Couldn't come up with a Tim could ya? ;) I would hope there wouldn't be a 'T' storm! :scared1::scared1:

How is Swirlie Watch 2010 going Maroo?

As far as named storms...have they named any so far this year? I'm completely out of the loop on most things newsworthy. And do they always start with an A? I do think if we get a Gaston seeking him out, or at least the B&B show in the rain would be a VERY fun picture. :thumbsup2

That is great news about meeting Noah's family!!! I'm sure it will be a wonderful time!

Hi everyone! We had an absolutely wonderful afternoon and evening with Liesa and her family! It was a great pleasure to get to know them in person. Will post more about it and pictures tomorrow. :goodvibes

Thank you for the update!!! I look forward to it all.

HILARIOUS!!!!! :rotfl: It would be so much fun if they named a storm Jordan. Oh think of the letters we could send him...;)

We spent a lovely half a day yesterday with Liesa and her family. First we went on a tour of the fortifications of the Nuremberg castle and an old water supply system of the medieval city. This was really fascinating and a good tour for the unfortunately not so nice weather we had yesterday - we were underground for 1.5 hours. :goodvibes Afterwards Liesa, her DH and the three kids came along to my parents' house for a German dinner. Katharina and I got some very lovely Kazakh shoes (will post picture later) from them! And my parents got an impressive handwoven piece of material which was woven by Liesa's friend's grandmother 100 years ago. And was used for a yurt. Thank you very much, Liesa, for the wonderful presents! :goodvibes I was very impressed that you made the effort to bring them with you with all your luggage problems!! :worship:

After dinner Liesa, Katharina and I continued on to my place for a cup of tea and at 11:00 pm we brought her back to the Hotel Elch. This is the three of us on my sofa:

I am really sorry, all of my other pictures are down in the underground tunnels and they did not turn out so well...:confused3

Maroo, I love your new game! I would say it goes to Flossbolna ;) (meaning it goes up to F of course, do they have the names set for those already or were you making them up?)

Thanks for the update Magdalene! Love the smiles in the picture. :thumbsup2 Liesa looks like she is so much more relaxed now than I'm sure she was over her final few days and weeks in Blankistan! :)

Thanks for the update Magdalene !!!It is good to actually see Liessa safe and sound and out of Blankistan!!!!!

So...Liesa....Can we tell them where you were???

Since you aren't there anymore? Or is that not safe?

What a great pictures!

But the weather person in me is just dying to know what kind of weather had you guys underground for 1.5 hours? Do you guys have tornados?

Maroo, I love your new game! I would say it goes to Flossbolna ;) (meaning it goes up to F of course, do they have the names set for those already or were you making them up?)

They have already named them...

For 2010 they are:

Alex
Bonnie
Colin

Danielle
Earl
Fiona
Gaston
Hermine
Igor
Julia
Karl
Lisa
Matthew
Nicole
Otto
Paula
Richard
Shary
Tomas
Virginie
Walter

Of course...the first three (A, B and C) were already named earlier this year.

I will put you down for Fiona! I think that is a good guess!

I am going to repeat the game since it is a few pages back...for anyone just checking in. :) Everyone can play! :)

Let's have some weather fun while Liesa is away...

Anyone want to play????

Here is the question...and we can see who gets the closest to reality...

How many NAMED storms will there be between NOW and the time that we are all back at home on Sept 13th. That is almost a months worth of time in the peak of hurricane season. This includes anything named today through Sept 13th.

They don't have to be "hurricanes" - just named as a tropical storm - and they certainly don't have to hit land - I love a good fish storm!

My personal prediction is that we will see Danielle, Earl and Fiona named. Will we possibly see Gaston, Hermine, Igor or Julia? Surely not Karl or Lisa?

What do you guys think? I will post our guesses here....

maroo - thinks they will name Fiona
MRYPPNS - thinks they will name Gaston
that's nice - thinks they will name Gaston
englishrose47 - is pretty sure we will have a Glen, Rosie and that Jordan would have a lot of wind. (Many style points awarded here!) :)
poolrat - Fiona! (And bonus points for picking the US character!)
Flossblona - thinks they will name Fiona
glennbo123 - thinks it will be Earl

Maroo, please put me down for Earl. I guess you could say...my name is Earl. I think I've heard that somewhere before.
