D23 2015

Joe Rohde and Jon Landau will be part of the Parks and Resorts segment tomorrow. Likely we get more avatar details.

I really like the Avatar model. It's a bit difficult to see the little details with all the trees and vegetation, but it still looks like a very rich/lush environment. Hopefully they'll give us more little details in the presentation.

It's been rumored for a while but Kevin Klose of The Dis says we may be hearing about the two new cruise ships tomorrow. Also says a second Caribbean island. I mentioned earlier this year that I had been hearing of a project happening on a Caribbean island...

Great news! Total park redesign, two new cruise ships/new island, new parking structure DL, SW/Marvel at DL, HKDL new park, Paris refurb, new Shanghai work likely. Every part of their empire is being touched.

Awesome!

It's pretty cool you learned about that... The new island seems well founded.

Bob says this will be the biggest and best D23 yet. He says he has the happiest job in the planet. He has seen the Star Wars film already. They will be showing previews for beauty and the beast live action, marvel films, and more.

Deb Wills periscoping the avatar booth right now. Love the "travelogue" intro. And Joe Rhode just happens to be in the booth. :)

Edit: She just signed off...

I honestly don't see this movie doing to well, I think the first was riding on the coat tails of new 3d technology in IMAX.

I actually liked the first one, though I found REALLY dissapointing to see that it was all green screen. Same goes for the Hobbit movies. Like seriously, why can't they build beautiful sets like they used to.

I guess the sequel will be fine. However, as far as I understand, Burton is not directing this one, so we'll see how faithful this is to the original concept.

Agreed, the third Hobbit movie was a joke, you could tell the actors were trying to do the best with what they had but the script and excessive use of green screens was just terrible. It's no wonder Ian McKellen broke down crying on set.
