New York City. Right on the water, of course!

My husband just sent me this one:

He is supposed to fly out Friday (the day after Henry and I).



I am not freaking out about it, but I sure won't like it! Do you have any idea if airlines ever change your tickets due to this sorta thing? If his work was okay with him taking an extra day, would the airline change his ticket to Thursday for free due to pending weather?

I won't go down that path until we are a bit closer to departure. Hopefully they are WRONG about it and Earl changes course.

I know...My parents are headed to Egypt next week and are going through New York - so they were calling me tonight to get a status update on the storm - it will be long by then. And hopefully not hitting anyone.

I do hope that they can get it right soon and that it will stay off the coast - considerably off the coast.

The wind shear is supposed to pick up so hopefully it will at least go back down to a Cat 2 before it hits anywhere?

I would call the airline and check your options...I think it depends on the situation - but surely they would be helpful if there was a storm. My only barometer for this junk is Katrina and who wants that measuring stick.

Yes I noticed the daily forecast was a better.

As of 5pm Fiona is now a tropical storm. I am worried too that Earl keeps stepping left. He needs to quit that and the whatever system is supposed to steer him north needs to get in place. We do not need a mess along the east coast right now!

It looked like Fiona was fizzling out but she was just getting her act together.


Maroo, did you think when we both guessed Fiona they would be forming 1,2,3?

They have children that use the computer a lot...so hanging out on here has not really been possible yet - but she misses us and hopes she can hang out some pretty soon!

Many soldiers are better than one soldier, so we gathered our forces and hit the town- Washing-town that is. I thought our time was outstanding in every way. I’m telling you, the fun flowed more freely than the pork does in this city.

Glennbo gave you his take on the Meet, but now it’s time for the “rest” of the story. Well, some of the rest of the story, as I really wanted to save the major portion of my telling until I get back from my trip. For what seems like WEEKS now, it’s been a constant battle to find any personal time- time to think, time on the computer, time to just sit and collect my thoughts, time to slow down and just contemplate how close my trip is now, or time to get those last minute plans together. My impending Victory at the House of Mouse is so close I can taste it, and yet it feels like this:

I can’t speak for everyone, but I personally, had a really great time with some quality, fabulous people, that I can honestly say, I’d love hanging out with on any given day in my own home. That stands as an open invitation- any time you are passing through Oregon, just give me a call. Mi casa es su casa, and all that.

Now, I’ll turn the floor over to Tate, who also had a stupendous time with our DISPals.

Hi Everyone! Tate here. 7 is giving me free reign on the keyboard! I likey. Check out my new duds!! One of 7’s friends who met us there, Jenb1023, gave me this really cool new outfit to wear at AK! See that big grin on my face?? I was pretty excited to get it. Of course, that mimosa helped everything seem a little more happy too. THANKS, Jennifer for my new African look, I love it!

And while I’m thanking people, 7 wants me to make sure to thank Tim (that’s nice) for his really thoughtful and generous gift as well.

7 can have that coffee, I get dibs on that sweet gift from Juliana!! Isn’t she a great little budding artist??

A bunch of you sent her some Mickey head paint chips, too. Thanks Tim, Jenb1023, SleepingBooty, and Sophia! Check out what 7 did on some of them!

I have a few wishes too, but I think I’ll just wait and see if a little pixie dust comes my way in the next week or so. 7’s going to hang these on her wishing wreath or whatever she calls it. That’s weird. Almost as weird as people taking pictures of their food. She tells me I'd better get used to it, because what she did yesterday was only the tip of the iceberg. I don’t get that, but I’ll move on.

Speaking of Sophia… She sent the makings for a really cool project, but before I post a picture, 7 needs to talk to you- your DH has her number. (Liesa interjecting here for a moment: Excuse Tate- that sounded really bad. - Sophia, if you’re reading this, please call me. I left message with your hubby. Ok, that didn‘t improve things, did it?) She told me I had free reign of the keyboard. I kicked her out; let’s continue.

Now back to clothes. I really like my new outfit; as much as 7 likes here new kicks. Wanna see ‘em?? (Glenn, Tim, Marv, and Dan, you can whistle Dixie for a while) Of course you do!!

Excuse that big red toe on the left. It looks like she's been sucking on her feet again. I'll have to remind her that that is a bad thing to do, especially if she's going to let me post pictures of them on the boards.

This pair, 7 tells me, actually may or may NOT work out for a day in Disney. That thong action she tells me is mighty uncomfy. Trust me I know. (Sorry about that imagery there- it was completely unintentional, really. 7 grew up in the 70s and 80s and some things never die.) 7 actually (word over usage alert!!!) got 2 new pairs of togs, but the other ones actually have a very funny story that goes with them that she’s saving for the TR. So, you’ll have to wait to see those. I know especially, you guys are sorely disappointed in that. I know I would be.

Ok, I know, I promised to tell you more about the Meet, so I’ll get down to the business of showing you a few of my favorite shots- not many, but enough to whet your appetites for more to come.

Lunch was super fun, but you’ve seen some pictures of that already, so I’ll start with this one. See how long 7 has been off the boards? She pathetically forgot how to do a proper Peep photo.

7 saw my friend Simba at the Museum. She made sure to say hi to him, while I was stuck in the trunk of Tracy’s car!! Can you believe that??!! She stuck me in the trunk and forgot me. Must have been that mimosa we shared. Moron.

7 and her friends may look like really hotties here,

and that’s because they were. I think she told me that it was right about here that they were saying they could actually FEEL their makeup melting off their faces! Maybe getting stuck in the cooler trunk of the car wasn’t so bad after all?


Dinner was even better than lunch- not because of the company, of course, but because of the food! It was simply scrumptalicious- far, far better than lunch. Like by magnitudes of 10 better, 7 says. They ate, drank, and generally made merry talking about, what else? Disney! The evening ended far too soon, and had 7 not been obligated to get a ride from her sister, she’d have asked Rosie and Tracy to go out for some more conversation. Around 9:30, I was liberated from prison, I mean, the trunk, and we called it a night. Which is what I must do now, also. Only 3 more sleeps until I get to ride in that Disney Bag ‘o Freedom!! Until then, Tate.

It took us 4 hours to get home from Buffalo last night I'm so sad we couldn't stay for dinner. Sounds like everyone had a blast! It was great meeting you finally face-to-face. Hope we can do it again sometime

Happy to hear about everybody rockin' out, especially Liesa with her fabulous, incredible new hair! It is amazing that this is all now happening after so long in anticipation.

I'm in Pennysylvania right now, helping out with my aunt who had a severe stroke this year. I'm excited and counting down to my arrival in Orlando, especially now that I can say it's next week!

I think I made a great choice with the color. It looks great in the sun.

It's coming up at sonic speed! I just wish I had a bit more time to myself to put those finishing touches on my planning- things I couldn't do in Kazakhstan.

I just want to say that I had SUCH a WONDERFUL time and it was such a joy to meet you!! Thank you so much for getting this meet together! From lunch, to DC, to dinner - everything was a blast! I too would have loved to have sat outside at one of the cafes and chat up a storm for a few more hours - next time!!

Liesa, I thought you might be interested in the fact that Restorantosaurus at AK has a new menu which now includes a Shrimp Poboy (you might know what this is, I have no clue!) and a grilled vegetable sub served with sweet potato fries. I thought that this restaurant was so much fun and it is air conditioned. So perhaps it might give you and additional CS option at AK!

Options are VERY good! I do have an ADR as Y&Y for 12:00, but I will definitely keep RFC in mind too. Thanks!

There was a model yesterday that put Fiona - who has not been named yet - hitting the middle of Florida as a very strong hurricane in about 10 days - but now Fiona seems to have started to fizzle out. I am hoping Earl is so strong that he just absorbs her.

So that is about it for now!

Oh A shrimp Po Boy yummy!!! I had them for lunch every day in New Orleans !!!A Po Boy is like a Sub or a Hoagie and Shrimp ones are THE BEST!!!!! Gotta check out that new menu !!!

Magdalene - where did you see/hear about this? AllEars and WDWinfo both still have the old menu. I'm VERY interested - I like air conditioning and am sick of Pizzafari.

Not Rain Forest Cafe, but Restaurantosaurus - the place in Dinoland which used to sell only burgers and chicken nuggets. I forgot about the Y&Y, I just remembered that you were rather dissappointed with FTB closing and that giving you only the options of burger or pizza... But Y&Y should be a wonderful lunch!!

You know ALL the Disney sites! I don't think I've ever seen that one before! The menu looks slightly more appealing...the themeing however sounds like it might be worth a stop just for that!
