D-Day Invasion- "Strange"-ly Imminent!! TRIP REPORT IS UP!!

The names we called my daughter in the tummy were Skeezicks and Boofers, out in the real world she had so many nick names I thought to finally ask her if she knew her name! :rotfl: She knew, thank God! Monkey was for sure one she was called a lot (calling her this brought about her first sentence by the way), Poo poo, Kissy was her first (cute story behind this one), Little bug, Bug, Mackie (since her name is Mackenzie), she has about ten in all.

:goodvibes Glad she knew her real name. :thumbsup2

Speaking of Jack Sparrow....When I was at Costco the lady ahead of me was paying for her things and the cashier asked..."Is the Pirates Booty all your getting today?" (It's some sort of snack in a bag) And before I even thought about it for two seconds I said..."The only Pirates Booty I better be getting is in the form of Jack Sparrow." The look on both of their faces along with my children was something like this... Then! My son said something like "Way to be quick on the draw mom!" I thought of this for you TarzansKat when you mentioned your 10,000th post. :goodvibes
When are you due again? Your ticker isn't behaving for me to see.

I LOVE IT!!!! :lmao:

And I had the baby on July 26. :goodvibes

This is great Maroo!!!
We hardly ever have to rent cars, but I'm wondering how in the world you got such good favor in this area! :goodvibes

[\QUOTE]

I personally always use Alamo...because I can usually get the best deal there and they have a self serve kiosk so you don't have to wait in line. :)

This time I used three different codes - one I got from www.mousesavers.com - they have GREAT car rental coupon codes. I also used one I got from the DIS transportation (or was it budget??) board and I used a code I got from southwest so I could get credit for it. It only worked if I got a midsize car - I usually go economy, but it will be nice for the lovely ladies to have a bit of extra room. :goodvibes

Your such a good friend to think of them that way. I'm gonna have to keep you in mind the next time we need to rent a car! :goodvibes

:goodvibes Glad she knew her real name. :thumbsup2

You and me both!! I actually had one of those scare you to death jolts as the thought came to me she may not know her real name after the couple of years of calling her all these nick names! :rotfl:
Praise God she knew!! She was my smart little monkey! Now she's my big smart girl....no literally, she's 5'6 and half and she's only 11. I'm hoping to see some scholarships in her near future if she keeps growing like this!

I LOVE IT!!!! :lmao:

Ooooooh. Congrats to you!!!! I bet the little one is keeping you hoppin!!
I knew you would love the story. :goodvibes

So..... how did you handle the heat? Any suggestions?

Last year I did AM in the parks - went back to the resort about 1:00 PM and took a shower and then went back to the parks each evening. I took 2-3 showers a day. :upsidedow

Liesa doesn't have that much shower time banked in the schedule. :rotfl:

me too!!!

I'm so rooming with you when we go to the Peeps fest. I'll have someone to take breaks with!
By the way....when you drive your car to the parks, do you have to pay for parking when your staying on property? I've always used the bus so I don't know the drill with this.

Ok...

Now...just a warning...

This pre-trip report you are reading right now came about because we were doing just like this on someone else's pretrippie...

So....if you are serious......I am just sayin'...it could happen!

:thumbsup2

Looks great to me!!!! Can't ask for much better than that for the 1st week of September! :thumbsup2

True! Not too much rain and no major washout days!! :) We can deal with the heat. :thumbsup2

Oh...and parking...

you don't have to pay if you stay onsite or if you have an AP. I usually do both...but even if I am off site, I have my AP. :) Parking is expensive.

Seriously fine by me! :goodvibes I think we would make good roomies, your not worried about what you think you need to do and neither am I when it comes to what others are thinking (at least I try to be ). I'm a true go with the flow kinda gal and do my thing when I need to, it will be nice to know someone else is along doing the same thing. :upsidedow Oh, but I'll warn you, I've been told by my family I snore at times. :guilty: But I've also been told I don't do this all the time, especially if I take my allergy meds. :teeth:

So when you have a rental car, do you use it to go to the parks the whole time or do you use it some and bus it on other occasions?

Here's a strange question for y'all.....

After looking at the weather page that Maroo so nicely turned us on to, I've been wondering about....Us being in WDW May '07 and there being a lady on the plane who said there was a drought happening in Fl., all I remember seeing the whole time we were there was body's of water every where we went!

:confused3 As much as it rains there, how is it possible to be in a drought there!

Oh yeah...we gotta talk about rooming on that June trip!!!! :) Sounds like fun! :)

For this trip, I only plan to use the car when we are going to Cirque, maybe? Or Hoop Dee Doo - where we would have to take a bus from our resort to a park and then a boat... Does that make sense? Any time we need to use two modes of transportation to get anywhere.

Of course...I have that stinking wheelchair with me...so that is going to cramp our car style...I am going to just have to hobble when we use the car. But I will be going to eat or something where I won't walk long on those times.

Oh...I totally remember this. They were talking about the drought being so bad that the big lake in the middle lost so much of it's depth that they were finding things that had been buried forever ago. It really was bad, from what I recall. And this was before I was a Disney nut.

I think I said, "Come h*ll or high water, I am coming to see you anyway!"... Well, both h*ll and high water came. :sad2:

So YOU'RE the one to blame for Hurricane Katrina. They've been looking for somebody.:rotfl: But seriously, I've never been to NO but I want to even more now, to help revive the place. Those people survived unspeakable events.

Late breaking-- super mondo, MOST excellent, REALLY GREAT NEWS!!!

We just got back from the houseboat, and picked up the mail....

ANDREW IS QUALIFIED by the DODMERB (Dept. of Defense Med. Examiners Reivew Board) for the ROTC Program. Now all he has to do is pass his PT test and can start collecting his stipend and get "contracted"!!!

WOOT!!!

If you'll recall earlier, we were a bit worried about this because of his past history of childhood asthma. Apparently, being overseas and not really ever seeing a doctor, was ON HIS SIDE!!! His test is IN THE MORNING- if he passes a 2 mile run in 15 minutes, many push-ups, and many more sit ups, then it's in the bag. 6:20 AM is the test!

Makes total sense, after going to CSR this last time I'm wondering if getting a rental would be in my future. I loved this resort, but I dind't love standing for long periods of time at the end of the day to get finally get on a bus. We would see several go to other resort stops but it would take for ever before ours would come. :sad2: Of course it could have been the time of the year we went, I don't know. :confused3

A few lessons from the lake:

1) Tubing is the best way to give one a wedgie.

2) There is no such thing as "enough" soda/pop/coke for 9 kids and 9 adults. We had 3 coolers- gone.

3) Some kids are built to ski, some are not. Likewise for adults.

4) You can't put sunscreen on enough times to really make a difference.

5) I could get very used to living the high life of having an 83' houseboat.

6) 17 people on one boat for 4 days is way FUN, but way, way exhausting.

Sounds like you had a blast. I told Rosie to give you a hug for me when she sees you in DC.

WELL WELL WELL... look who decided to stop by.... her own thread! :lmao::lmao:

Hi Camille!! We had such a great time with my family!! And it was such a delight to come home to this news!!! Tuition is due today (which is over) and I had stopped by the admin building before we left to ask about paying late and waiting to hear from DODMERB. They waived the $100 late fee which would have been assessed, because I had thought we wouldn't know for at least 2 more weeks. Now it's all in his court. He has until November to pass this physical fitness test.

Yes, it IS odd to be posting and have people respond right away!!

What wonderful news, Liesa. Keep us posted. And go get it Andrew!

Isn't it great??!!! I am so happy for him!

Sounds like you had a blast. I told Rosie to give you a hug for me when she sees you in DC.

YES! I will definitely give Rosie a hug for you!! Wish you could join us!! I just made the ressies tonight first thing when I got home- so those are done, all you DC-ers! 12:15-12:30 or so at The Daily Grill, and 7:15 at MonAmiGabi!

WELL WELL WELL... look who decided to stop by.... her own thread! :lmao::lmao:

Ha!! I know, it's really hit and miss these days!! In and out, in and out. Tomorrow, I get to get my hair done- remember, I'm going red! :cool2:

Remember those warnings Marv gave us about the ropes??.... yeah, I have a nice rope burn, and am lucky to have my head still attached.... more in the TR.

And my other son, Zach developed an absess in his gum that we need to have looked at.

We'll know around 8:00 about Andrew's PT test.

Hi Liesa,

What great news about your son - I'll be wishing him a great PT test in the morning!!!

Sounds like you had a wonderful time at the lake!

Have a wonderful day at the salon tomorrow! I can't wait to see the red hair! I had my hair done last week - I was thinking about you as I sat in the chair wondering what color to go for - but I ended up just getting some highlights - however I did cut quite a few inches off - very liberating!

I'm so excited to finally get to meet you!! We are all going to have such a great time! :yay::yay:

So YOU'RE the one to blame for Hurricane Katrina. They've been looking for somebody.:rotfl: But seriously, I've never been to NO but I want to even more now, to help revive the place. Those people survived unspeakable events.

It was so horrible. Even up here...2 hours north of the coast...Most of my friends had no power for at least a week, some folks two weeks. I didn't get cable back for 4 weeks after the storm. We missed all of the news coverage during and right after the storm, because we didn't have any power.

Life changed for so, so many people 5 years ago this week. We have been talking about it a lot here in MS - the attention was on New Orleans on the news, because there was not much to "show" here in MS, not nearly the drama. But we lost our entire coast and a lot of our economy. We had great leadership that got us back up and going fairly quickly, but it was still awful.

We give chemotherapy in our office and we had dozens of new patients with no medical records, no insurance cards, no pain meds and no clue what they needed...but they were due for their chemo and we barely had power (hospital was running on a generator - so no air conditioning, just the basics), many of our homes were damaged and the patients had lost everything. It was such a crazy time. I spent lots of time calling insurance companies and getting THEM to send ME the claims for a patient so I could "backwards" code them and figure out what drugs they needed. It was surreal.

We have been looking back over the past few days here and all talking about where we were when it hit and how much life has changed since then.
