Cypress Grand Villas is a great place to stay...so close to Disney. We have stayed there 4 times! After exhaustive internet searching, the last two times I stayed there I booked through HotelKingdom. I booked my Cypress GV reservation for June '06 online yesterday through HotelKingdom -- it is amazing that they have such low rates! I got my confirmation number, and called them this morning to ask them to put us in a room near our friends. This afternoon I called Cypress GV and they said they see the request, and I should call back about a week before my stay and they will "pre-block" our rooms.

This year, I am thinking about going to Pirates Dinner Adventure.
Any advice on this show?

Also, is there a mouse travel group in Maryland?
We are looking for other families that travel yearly to Disney - its always better for the kids to have other friends to go with.

I'm glad you found a great rate. I intend to stay at CPGV some day. I would check the DIS Meets board to find others going to WDW when you are.

MouseMyLife,

We stayed at Cypress Pointe (not the GV) and enjoyed it too. We had my MIL with us so we had a 3 bdrm unit so she could have some privacy too. I agree, Hotelkingdom has some very good rates for CP and CPGV! :thumbsup2

Question for you, since you have lots of experience at CPGV...have you stayed in or seen a one bedroom unit? I'm curious to know if the 1 bdrm units at CPGV would be big enough for our family of 4 (2 kids are pre-teens). We're not adverse to traveling with air beds (we'll use them if the sofa beds aren't great), though we don't break occupancy limit rules. We will definitely use the kitchen, and I *think* we can get by with only 1 bathroom, LOL! We've been so spoiled with 2 bdrm+ condos the past 2 trips. Anyway, I'd love to hear your opinion on this...TIA! :)

The 1 bedroom at Cypress Pointe GV is too small for 4 unless the last two are under 4. It is a nice layout that makes great use of the available space but it is just a glorified, small hotel room. The kitchen/sitting area with the sofa bed is separated by a glass wall from the bedroom but you have to share the tv, bath and have no light if the drapes are closed on the glass wall. It's great for two that don't need a lot of space or a couple saving money traveling with an infant or very young child. After that it is too crowded and lacks any privacy to be comfortable although rated as sleeps 4.

Nice layout -- Very comfortable for one or two persons, but I wouldn't want four of us in there.....unless the little ones are real little ones. I would look at the two bedroom for 4 persons.

We're probably going to try the Phase II unit next October. DH and I stayed in a studio in the Phase I, and that was definitely a hotel room...no table and chairs! For just the two of us I think the Grandvillas will be better, although there's a king bed in Phase I and only a queen in Phase II.
