Hi all,

We are planing to visit Cypress Gardens on our next trip.
We will be there over Easter and having read Simons book (as you do) it sounds great.

Having never been there before we would love to hear your views. :D

Hi,
We've been there several times although not recently. It's a nice day out. The flowers are lovely and there is quite a bit to see and do but it's not remotely on the same scale as a Disney Park . If you fancy a quieter day just wandering at will and enjoying the sunshine you'll probably like it. Maybe someone who has been more recently can tell you more,
regards,
Carol

:D hi paul and shirley we went to cypress gardens in feb2001 and we really enjoyed its very friendly and layed back and a nice break from the theme parks there are a lot of things to do and the lights once darkness falls are truly beautifull they also dressed our 6 year old daughter up as a southern belle and she had so much attention from other visitors many insisting to have there photo taken with her it really made her day.we think you will really enjoy eleanor

Hi Paul and Shirley

We went to Cypress Gardens for the first time last March and I really enjoyed it - we had a lovely day. The gardens are truly stunning. If you like Country and Western Music (which I am not too keen on I have to admit!) - there is like a Bandstand in the centre of the shopping/restaurant area and they have entertainment there most days. DH and I had a great deal of fun just people watching! There were obviously some C&W Groupies there - but it really was great fun and very entertaining.

If your interested in the film Gone With The Wind - there is a fantastic tribute to the film in Magnolia Mansion with untold amounts of Trivia.

And you can book up and go for a meal up and down the river on this Riverboat.

I think the only downside of our day there was the thousands and thousands of tiny flies that were present, but that was due to the time of year I think and there was a drought on at the time.

I wouldnt hesitate in going next time we go to Florida. Check out the website - there is a discount voucher to save money on your entrance fee. Cypress Gardens Website

Hope this helps - if you want any more info, please feel free to ask, I can easily dig out the guide book :) :)
