There is just WAY too much information out there! I've found this forum to be a great resource -- thanks to everyone who participates!

Okay, after endless hours of hotel research, I think (hope!) I have it narrowed down to these places:

Cypress Pointe
Cypress Pointe Grand Villas
Holiday Inn Family Suites
Sheraton Vistana Resort

Has anyone stayed at two or more of these places and are you able to give me a comparison? ANY info or advice would be so welcomed and appreciated!

We stayed at HIFS four years ago and were happy there, but the two Cypress Pointe places look like they might be half the price for comparable rooms. The Sheraton Vistana looks very nice, but I'm having trouble locating one for the week we are going (June 5-12). Does anyone know a way to contact an owner who might have one available?

Also, at the Cypress Pointe places, it looks like the volcano pool, which I'm assuming my kids will like best is in the older section. Is it an easy walk to the volcano pool if we stay at the Grande Villas?

Last, if anyone has photos and wouldn't mind emailing them to me, I'd really appreciate it. My email is McClaryL@yahoo.com.

Thanks so much in advance for any help you can offer! This decision is becoming overwhelming!!!

There will be four of us traveling...my husband and I and our kids, ages 4 and 7. I'd prefer a two bedroom, but if the second bedroom is small with twin beds, that's not a problem for us.

Oh oh....
I want that answer also!!

I think I am going to book Cypress pointe, 2 bedroom for 69!!!!
I think that is very cheap!
I would also be interested in some pictures if anyone has any!

Thanks
Jocelyn

Only stayed at Cypress Pointe Grande Villa, 2BR. Master BR has a King bed and private bath with jacuzzi. Second BR has 2 twin beds and a bath right outside the bedroom door. Kitchen and living area had one of the biggest hotel TV's we have ever seen.

You can walk to Cypress Pointe older section, its about 2 blocks depending on where your villa is in the complex. If you book there, remember you don't check in at the Grand Villa section, but go to the older one. By the way, that looked nice too. It is a short drive to Downtown Disney, and we would stay there again if needed. I would advise getting an Orlando map just to figure out how to get around.

We paid $88/night thru Hotel Kingdom. I think the price is cheap because there are just so darn many places to stay and at least they are getting something for their rooms.

I've stayed at both Cypress Point Grand Villas and Sheraton Vistana Resort. Both of our stays were fantastic. I know most people would disagree, but my favorite of the two was CPGV. Its a smaller resort, and we found the customer service a little better than at SVR. People were SO friendly at CPGV, everyone from the guests to the employees. We also preferred the pool at CPGV to the many pools at SVR. And CPGV is a little closer to Disney (only by a hair, though.....)

I don't think you could go wrong with either of these resorts. If you like a larger resort with constant activity, go with SVR. If you are a little more laid back, go with CPGV. Both are wonderful, and we would return to either without hesitation.

Jocelyn I sent you a PM and the photos are on their way to you!::MickeyMo

I have also stayed at Vistana and just got back from CPGV. My experience was the opposite of the other poster. I believe you get what you pay for. CPGV was just OK. Maintenance was fair. The front of the big screen tv in the lr of our 2 bedroom, fell off when we first checked in. The lr furniture was very sun faded and the coffee table had chips of paint missing. One night there were screaming people in the turtle pool until 11 PM which was a pain as we went to bed at 9:30 to be up early the next day. It was clean and for the money, a good choice.

However, I found Vistana much higher quality. Having only stayed in the Lakes section about 6 times, I know there have been complaints about the older sections. If my budget would allow it, I'd choose Vistana hands down.

Thank you Cindy! Great photos!!

I believe we are staying in the older section though. Too bad because the 'new' villas look great!

I am quite excited even though we are in the older section, for the money I think it looks fantastic! (I'm just excited to go to WDW)

We've stayed at both the Vistana Resort, and Cypress Pointe (the old section).
To answer the question about the volcano pool at Cypress Pointe, no matter which section you are in (grand villas, or old) you will be able to use ALL the pools on the property. The walks are very easy, although we did use a car when we used the pools near the grand villas, because my grandmother has trouble with any distance, especially after a day in the parks.
Either place is in a great location, for getting to any of the parks. We have been to all of the Orlando parks from the Vistana, and since Cypress Pointe is right down the street, I would assume it is just as easy.
Um, we do prefer Vistana over Cypress Pointe. But, either place is very good. The pools at either place are great, but if you are at CP, consider using the pools at the grandvillas. They are much quieter (and we were there at Easter, so that should give you an idea of crowds), and cleaner. I'm positive I saw a piece of human waste floating in the volcano pool. The pools at the grand villas were much warmer also. Vistana has more places to eat on property, but CP is almost next door to Crossroads, which has a lot of the big chain restaurants, and is pretty much across the street from Downtown Disney. Vistana is also right down the road from these 2 locations and is in a lower (slightly...remember this IS Orlando, right next door to Mickey) traffic area. We found that maintenance and service at Vistana to be better than at CP. CP was also looking a little run down when we were there, but it is my understanding that things have been redone since.

Any other questions feel free to PM me.
