Cyber Monday? More like Cyber dud...

I got a basic digtial video camera (3 of them) off of woot for 17.99 each, plus $5 shipping. They reatil for about 80 and the cheapest I saw on other sites was 40, so I thought that was a good deal. But I really didn;t look for anything either. Last year the closer it got to christmas the better the deals were on most sites.

Online retailers often do what some big box stores, particularly Kohls. Their "regular/list" prices are terribly inflated and then they go on "sale" to regular prices. People buy into the sale mentalilty. They are paying regular price but they love to say they got it at 50% off. Same happens with Amazon lightening deals - you get into the frenzy of getting one of them before they are sold out and don't always realize you're paying regular price or regular sale price. I also noticed on the Amazon lightening deals that the "list price" went up when the sale was released so the % off looked even higher. Before it went on sale, you could see that the item sold for less than list all the time. Tricks you into thinking you're getting that much better of a deal.

I, too, was disappointed in the sales today. Only thing I bought was the $5 Philosophy sets on Sephora because they also had free shipping, no minimum purchase required. Knocked out all my colleague's Christmas gifts :thumbsup2

Yeah, that hour I spent on Build-A-Bear's website last night trying to nab a $5 bear was a big ol waste of my time. Twelve hours later and they still didn't have the kinks worked out...

I got what I wanted on Build-a-Bear, but it took me 2 1/2 hours! Their website was so bad, but I waited up until 1 am here for the sale to start and I was determined to get them.

I got 4 of the white dog that was originally $22 for $5 each and 1 snow leopard that was $18 for $5. I had a coupon for free shipping and a $10 gift card that I had paid $5 for (so $5 free there :thumbsup2). I was also offered another $10 gift card for $5, so I bought that to use with my $7 off of $10 coupon that starts tomorrow.

1 Christmas gift for dd, 2 for friends kids, 1 for my dd for valentine's day and 1 extra for the next birthday party :woohoo:

Cyber Monday was horrible this year. Hardly anything to call a deal. I guess I got a couple okay deals, though, one of which was a Razor scooter for $16 from the Amazon lightning deal at 10pm. I thought that was a nice deal.

I was able to find better deals online on Friday. I did get a good deal on a DVD at FYE's website, other then that, nothing.
