cypress pointe got a great deal for a week on ebay anybody stay here?? need reviews.

hi,
we booked from renting resorts on ebay (brooke was the contact person i have been emailing.) we won the auction on friday she just sent me the confirmation today she also said that i would receive something in the mail from sunterra (i guess they own or manage cypress pointe). i have not called the resort to verify as of yet. (when i do i will let you know and keep you updated) according to the feedback everything looks okay. the price was definatley right. i also am a little nervous hoping everything works out. maybe we will see you in orlando good luck with your auction. let me know how it works out.

Hey!!! Me too! I have an auction going with Brooke! I actuallyfound a really good deal for CP online and then I looked on Ebay and found a better deal that was $100 cheaper for the week and bid on it. She emailed me back as soon as I emailed her to let her know I was bidding on it and told me that she was reserving the week for me. I have like 13 hours left or so, hope I win!! Let me know how things work out for you and I will do the same! I am SO EXCITED for this trip!!!!!:dance3:

Not that it matters to a guest but just to prevent rumors Sunterra owns or manages either Cypress Pointe resort. They do neither. The resorts are operated by the independent owners through the elected Board of Directors and managed by Vacation Resorts International (VRI). What Sunterra does have is the exclusive sales rights on site and a large block of weeks at both resorts which they own or that belong to the Club Sunterra Trust. Some of those weeks seem to be offered as rentals on various sites which is their right to do. Since they own the weeks and pay the associated fees Sunterra can utilize the time as any other owner can. If they choose to rent the time at or below the cost of the fees it can be a great deal for the renters. They may also tie discounted rates to a required sales tour but that would be made clear in any offer. If it isn't stated clearly then you have no obligation to tour if you don't want to. The offers on Hotel Kingdom for example do not have a tour requirement that I've ever seen.

Hey!!! Me too! I have an auction going with Brooke!

Please be sure to post when you get back! I had the week before Christmas for $300 (for the 2BR at CPGV) from a different seller on ebay (jumpbackjack0) and was very happy, but I've also seen some great deals from Renting Resorts for a 3BR (which I would like even better). I'd love to hear how they work out for you.

BTW, did you get CP or CPGV?

Thanks!

CPGV, I think? I will check on that one. BBL!:)

I haven't stayed at CP, but we really liked CPGV. I think the 2nd BR is larger at CPGV (with 2 twins instead of a trundle), and I think the master bathroom situation is better. I also liked the arrangements of the buildings at CPGV (all surround the pools/playground/deli/activities building).

We requested ground floor and got it on all 3 of our units. Two of them were on the pool side of the building (as opposed to the parking lot). Next time, I'll be sure to request that again. You have a screened porch/balcony with a ceiling fan, so it's nice to sit outside.

^^ We went with the 1 BR suite. It was 459.00 with everything included (tax and all that stuff) for the week, but we are going President's week and at Hotelkingdom the same thing was 593.78 after tax. The auction for the 2 BR suite was 220.00 more for the week I think. Everything seems to be a little pricier for that week. How many more days do you have?

I actually just got back (was there the week before Christmas), but we liked it so much that we are planning on going back again next December.

That is awesome to know. I was a little hesitant to cancel POP for off-site but it just made more sense with the fridge and appliances we needed.

hi angelmami424

thats great that you won. i just called cypress pointe today and verified our reservation everything seems to be okay. they had my name and our dates and said everything was paid for. cant wait to go. have you been to disney before???
kim

i've been going to disney since i was a child and have been going every year since....i'll be glad to post back after my trip on how everything went.

just got back from my trip at cypress pointe. overall the vacation was great.

Negatives:
1) the second bedroom with the trundle bed is way to small. by the time u open the trundle bed there is no room to walk around the bedroom just to get to the closet
2) no window in the second bedroom and with the room being so small it almost was impossible to breathe in there they should only had put one bed in that room not two
3) the master bath is in the master bedroom, you can see the person on the tiolet from the bed, so whenever u want to go to the bathroom be sure to lock the door
4) same thing with the lockout unit the bathroom is in the bedroom, no privacy!
5)the lockout unit bed is close to the staiwell of the building so when people are walking down the stairs it is very loud...the walls in this place was way to thin, one night i felt the bed vibrate because someone was running down the stairs!
6) no elevators-i knew about this one, it wasnt so bad walking because we were on the second floor

Positives
1)location- very close to shops, dining and downtown disney great spot
2)large beds- i wanted to take my king size bed home with me
3)nice garden tub and jet tubs
4)very close to the pool
5)great parking right in front of the unit's building
6)easy checkin and checkout
7)i did get a call about a welcome packet but once i said no there was not any hassle
8)nice surround sound- we rented some movies and it sounded like a movie theater
9)everything looks brand new- not rundowned probably because of the renovation

overall it was a great trip, also i got a great deal of 430 for a 3 bedroom for a whole week...not bad at all. would i stay here again.yes (only if i get a great deal) i would recommend this place for people going on disney vacations...its pretty close to downtown disney and the parks. hope i helped!
