Hi,

My husband wants to bring his road bike (bicycle) on our next Disney trip so that he can keep up training and have some fun riding around Lake Buena Vista.

We will be staying at the Poly and AKL. Does anyone have any advice or tips about brining a bike, where to rider, good routes, will guest services keep bike there or can it stay in room. I'm also curious if Disney may frown on my hubby ripping around roads.

Thanks so much in advance,

Kristin

My husband is a runner, so he has similar goals. But there is absolutely no room on the Disney roads for runners or bicyclists. The best place for my husband to run is through DTD from OKW or DTD hotels. Or around FW to and from WL. I'd plan on not riding a bicycle at WDW, there just isn't any safe place to do it for long distances. Running isn't allowed on Disney roads except for scheduled Disney races. Probably the same with bicycles.

I can understand not riding on the roads at WDW, but isn't there a nearby area that's good for riding a road bike (bicycle).

Surely some folks have done this. What do you say?

For me, it'd have to be paved with no pedestrians. I'd like to do 20 - 30 miles and see some nice countryside on our day off from the parks.

Thanks.
