Cypress Pointe-Timehsare presentation?!?!

OK..before I cry please tell me there is no timeshare presentation that you have to sit thru when staying at Cypress Pointe!! I have been searching for an off site property for a weekend visit this May and decided to try hotelkingdom.com for a good rate at Cypress Pointe, as recommended by many of you on this board. I got a $74 rate and when I mentioned it to my travel agent she told me that I only got that rate because I have to sit thru a timeshare presentation. I have gotten sucked into those before and do not have the time to waste on another one. Maybe my travel agent was mad because I found a cheaper rate than her, I don't know. I have not found anything on these boards where people who booked thru hotelkingdom.com had to do this. Anyone have firsthand experience?? Thanks so much for any replies!

Hi there,

Just stayed at Cypress Pointe this week, and loved it! When you check in, they will offer you a welcome package at a desk in the lobby. They will invite you to a "welcome breakfast" during your stay, which is a guise for a timeshare presentation, but we said no, and they were fine with that. She was not pushy. They also called us (I assume to invite us again), but we didn't answer. I know the rate seems too good to be true, but this is a case where it's for real! Universal and Disney tickets are available at this same desk. Good luck with your decision!

this is also true when you use skyauction.

I didn't even get the call....when using skyauction.

your travel agent is wrong. hotelkingdom rates do not require tours (stayed at cypress pointe 3 times in the past 2 years using hotelkingdom). your agent probably just assumes that one is required with such a great rate. if she bothers to look at the site herself she will see a tour is not a requirement.
