Cyrano - the adventure begins

Hi

glad you're all having a great time!
Thanks for taking the time to update us, its great to read.

Ooohh the Logan Steakhouse sounds nice - where is it?

Glad you are liking Hawthorn Suites LBV, we have stayed there twice already and are due back there this October - its nice to know all is still good there! I do like the fact its so convenient to the Parks and Downtown (although my DH doesn't like the amount of shopping I do so much!):rotfl:

Thanks for posting a live report - it's great listening to how you get on!

Up today at 6.30am. I think we were down for breakfast at around 7.15am.
Today's offerings were omelette, burgers and pancakes. I stuck with the toast although was nearly tempted to have porridge :)

I think I forgot to mention earlier that our dishawasher does not work. It sticks at the start of the programme and does not wash properly. We have tried not to be moaners but every day I have went to the duty manager and asked what was happening :confused3

Today's choice of park was Universal Studios. We arrived about 8.30am. Parking lot did not look to busy but the vast bulk of the crowds were heading to IOA :scared1:

We took a right at Citywalk and entered minimal lines at USF.
First stop was MIB. Two quick rides under our belt and we were wondering if Express Pass and FOTL were a waste of money. Then it was off to The Simpsons ride. DW, DD and DS went on this while Robyn and I had a look in the Kwik E Mart. Then we had some quality time with Bart.

Next it was another walk on to Jaws. The skipper "Sean" was on of the best yet :)
ET had a 10 minute wait so we chalked off another attraction.

The park was now getting busier. Mummy was 45 mins so I missed out with DD and DS. Jimmy Neutron was also a 45 min wait. Maybe those Express Passes are worth the money but we decided against them :)

We decided to have an early lunch at Louie's.
Then with Mummy showing a 15 min wait DW and DS went on. I had went on it the last time so thought that it was only fair. Jack and Diane thoroughly enjoyed it.

A bit of shopping was done before we decided to call it a day.

As the Premium Outlets had a Croc store that was our next port of call. I am sure the Converse Store figured somewhere in the list of shops visited :rolleyes1

As I still had some optimism about my glasses we headed back to Blizzard Beach. Lost and found were very nice but alas no sign of my glasses.

I went to the Vision Centre at Walmart but because of my prescription they said it would take 7/14 days. Looks like I will have to cope without my specs.

Supper was Logan's Roadhouse again. Although unlike last nights at Sand Lake we went to the one opposite Kissimmee Old Town. DW declared the meatloaf a hit :thumbsup2

We walked around DTD later before heading back to the hotel.

Saldly as the hotel had not fixed the dishwasher problem I had to demand that they changed our room.
Afterwards we used the laundry room ($1.75 for a wash and $1.75 for a dryer).

I will try to add some photos later in the week :)

Glad you had a good day at USF, my favourite park! :thumbsup2
It's unfortunate about the dishwasher and glasses, but I hope that these are the worst things that happen on your trip :) You're all safe and having a blast by the sounds of it! :)

I'm assuming they told you that everything gets sent to Central Lost & Found? Items are catalogued the day after they arrive there and it can sometimes take a day or two, so do keep trying. 407-824-4245.

:scared1: Burgers for breakfast!!!! Although my DH would probably have had one!

Where are you staying Reid?

I really love the Mummy ride, and after having my laser surgery done a couple of years ago it was great this year to actually be able to see the bugs and stuff in there, before it was just a blurred sea of moving black stuff! :rotfl:

Thanks Deb. They did not tell me this. Will call tomorrow :)

We are staying at Hawthorn Suites LBV.

Looks like we are slipping as we did not make breakfast until 7.30am.
We went past the laundry first and drop of load in the machine. Picking it up once we were finished breakfast.

For those interested it was chicken dippers :confused3, scrambled eggs and hash browns.

As we could not make up our minds about which park to go to and I really wanted to sort out specs meant that we went to the Florida Mall. DS was delighted as he likes to cruise the food court for samples :rolleyes1

Lenscrafters were brilliant. I was out by 10.30am and I collected a pair of specs at 11.30am. The boys had fun playing with the new iphone 4 and iPad, while the girls cruised the shops. The only purchases were H&M but a few lists were made ;)

We had lunch in the food court and then headed back to the hotel.

Car unloaded we decided to head to Typhoon Lagoon. This is the first time we have tried arriving later in the day. It worked out not to badly.

After the success of Teamboat Springs we all went on Crush n Gusher. Neither Diane nor Robyn were impressed.
Next we went on Lazy River which was bearly moving, followed by the Lagoon.

After a tour of the park we headed out at 4pm.

In the evening we headed To Walmart to stock up on some supplies for tomorrows trip to Hard Rock Hotel and Universal.

Another great day - very odd breakfast offerings! :lmao:
Glad that you got your new glasses sorted Reid!

I love the Crush n Gusher - as long as you remember to sit up and not let your bum touch the rollers you are fine! :rotfl: Learnt that one the hard way! ;)

DW has a belter of a bruise to confirm that she did not heed this advice either :rolleyes1

Today we checked into Hard Rock Hotel. We were at IOA for about 8.45am. The crowds are still insane. We wandered around Harry Potter land and will try to go on more tomorrow. The queues were about 3 hours by 10.00am.
No FOTL access to Forbidden Journey with the hotel room key which I was prepared for having read on the DIS. Lots of guests unhappy. The queues for Wilanders was equally :scared1:

We decided to stay away from the worst of the water rides until everyone had better clothing eg swimming costumes on ;)

After lunch the hotel phoned to say our room was ready. So we headed back and then into the HRH pool.

We went to USF around 3.30pm. Pleased that we persuaded Robyn to try Jimmy Neutron. We are getting there slowly and I am sure she would love The Simpsons ride if we could just get her to try it :)

Went into Shrek just as the heavens opened, It rained for the rest of the day.

Supper was in the Hard Rock Cafe. Serious quantity and quality of food. No starters or puddings as we could barely finish the mains.

We headed to Publix to buy breakfast items for tomorrow.

Posting frfom the lobby before settling down with a glass of red :goodvibes

Thanks for the update, sounds as still having great time. We have decided to have one night staying at Royal Pacific - was not going to but the cost of two hotel rooms was cheaper than park passes for two days for 8 people. Going to have a look at the hard rock cafe menu, was wondering where to eat, you might have decided for us :goodvibes

Sounds like everything is still going well - but I bet it will be nice to have a normal breakfast rather than the usual offering of chicken dippers and burgers. :confused3

Yes. Also note that they only keep them for a certain amount of time and then donate them (not sure what they would do about prescription specs - can't donate those).

I do hope you find them. :goodvibes
