Cypress Pointe Grand Villas Should I ask for a particular building or floor?

We're staying at CPGV from June 15-24 and are looking for suggestions on a building to request. Are they all about the same? We'd like it to be close to a pool (I think the kids will prefer to swim at the volcano pool which is at the original Cypress Pointe). We're also in need of laundry facilities since our 1 bedroom doesn't have them...someone mentioned that there are some coin operated ones on property somewhere. Finally, are they all non smoking or do we need to request that?

Thanks

If you want to be as close to the Volcano pool as possible then Buildings A, F or G are your best choices. Most CPGV buildings have a coin washer/dryer in the building on the 2nd or 3rd floor as I recall.

Have any of the Cypress Pointe Grand Villas been refurbished lately? The one we stayed in last year looked pretty worn with burned spots in the kitchen formica countertops etc.

Grande Villas have not undergone refurbishment as of yet, but from what I understand it's supposed to start sometime this year.

No. There is a plan to accomplish that but none of it has been done yet. Building "G" is the newest - finally completed in 2002 after Sunterra was delayed in completing it by a bankruptcy - but it has the same design/features as all the other, older buildings.

Sounds like the best request would be for 2nd or 3rd floor of building G.

The 1 br will be tight! Don't overpack at all. I love it when there are only two of us, but don't plan on easy dining in the kitchen.

That said, I think the location and amenities of Cypress Pointe are wonderful. We've stayed about 4x I think.

Last year, we were in a building in the Grand Villas which was directly in front (on behind depending on your perspective) the GV pool.

Suprisingly, we heard no noise. We were also first floor so it was ultra convenient for the kids to walk out and go to the pool.

We have stayed at Cypress Pointe about 8 times. We have stayed in just about every area of the resort. The Turtle pool location is our fav. Last trip we stayed by the Volcano pool and the room was not as nice as the ones by the Turtle pool.
