D-Day Invasion- "Strange"-ly Imminent!! TRIP REPORT IS UP!!

All caught up on what I missed of your TR over the weekend. Can't wait to hear the updates, about your miracle and see the pics that will start to flow in!:woohoo:

Glad I got back in time to put in an answer to the latest question. Not having time for even my usual minimum research on this one, I'll just have to take a shot in the dark (or would that be light since we have to use white for our answer) and say based on your "retro-switcheroo" to JetBlue and your increased price justification because of more reasonable flight time (and free coffee mouching off of your sister), a free checked bag, free seat choice (a recurring theme here it seems) and a non-stop flight where you are lulled into thinking "no lost bag" is a likely scenario, I have to say that "AirSuckyTran" is the answer to the question!

See, I told you the research was minimal!!!

Here's your first live update straight from the field!!

With the usual amounts of MASSIVE drama when our family travels, we have arrived safely in the Big City. We enjoyed worshipping with several other families who regularly gather together on Sundays, but are dead tired.

You will be absolutely stunned and amazed at the INCREDIBLE miracle we were blessed with today. I'll give you a teaser, and tell you that it involved someone literally RUNNING across the tarmac for us!

And I captured some REALLY fun shots along the way that I can't wait to include in our TR!!

Until Next Time....

I'm sitting here with a grin on my face...I can only imagine! God never, ever, EVER ceases to amaze me with his beautiful (and INCREDIBLY CREATIVE!) orchestration of our lives. Sometimes it just makes you sit back, laugh and say "Wow!" I'm guessing it was one of those moments....! I look forward to hearing all about it!!!

Glad you have made it to the Big City and all is going well!

I wouldn't exactly say it's going "well". There have been more than a few bumps along the way. :headache:

I know I missed a bunch over the weekend but I've gotten the jist following your FB updates and such. I'm not eevn going to try and catch up on all the banter I missed. Hope the family is feeling better! Is it just a stomach bug?

I missed you... You were online just when Katharina and I watched Toy Story 3.

The start of your trip sounds exciting!! I am glad that the potential disaster turned into a miracle! How wonderful!! Just a few more hours until you will board that plane to Frankfurt from the Big City and tomorrow at that time you will most likely already strolling the streets of Nuremberg. :thumbsup2

EDITED TO ADD: Hi!! you just came online it seems!!! Have a safe journey on your next leg!! Will see you soon! Letter to Hotel Elch has been posted and should wait for you there!!!

Hey, say "hi" to Magdalene and Katharina for me. ;)

:goodvibes

Magdalene please post when you hear from Leisa.....I'll worry about them until I know she is safely in Germany.

Hi Jen! Only 3 hours before we load the van and head for the airport! DH kept dinner down, so things are looking up. :thumbsup2 Keep checking FB...I seem to be using that more right now.

Yes, 3 hours! I have the kids down for a couple hours of rest, then we'll all head out. After one last shower. :goodvibes I"m looking forward to hunting down butterkuchen!

Juliana! I love your traveling party you threw for us!

Sorry, it worked out that all the action happened yesterday- but I only gave a teaser.... the full blown story is yet to be told!

I promise drama!

Of course, I will!

We will meet on Wednesday, at 3:40 pm, that's 9:40 am Eastern Time. I think I might be able to post a short note from my phone before we explore the cellars of Nuremberg. Otherwise expect something later that day!!

Again, thank you so much for posting as you can!! I doubt we'll have time or want to step into an internet cafe while seeing lovely Nuremberg! ;)

sweet i had those 4 thats 4 points for me.

4 points for Dan- but, this one you were not so lucky on. :lmao:

Yes, someone was running around on the tarmac. That's all I'm saying.

cliffhanged. :faint:

Months? surely you jest- It could take YEARS! :rotfl2::lmao:

I hope you write good notes too. You promised to write chapters for it too. ;)

And I think I still need to get in my last answer: Airtran

Great guess! :yay:

Just checked, looks more like you can see Alice in Wonderland... :confused3 TS3 ought to be seen on the big screen anyway, it is a lovely film!! :goodvibes

GREAT!!! Thanks for checking that! Alice in Wonderland has had a long run on Lufthansa- my kids saw it when they flew back on June 13th! :lmao:

Doesn't matter- Johny makes me drool!

Oh Liessa the departure from the BIG CITY is getting closer !!!! Can't wait till you can fill us in onall the details !!Till then Magdalene will have to keep us posted !! I mean How will we know you made it to Nurenburg safely!!!!:worship::worship:

I think a journey through my thoughts is appropriate as we near the commencement of the 2nd Leg of our Journey....

I am MORE than ready to be ON THAT PLANE!! Our phone continues to ring incessantly from our former city--- people wondering why there are only 5 stools instead of "6" that we sold them (there never were 6!); what is the LOWEST price we'll sell the house for; how do you use the water filter; blah, blah, blah. We finally had to take the SIM card out and go unplugged!

My Tylenol PM is stashed and ready- I really want those 7 hours to sleep!! I hope it works like a charm! The kids are ANSTY to get in the car; of course, they are NOT sleeping the 3 hours I had hoped they would before having to wait at the airport until 3:00 to board. :scared1:

I still need my shower- the next one I get will be AFTER we see the castle, the Toy Museam and several chruches! And I'm happy to say, my feet look like a million bucks, and I even shaved (for the benefit of Glennbo and Dan, I am ETA the words "my legs and pits") for the ocassion! ;)

I realized, I should have called the Elch Hotel to confirm our reservation, but didn't. Hopefully, there will be no further drama. And don't forget... we had a little train ticket snafu.... will our family get through that okay?? Or will be be turned out onto the tracks??? Stay tuned!

Until Next Time....

YEs! Very close! The driver will be here in a couple hours, and off we'll go.

You have to shave your feet? :scared1:

Sorry to hear that the drama is following you to the Big City. Sounds like that visit to Nuremburg is going to be a much-needed pleasant oasis along the journey.
