Dream

The costuming and props building that were part of Back lot I'm pretty sure are being emptied now. Next to those building was the LMA practice yard. Both of these will be gone and that is the space Toy Story Land will take up. I don't expect them to tear down the big employee parking garage tho.

Thank you.

Well, my original look at the rendering is all wrong, because if what I thought was TSMM really is, then Toy Story land is all in the middle of the park and overriding GMR, and we know that's not right...

I always said DHS had the most confusing layout of the parks, and I think that's making it even harder for me to figure out. I'm still hoping someone can say for sure what building on the rendering is TSMM. OK, so there's a square-ish building on the left side about halfway up - is THAT it, and everything else is behind it? Or are we looking at the whole thing upsidedown and backwards? My brain hurts.

OK, I am starting to think that the building on the left edge IS TSMM, and the "Woody's Town" area (that's how I'm interpreting it) is kind of where the animation building is. ??? bmwdw, I think you're right.

Found this... from Dec 2nd, 2014: "today, we’re unveiling the dates for next year’s Star Wars Weekends" http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/bl...-to-disneys-hollywood-studios-may-15-june-14/

Honestly, right now I'd just love if they confirmed that SWW would be May-Jun-ish -- I don't need exact dates!! :rotfl:

It sounds like to me they're basically going to do SWW on both coasts, but instead of it just being on weekends, it's going to include weekdays, too. After SWW this year, we received a HUGE in-depth survey that included a lot of questions about why we went to SWW and whether we were going to Disney JUST for SWW (which we were). Because we all know this construction is going to take forever--and even if they start now, it's going to be at least 3 years--so they need SOMETHING to keep the Star Wars momentum in the parks. By Star Wars having a seasonal presence from say April to June (i.e., Spring Break to Summer vacation) they'll give guests a reason to go to Disney during a traditional slower time, and it won't cost anything other than staffing if all they do is have characters run around.

As for the restaurant situation...I picture Pizza Planet to close and become a Star Wars-themed CS and/or lounge and Mama Melrose to become a Star Wars-themed TS. Who knows which will be the Cantina, but I gotta tell you that the Rebel Hangar was definitely the highlight of SWW for us this year and hopefully they're going to take that concept and make it a permanent addition.

:thanks:@rteetz - Awesome job with keeping the first post current and providing all the links.
Thanks. It hasn't been updated since the parks and resorts panel because I haven't been near a computer but as soon as I am it will be updated.

I wouldn't doubt it. Rumors have been that the current street you enter TSMM on will become backstage and the entrance to TSMM will be reworked for this.

We need one of @Robo 's maps! But I'm not sure if there is enough real information to be able to make one yet. Love Robo's maps ... makes the directionaly challenged (like me) happy.
