D23 2015

I so have to get to one of these one day. Not sure if I can make 2017, but I'm definitely going in 2019. Who's with me!!
I was supposed to go to this one but school interfered. I have decided 2017 is it. A graduation present to myself. :cool1:

I'm in for 2017! I've been stalking all the info today instead of working. I don't even feel a little bit guilty about it.

Agreed, the third Hobbit movie was a joke, you could tell the actors were trying to do the best with what they had but the script and excessive use of green screens was just terrible. It's no wonder Ian McKellen broke down crying on set.
It sounds like the use of green screens in this case couldn't be helped. Ian McKellen explained:
“In order to shoot the dwarves and a large Gandalf, we couldn’t be in the same set. All I had for company was 13 photographs of the dwarves on top of stands with little lights – whoever’s talking flashes up,” he said. “Pretending you’re with 13 other people when you’re on your own, it stretches your technical ability to the absolute limits.”

Here is a video of more pandora stuff and Jon Landau pretending to be a ACE guide

The Rohde cameo wins the day. I'm wondering if they're going to completely avoid the conflict of the movie, or if they'll show up doing bad things in one of the attractions. It wouldn't be in the spirit of DAK to just have nothing but fluff.

I might have missed this but what time is the 90 minute presentation tomorrow?

I actually liked the first one, though I found REALLY dissapointing to see that it was all green screen. Same goes for the Hobbit movies. Like seriously, why can't they build beautiful sets like they used to.

This is what has won me over to Star Wars Episode 7. At Celebration, Abrams said people want more realistic effects, like the originals, with less green screen/CG and more real sets. That's why he chose to shoot in Tunisia and other countries again. I think it could end up being incredibly awesome.

Sounds like damage control to me, they didn't seem to have a problem with it in Lord of the Rings, the real disgrace, I thought, was when they completely CGIed Billy Connoly.

Orlando Bloom looked strange too. In spite of all of this I still liked the movies. I LOVED Smaug.

Sorry for veering off topic! I'm loving checking in here to see what's going on.

Oh well...

Hey, last expo someone posted the highlights of both Animation and Studios presentation, so hopefully we'll get something.
