Cypress Gardens, Is it closed?

Sorry, I know this is not the right place but I figured someone would know here for sure.

Is it true? I can't believe the park that started it all is closed.

Does anyone know if it will go under new ownership? How soon?

I can't get into the site. It's not available anymore. I was suprised there wasn't any comment on their site.

yes it is closed. At least 2 couples here on the DIS had weddings planned there. I know at least one has received their deposit back, but I believe was never able to speak to anyone when they heard that it was closing.

Some politicos are talking of "saving" the park, but at most that will mean preserving the original gardens as a state park and that would probably be years away.

Too bad. It was a lovely park and a real piece of Americana.
