D-Day Invasion- "Strange"-ly Imminent!! TRIP REPORT IS UP!!

Sorry to hear about your mishap, and that you're in pain.

I am on a preventative antibiotic, but the more pressing concern is Tetanus. So, I will have to go to the local clinic in the AM for a shot. I am now praying they will not force me to check in for a series of shot in my butt for 10 days. PLEASE pray with me about this!!!

I'm praying that you get the best medical care available, whatever that may be. Hee hee hee.

So, here I am. It hurts to type, really. So, I think I won't do a long update for a while. Depends on how it heals up. I imagine it'll be bruised for a few days. :confused3

Do you get a lot of sympathy from your family when you ask them to take a picture of you to post on your Disboards thread? I'm thinking that they think, "Okay, she's all right. She's posting again."

Hey, is that my signature I see on your computer screen? :woohoo:

Sorry about your hand. Hope the puppies arrive safe and sound.

I've got to ask. Is that a basket of drugs on your bed?

Glennbo and I must think alike...I was thinking only a DISer would have someone take a picture like that.....

Hope you don't have to get shots...

It was your graduation update that almost made me regret not having kids...ALMOST.

I bet you'll be a gooey mess when Erin, Dylan, and Ashlyn graduate....or get married....or have kids......

Liesa!!! Your hand!!:scared1:
I just have one question....why would the clinic make you check in for 10 days of shots? I'm just guessing here, but I bet the hospital there isn't somewhere you would want to stay..

I can't imagine how going to a sanitorium to be sweated, flogged and poked could possibly do any good....did the workers have a choice in wether they went?

Oh Liesa, it just goes from bad to worse back to bad and back to worse. Bad pup...you were only trying to help. Feel better soon, and I hope you don't have to have all of those awful shots.

They assure me that I can really only go in and get the tetanus shot and be free to leave. I will go tomorrow and see what happens.

Yes, that was a basket of drugs on the bed. We have a stash of first aide stuff, and a few things you can't get here like tums, good allergy pills, etc....

Ha! No, no extra sympathy from ANY of them. DISing or no. Posting or not.

My hand is pretty swollen, so I"m trying to type with one hand.

I'm glad they said you are free to leave after the Tetanus shot - they better be true to their word!!

I already posted on FB - glad to hear you are okay! Good luck with the shot tomorrow! I thought the same thing about the photo - only a DISer makes sure he/she gets photos of everything! Should I be scared that I think like Glennbo and Jordy? ;) Hang in there! And I hope you get better soon - we need more updates on this crazy saga of yours!

Ouch! Sorry to hear about the dog bite. I guess we can wait for your recovery before another long update. ;)

Oh Liesa!!

That is horrible!

Lauren, Lisa and William and I are all here....We are all praying!

I love how you have a glass of wine in hand. Nothing better than that to soothe the pain!

I also love how, no matter how much pain you may be in, close to fainting, you are still trying to post on the DIS. Now that's dedication.

Get well soon

Next time, bite back ;)

Sending lots of thoughts an prayer! I hope your hand will be less swollen when you wake up and the tetanus shot will be not painful at all and quicky done with! :goodvibes

And don't worry about being fit for typing updates!

Hi Liesa,

I hope your hand is feeling better this morning and hope everything went well at the clinic with the tetanus shot.

I was patient and did wait for the second part! What a lovely party! :goodvibes

For how long did Andrew attend this school, just the last year or for longer? The other kids are being homeschooled so far, aren't they? Have any of them ever attended a real school? And will they once you get back to the US? Homeschooling isn't an option here in Germany at all. All kids must attend a formal school, so this is always something interesting to me, because it's differnt from what we are used to. :goodvibes

I am glad that there are even things which Blankistan does better than WDW (balloon prices!:thumbsup2) and one which can go both ways (kids;)).

Isn't it against your law for people to homeschool there?

What an emotional, adorable way to end an era! It's SO hard to move on. Don't go see Toy Story 3 now. You'd bawl your eyes out. That is... if you have any eyes left to bawl

TELL ME ABOUT IT!! Between reading about Andrew's graduation, just coming off of my son's and seeing ToyStory3 again with my son next to me holding my hand (to comfort me) I'm a total flippin mess right now!!! <--- This sums it up nicely.

What a great reward for the long journey taken. What joy to see your baby become the man that our Father created him to be. What sadness to know that things will never be quite the same. Time to let him go and release him completely into His hands now.

love you liesa.

 Please I beg of you....STOP!! I can't take any more! Love you Jordy. :thumbsup2

What an emotional roller coaster!! I'm only reading about it and I'm a mess!

You said it sister!! You'll understand all to soon, and then we'll be here for you.

DH went to Poland for duty a few years ago. He said the people were still not used to being free, and they spoke in hushed tones, always looking around and not making eye contact, as if they were afraid to really live! :sad2:

Imagine the spiritual ties needing to be broken there. Wow, Yikes! :scared1:

Your love for it shows everyday in how hard you fight for those patients! :worship:

::yes:: I couldn't have said it better Liesa. We love you Maroo. :goodvibes

I've heard over and over about TS3. Guess it's a real tear jerker. I saw UP just after my grandma passed away last June, and I don't think I had cried so hard in years. Kinda bad (or good- depending on how you look at it) timing.

OMGosh! The UP reference, just when I thought I could come up for air, you remind me of a movie I bawl my eyes out with when I watch it.
TS3 got me most when they showed the mom looking around Andy's room for a last look around and the walls were very close to what I painted on my baby boy's walls when he was a small boy. I totally lost it!!! Especially with him sitting next to me this time holding my hand, all I could do was think of me walking into his room on the day we take him up to College Station (yes that's the name of the town where he will be going to college in a short couple of months-I swear) and being gob smacked by the idea of him not being here everyday.....any more. OK! I'm done in....need to go get a tissue, my shirt is throughly soaked at the top and I need something dry now.

So thankful we were born in a free country!

I'm all caught up now. Your trip is excruciating! I loved the graduation ceremony and party. Looks like a wonderful group of kids! It is hard to let them go, but you've done a great job, so trust God, then tell me how!:goodvibes

Ditto!

I think Maroo is right - you may need to write a book one day! The way you all face each challenging obstacle head on and find solutions instead of dwelling on the problems always impresses me. Maybe when you move back to the States you should teach a class on facing real obstacles and adversity around the world! I know a few people who could use that lesson - LOL!
Shoot! I think she could actually teach classes on this!

I just saw TS3 and it was great! You will definitely need a box of tissues if you have a child going off to college, moving out, etc. It made me want to freeze Jordan and never let her grow up!

Looking forward to the continued saga!

Do it! Do it now Jen, your gonna blink and it will all be over with before you know it. Drink in every single second, you won't regret it.

Oh no!! I hope you will recover quickly.

However, I am amazed about you! You nearly pass out and then you start posting here on the DIS with a fully fledged update with pictures of wounds and of you recovering with some interesting red medicine (which looks suspiciously like wine)... :goodvibes

Lots of well wishes!

Flossbolna, you crack me up...."looks suspiciously like wine."
So sorry about your hand Liesa. :guilty: I pray it heals quickly!

I bet you'll be a gooey mess when Erin, Dylan, and Ashlyn graduate....or get married....or have kids......

::yes:: Oh yes he will. ::yes::

Oh Leisa! I can't believe all the drama you are experiencing! Praying for a quick heal for your hand and no infection! Do you have puppies?

1) This is being typed with one hand.

2) 7 puppies, we think, have arrived.

3) Getting the tet. shot at the clinic was nearly as traumatic as getting bitten.

4) Yes, that was wine. Seriously, that was the first time ever I've had wine for pain relief; ibuprofen was a joke.

5) iam thankful I don't have to have rabies series! They almost insisted. More on that when i can type better....

Love you ALL!!! Life sucks right now. that is all.

Oh, Liesa this really did not get any better. :scared1: I am so sorry. I guess sitting in a civilized country one cannot really imagine that getting something simple like a tetanus shot can be really nasty in a developing country!

I had been thinking about the rabies thing yesterday and I guess you are really lucky that you know the dog which bit you and know that this is nothing you need to worry about. Rabies is such a dreadful illness! :scared1:

It really seems like all these small (and larger) catastrophies really need to end one day for you! Being in pain is such a useless thing. :headache: I hope the knowledge about your WDW trip not being in the distant future anymore will help you to get through this and is at least a small comfort!

I will pray for a speedy recovery!

:hug::hug::hug:
