We are going to be booking our room in the next week or so for the first week of April. This will be our third year in a row going down for spring break, and have stayed at Cypress Pointe in a 2-bedroom for the last two years. I was looking around and found the Blue Heron, which is pretty much within a 5min drive if that from Cypress Pointe, a location we really like right around the 535 exit on I-4. We can get a 1 bedroom master suite, plus a bunk bed section, as well as a pull out sleeper sofa for the same price at Blue Heron.

Has anyone been to both by any chance, or anyone here at all been to Blue Heron? I know it's under construction there, but tower 1 seems like it's completely done and ready to go.

My ONLY complaint I've ever had with Cypress Pointe is there is no bar area around the pool area. I enjoy an adult beverage or two, which they served out of the snack bar two years ago at CP, but this past year that was closed. It seems like Blue Heron does have a tiki bar around the pool area.

I think my kids would be fine at either place, as long as there is a pool we're good! :)

Any input please?

the person I ask about CP is now there - they annual meeting. and since I am going next week - I will tell you when I get back.

I think he says that this will be rebuild after they rebuild the check in???? not certain.

Thanks. I am pretty in tune with all the aspects of Cypress Pointe, other than the main check-in area possibly being moved short term during construction. I would really like some feedback from anyone who has stayed at Blue Heron, driven by it, walked into it, just anything. Or even better yet, anyone who has stayed at both!

Thanks again!

I've stayed at CP. Where is Blue Heron.

It's on the opposite side of I-4 by the Grand Beach resort. It is a high rise tower development rather than the more traditional lower buildings like CPR. It is all new which can mean nice units but few on site features ready to go. There are also two buildings under construction - just one building in use. I'm sure it would be a nice place to stay but it is rather isolated compared to CPR. One of the things we love is being able to walk to almost anything we want at CPR. Very few Orlando timeshares offer that. You can see it here

In the two years we have stayed at CP we have never needed or wanted to walk anywhere, so I really don't think that would be much of an issue for us.

When we are the resort we are either swimming, laying around the room watching tv late at night, or walking to the car to go somewhere, that's about it. And when we are swimming I am wanting a pool bar! :) We never really took much advantage of CP's miniature golf, etc. It was very nice however having the Winn Dixie so close to CP. Do you know if there is a grocery store that close to Blue Heron?

No, there isn't. You would have to drive.

Distance wise the absolute closest would be Goodings at the Crossroads. But many people find that store too high priced. Next would be the Winn Dixie next to CPR. After that the Super Walmart on 535 and then the Publix at 535 & 192. All of them are at least 1.5 miles away. Not a real long way but I would say you have to drive.

Thanks for the info. This place looks nice to me. Would it be across from the Sheraton Vistana areas then?

Thanks for the info guys. I am going to go ahead and book it, with a rate at $99/nt I can't be too disappointed! :)

If I tell you then everyone will start to find out and the rates will do the same thing here that Cypress Pointe has done for the last two years! ;)

Shoot me an email and I'll let you know, jeremy@premiumaquatics.com

From what I understand (and TotoToo knows much more than I do, I'm sure...) the hotelkingdom CP rates have probably gone up not only because of demand increases, but also because the underlying costs for the supplier of that inventory has gone up---annual fees on those units have gone up a small chunk* following the overhaul a few years ago and the unexpected roof replacement going on now.

In other words---spill those beans, Jeremy!

(*That's not to say that the MFs now are too high---from everything I'm reading, the management and board at CP are doing a great job in keeping the resort high-quality while still keeping owners' costs reasonable---the new fee structure is intended to provide for property-wide refurb every so many years without the need for special assessments. I would be happy to own there.)
