D-Day Invasion- "Strange"-ly Imminent!! TRIP REPORT IS UP!!

Good morning, Liesa. How are you today? It is another stormy day here...and, of course, it waits to start pouring when I get out of the car to get my Starbucks on the way to the train for work. And Andy is flying to Las Vegas today. :scared1: I hope his plane is not too delayed.

What college is "your" Andrew going go (I forgot)?

Good morning, Kathy! :headache: I guess I'd better get used to rain again as well!!! Oregon has plenty. :guilty:

Andrew goes to Western Kentucky Univ. in Bowling Green. He got his roomie assn. today- and is trying to track him down via FB.

How are you handling this? This is the first child to go to college, right?

Rain -- I'm so sick of it. I don't mind it in Florida because there is Disney, palm trees, etc. But here it just plain is annoying.

I rather have rain than snow! :rotfl2:

I have to agree with you on that. At least you don't have to shovel rain. But with the rain we've had the last two weeks and all the flooding, it's a chore getting to work.

You two are all wet. Snow is WAY better; you can get into work from your car without getting soaked. And it's prettier. And sadly something we get VERY little of in Oregon.

Rain. ALL YEAR LONG.

I am fine- remember, he hasn't lived with us for 2 years now. Except during summer.

Rain does get very tiring after a few weeks.

Come live in New England in the winter, where they don't shut ANYTHING down when it snows a foot and you have to drive to work. *shudder* Massachusetts in the winter is worse than Maine in the winter because the drivers are crazier in Massachusetts. :rotfl2:

Then the separation thing should be okay for you. I actually was okay with Andy...because he was only 25 minutes away (and he popped in ALL the time). It was Markie that I got hysterical with when we left him at school. :sad2: And NOW I can't wait until he goes back. :lmao::lmao:

Or come to Chicago and have our snow. SNOW is one of the main reasons Mark (Grumpy) wants to move to Florida. We hate it and the cold. It's only pretty the first day; then it becomes slush, gets in your boots, you fall on your a** because it turns to ice. And I know that Lady Lallie got hit really bad last year with the snow. I think I'll stop complaining about the rain. ;)

I've spent the last 3 winters in Massachusetts and they have been awful winters! The first one it took me THREE hours to get home one storm, and normally it took me 30 minutes. It was gridlock on the highway with snow up to your car windows! I never experienced such bad snow driving in Maine. :rotfl2:

I love the banter on the rain vs. snow. I lived in Flagstaff, AZ for all 4 years of school, and we saw our fair share of the white stuff there. I don't thing they EVER closed school due to snow=- no matter how much we got. In Oregon, if it snows 3 inches- or EVEN threatens to snow, they close it. RIDICULOUS!!!!

I have no idea, Magdalene, why they do that!! Seems like someone's idea of a big joke!!

I can't remember the time they closed Chicago schools for snow -- 1967? All I know is DC gets an inch of snow and that town shuts down (okay, it's not like they have NEVER had snow before). We just keep trucking along here. Give me sunshine, rain, palm trees and a Mouse and I'd be very happy year round. There would be no PMS, no midlife crisis, no change of life...just one happy lady. :)

AT this point, I'm just now starting to pray we don't have a hurricane or T. storm come through and rain on my Electrical Parade!!

I am just so glad that it isn't only me who experiences that! I was sometimes thinking I was going crazy!! :sad2:

:sunny::sunny::sunny::sunny: is what I hope your weather will be like in September, no hurricanes!! :scared1:

Mixing cake icing, crumbled brownies and vanilla pudding, then having one person drop it off the monorail platform as folks walk by, while the rest of the of the Battalion points up and yells "Whoa! That bird was HUGE!"

That's exactly what I was going to say! :lmao:
Also, did you know this:

"Morocco and the United States have a very long relationship dating back to the 1700s. Morocco was the first country to recognize the United States as a separate nation. In the lobby of Restaurant Marrakesh there are letters from George Washington and the Moroccan King."

I think I had heard that - maybe somewhere here on the Dis, because I know very little about Morocco otherwise!

Recipe please? That looks great!

Okay, so I must have missed #7, but #8 (if its not too late) is: Hoop De Do Review

Oh no! I missed the game! It seems as though there is always something more URGENT (not necessarily more important, though) than the DIS. I still haven't got around the blogging, and I promised you forever and a day ago to tell you about my super special surprise, so I'll just tell you now: A Singer sewing/serger/embroidery machine! It took me a full 2 days to figure out the embroidery stuff. My old machine is a Brother that does straight & zigzag stitches. This has 99. Plus about 15 different presser feet. It's going to take some getting used to. I also had to rearrange my craft room to set it up with the laptop, because it has to be plugged into the computer for embroidery. Good fun, though!
Glad to see you got your DISney docs & don't have to be on pins and needles waiting for those!

:rotfl2: I'm guessing you have done this before....! Perhaps more than once!

It wouldn't surprise me one bit, Brook. I'm sure he's done this and other, even more hilarious, stuff.

I haven't done anything like that! :littleangel:

The only reason I remember what side of the airport is because Jill and MeMom once mentioned they remember it as "B for Brooklynn" - so that's a duh for me! "B for Brook!" :rotfl:
Nice!

The dish looked nifty Liesa, but I couldn't partake. Like Brook's "b" I too have a system. Curry starts with C and C is for Consequences. (NOCPFriedCabbage)

We have really good rain mojo, I've had ponchos since trip one that are still in their original packaging! Once it rained for a few minutes, but that was IT. :thumbsup2 Since you are traveling the same time we are, no rain!
