cypress pointe travel to park

We are staying at Cypress Pointe and renting a car. We plan to spend most of our time at Magic Kingdom. Am I better off driving to Magic Kingdom or going to Downtown Disney and getting to MK that way (since DTD is so close to CPV)? If so, how does one get to MK from DTD?
