D-Day Invasion- "Strange"-ly Imminent!! TRIP REPORT IS UP!!

Soooo happy everyone made it there safely, not sure they made it there feeling great, but at least out of crapastan!!!

No more crapastan!!!

Hope everyone is having a good time, and thank you to Magdalena and Katharina for taking care of them and showing them a nice time. :lovestruc You guys are so sweet, and you both have a place to stay if you ever want to come to Texas. :flower3:

So exciting to see Leisa enjoying time with Magdalina and Katherina! Nice to see the 1st leg turning out so great! Looking forward to Leg 3! Safe travels Leisa!

If they name Gaston and we are there and it rains...I will totally be seeking out the character to take a picture of him in the rain! Does he even do signing at all? Or is it just the Beast? Hmm....

Ha ha, great idea!! :goodvibes

I am thinking Liesa, Lisa (Lauren's Mom) and Lisa (Lauren's full time assistant at school) would all be freaked if a storm bearing their name did any damage anywhere. Of course, Liesa would say it isn't HER...because she has an e... lol

Oh yeah...FISH storms are awesome! They are beautiful and way out to sea. I think the fish probably get a little SEA sick. But other than that...no one is harmed...those are the BEST storms! :)

OMGosh Maroo! I can totally hear you saying this in your totally sweet southern accent! Your so dang cute. How are your feet feeling? I'm hoping your feet will be totally healed before you go!!

I vote we will have a GLEN!!!!:rotfl2:Which means we will have a ROSIE too !!!!:rotfl2:, Judy will be a little tropical;) Liesa will be the mother of all !!and let's not forget Jordan !!! Lord knows he is full of wind !!!:rotfl2:I think one should be Horatio as in hornblower !!!! How about Cassius he sure could throw a punch!!!!Boy I am on a roll !!:rotfl2:

Rosie you always put a smile on my face, I can't wait to meet you!!!

You are an absolute nut! :rotfl:

Yeaaah, but she's a cute nut, I think that's why she gets away with it. :rotfl:

We spent a lovely half a day yesterday with Liesa and her family. First we went on a tour of the fortifications of the Nuremberg castle and an old water supply system of the medieval city. This was really fascinating and a good tour for the unfortunately not so nice weather we had yesterday - we were underground for 1.5 hours. :goodvibes Afterwards Liesa, her DH and the three kids came along to my parents' house for a German dinner. Katharina and I got some very lovely Kazakh shoes (will post picture later) from them! And my parents got an impressive handwoven piece of material which was woven by Liesa's friend's grandmother 100 years ago. And was used for a yurt. Thank you very much, Liesa, for the wonderful presents! :goodvibes I was very impressed that you made the effort to bring them with you with all your luggage problems!! :worship:

After dinner Liesa, Katharina and I continued on to my place for a cup of tea and at 11:00 pm we brought her back to the Hotel Elch. This is the three of us on my sofa:

I am really sorry, all of my other pictures are down in the underground tunnels and they did not turn out so well...

Look at those three beautiful ladies, it's always fun seeing pictures of fellow DIS brothers and sisters. :lovestruc

So...Liesa....Can we tell them where you were???

Since you aren't there anymore? Or is that not safe?

I'm surprised she hasn't told you, call me and I will fill you in, I would say here but I don't want to spill the beans on here incase it would put the people she was there with in harms way. :confused3 I know it sounds crazy, but who knows what can happen in this crazy world.

But the weather person in me is just dying to know what kind of weather had you guys underground for 1.5 hours? Do you guys have tornados?

I know! I was thinking the same thing, what's the weather like?!? :beach:

By the way Magdalena and Katharina, my son is using Rosetta Stone to learn German! :goodvibes Now that he's learning I don't think I will ever hear the end of me not allowing him to take it in high school. He had so many advanced (AP) classes he was taking during his jr., and senior year that I thought it would be more than he could handle, so he took Spanish instead. We live in Texas, I didn't think it would be that big of a stretch for him to do well in it... and did!
Who knew learning languages was up his alley! I now wish I had let him take German instead.
He now walks around saying things in German all the time. It's so cute. He wants to be a international business major, I'm thinking he's well on his way with the international part! He's also planning on taking Chinese in college. :goodvibes

Well everyone, my boy is going off to school today. I feel so conflicted. :sad1:
Is it normal for them to start acting like...donkies (as Liesa would say) before leaving the house?? It's like the child has lost his flippin mind in the way he acts towards me. I told him no way am I coming up there to paint his room after the way he's been disrespectful to me of late. It breaks my heart because this is not who he is and it's not how I raised him. The fiesty Mama in me is determined to stand my ground and not do anything extra for him at this point to get the point across that there are two people responsible for a relationship, and his part is sending out a royal stink!! I feel he needs to learn he needs to clean up his stink before I want to be around him right now. Of all times for him to show his a**, you know? All I want to do is cry...I thought I raised him better than this. Sorry to hi-jack.

Oh Camille, He is probably feeling really insecure - supposed to be an adult but not ready. He's not even aware of his total feelings in this, and he lashes out at you to separate himself and try to feel more independent. I'm sorry he is making you sad. A friend of mine told me they act like that so you will be ready for him to leave, and he will be ready to leave. I'm praying for you, girl!

Good Morning!!!

Yes, that is the first time in a VERY long time that I have said that to you, my friends, when it was actually morning for you!! (Except you, Magdalene) That feels great- really, really great!!!

I have so much to tell you- so very, very much!! But of course, I'll be saving the majority of all of our adventures for the TR!

The 2nd leg was, of course, NOT without its difficulties and hardships- Quote of the trip: "Yes, sir, we do need that wheelchair." That just about sums up our experience from Frankfurt to Nashville....

And I'll leave you with that!

Just suffice it to say, we are over-the-moon thrilled to be eating REAL Cheerios for breakfast, completely wowed at the deer in my folks' yard, had a great sleep, and have discovered once again the feeling of 100% humidity on our singing skin pores.

Liesa and Family,
Welcome home to the USA I can't wait to meet up with you (may have to make a road trip since we will miss each other at the world) I can't wait to read all about your crazy days there with the ladies.

Here is the updated list! Everyone is welcome to guess.... We will stop the guessing when (if) the first storm gets a name!

I am going to repeat the game since it is a few pages back...for anyone just checking in. :) everyone can play! :)

let's have some weather fun while liesa is away...

Anyone want to play????

Here is the question...and we can see who gets the closest to reality...

how many named storms will there be between now and the time that we are all back at home on sept 13th. That is almost a months worth of time in the peak of hurricane season. this includes anything named today through sept 13th.

They don't have to be "hurricanes" - just named as a tropical storm - and they certainly don't have to hit land - i love a good fish storm!

My personal prediction is that we will see danielle, earl and fiona named. Will we possibly see gaston, hermine, igor or julia? Surely not karl or lisa?

What do you guys think? I will post our guesses here....

maroo - thinks they will name fiona
mryppns - thinks they will name gaston
that's nice - thinks they will name gaston
englishrose47 - is pretty sure we will have a glen, rosie and that jordan would have a lot of wind. (many style points awarded here!) :)
poolrat - fiona! (and bonus points for picking the us character!)
flossblona - thinks they will name fiona
glennbo123 - thinks it will be earl
starnightstarsky2000 - thinks it will be danielle (and i hope she is right!)
pollito916 - thinks it will be earl
marvali - thinks it will be igor!
brookelizabeth - thinks it will be matthew!
magicfor2 - thinks it will be gaston!

I think it's probably from stress of starting school and leaving home. I know I'm not the most pleasant person when I'm stressed and I'm almost 40! So I bet he just can't handle his emotions right now.
