Okay, I'm on Facebook today. On my profile info, I mention how much of a self-proclaimed Disney addict I am. A couple of friends of mine that I know from high school have emailed me in the past couple days wanting help planning their Disney vacays. Of course, I am so excited to help! I have to get my Disney fix any way that I can. ;)

So then I get the "Become a fan of The DIS" message and of course I accept. We all know that it is the coolest FB page to be a fan of!:thumbsup2
Then I get two messages from other friends of mine. One says "You are such a NERD!!! I love you... too funny! I also think it's cute!" and the other one says "I am going to call you D-Squared.. Disney Dork, hahahaha". I know they are kidding and are just doing this in jest, but at the same time, it's kind of rude.

Why can't people just mind their own business sometimes? :p Sorry that I love all things Disney - it totally brings happiness and pixiedust: to my life. And the funny thing is, one of those women has been to Disney with me and appreciates all the planning and knowledge I have of Disney.

Does anyone else every have this problem w/ non-Dis'ers or non Disney fans? I usually don't let things like this bother me, but for some reason it has just rubbed me the wrong way. Thanks for letting me mini-rant. I guess I'm just looking for validation and reassurance. :wave2:

Yes, I have the same problem. I like to bring up their addiction and say I don't call you names when you do ____. Why do you say such things to me?

Usually shuts them up.

I would just crush them! pirate:

I battle this problem as well. Fortunately, my immediate family is also addicted (the addiction is genetically based, I think).... but it makes me nuts when people say something like, "Don't you know how to vacation anywhere else?" or "It must be so boring to always go to the same place." Somehow, it seems to suggest there is something wrong with me... that I lack the creativity or intellectual spark to go elsewhere... They don't seem to be capable of accepting the fact that a Disney vacation can, in fact, be new every time and can satisfy a variety of vacation needs.... So, you're not alone in feeling frustrated!! At least we all have each other!!:grouphug:

Oh, I take great pride in being a Disney Dork! I'd just say "Thanks!"

Mindy has it right - I'm proud to be a Disney (and DIS) fan. :thumbsup2
