D23 2015

Love both Gigantic and Moana's new artwork. I wonder if those are official or someone managed to take pictures of the presentation.

I was there, security was tight. They were scanning the crowd with some kind of green light.

Sorry just coming back here...

I'm surprised about "Coco." Thought it got the ax because of Book of Life. Last we heard about it was whenever they was a big uproar of trying to copyright "Dia De Los Muertos" plus assuming how Rio put in the final nail for Newt's coffin I thought Book of Life and that Uproar shut it. Hmm

Secondly, the name "Gigantic"? I was fine with "Tangled", I was fine with "Frozen", heck I was fine with "Brave" (as a naming choice, the movie itself is a different story). "Gigantic" is now on my list of "Dumbest 'Let's Get on the One-Titled Movie Bangwagon' Naming Convention" along with "Epic" and "Home". Should've just kept it as "Giants"

I'm not so sure about Good Dinosaur just yet... From what I've read, I feel like they are throwing every possible curve at you to make you emotional. Pixar is usually pretty good at doing precisely that , but with how troubled this film has been since the beginning, I'm afraid that many of these last minute additions are going to feel a bit forced. I'll be happy to be proven otherwise.
Took the words right out of my mouth, almost. I thought I almost spoiled it reading the live blogs but as it were going on it got me thinking "Are they trying to be emotional here? Are they trying to make sure this gets the Animation Oscar and not Inside Out?"

I agree. Giants sounds much better. They might've changed the title for copyright issues though, especially for merchandising purposes. The New York Giants are an example of a brand that wouldn't be happy with Disney registering the word Giants. Similar reason behind Day of the Death changing its title to Coco. Additionally, they probably wanted to distance their film from the recent live action Jack and the Beanstalk, so I'm sure they avoided that title on purpose.

Yeah. Pixar can make you feel emotional very easily, and that's something I really appreciate about their films. But when reading the description of this particular film, I just felt that they just tried too hard to find lots of emotional situations to throw around and hope they can make the audience connect with them and feel emotional themselves. As I say, that's not necessarily a bad thing, but does every Pixar film really have to make you cry? I hope my opinion on this film changes once we get some more footage.

Based on was said in the dis update number 2. The animation Pixar uses in the good dinosaur is something on a whole new level. Craig in the video said the animation didn't even look animated it looked real except for the characters.

No doubt about that. Even their worst film to date, Cars 2, has some really stunning animation.
