Cvs weekly 8/9-8/16

Well I know I had them, and they mysteriously disappeared. The worst that can happen is the nice CVS cashier points out your mistake.;)

Woohoo... it worked!

I had a coupon to get $25 GC with any new/transferred Rx so I took in an old script the ER gave me last month. $5 copay and I got the $25 GC!

Got... 1 bottle of CVS Brand Aquaphor, 2 packages of Huggies and 2 Spree for $15.17!
(I used 2 $3/Huggies Pure and Natural and one of the $4/$20 coupon from the ReadyFill booklet. :goodvibes

So I've still got $9.83 on the GC and $4 ECB from the Huggies deal!

DH came home from work today saying 'I have a surprise for you!' I'm thinking 'oh boy' and not in a good way. DH hands me 3 more ready fill booklets. He was working in Balto city today! Yay!!!!
I have got to get to CVS! I had Dniece5 visiting since Monday and she is NOT a shopper. LOL. She went home tonite after dinner. tomorrow morning I'm off to cvs. Anyone have the link to the rite aid coupon for a script. I need to get a script filled and would like a GC. thanks in advance. :goodvibes

I encountered my first coupon scrutinizer clerk today. I bought the Huggies that are on sale and had two $3 coupons. One coupon said for Little Movers or the natural ones (I forget what they are called) and the other coupon was just for the natural ones. I got two packs of Little Snugglers. They are a size one. Movers don't start until size 3 because infants don't walk. ;) Anyway, the clerk scanned my first coupon and it scanned, then she looked at it and voided it out and told me it was for the wrong kind of Huggies. I was pretty shocked that she turned it away with it not beeping. Then she told me right away that I couldn't use the other coupon either. Oh well!

I am debating on trying my luck again with more Pure and Natural coupons and my mother's CVS card.... and at a different CVS.
I may have to be more selective in my cashier choice since now I know you didn't make it through.

Was she mean about it? Sorry it didn't work. :headache:

*eta*
Am I crazy to be apprehensive about using a GC I got for free with my card to make a purchase off of my moms? Would I be better to just use cash?
I feel like somehow they'll know it was me for both Huggies purchases. :rotfl:

She wasn't mean, she just said that they were for the wrong ones. I was just surprised she turned it away, though, because it did not beep when it scanned. She manually voided it.

I have 2 CVS around here !! I only use 1 as the other one ha some mean cashiers !! My CVS has awesome staff who try to make sure I get the best deal ! They also have a store policy that let's you use 1 expired cvs c/o per transaction!!! The other one told me they shouldn't do that!!!!

Super cheap diaper deal! After I left I realized I could have gotten my cost even lower but I always get nervous using so many coupons and didn't want to push my luck. :p I bought a $.99 pack of floss picks and if I'd bought the $.99 colgate I could have used a $.75 coupon making it even cheaper, but I was afraid of how it would affect the BOGO deal.

Here's what I got:
(6) Alax ($5.94)
(1) Huggies Lil Movers (or whatever they are called, they didn't make them when my kids still wore diapers) $9
(3) Colgate toothpaste $9.57
(3) Colgate kids toothbrushes FREE
(1) 15 pack mint dental floss picks (needed a filler) $.99

-$2 $2/$10 Oral Care from ready fill
-$4 $4/$20 from ready fill
-$3 Huggies Natural
-$9 $3 off Colgate x 3
-$6 $1 off Ajax x 6

Total $2.46

Follow-up to my Huggies coupons story:

Last night my MIL dropped off Huggies coupons that were mailed to her. (Somehow she started receiving Huggies mailings in my name years ago when I had my son. :confused3) Anyway, they were coupons for $3.00 off ANY Huggies diapers. So I took my diapers and receipt to a different CVS today, explained that I forgot to use my coupons last time and asked if I could return them and rering it. The manager said not to worry about it and he scanned the coupons and gave me $6 cash! :thumbsup2 I have not told my DH any of this because he would harrass me endlessly for going through this for $6. :rolleyes1

I got my first Reday Fill c/o book no problem at all!! Hoefully a different Galis working tomorrow so I can get another !!!!

Glad it all worked out. I think she should still have accepted the coupon since it didn't beep ;) Which CVS was it? I have a list of ones I avoid in the area because of certain cashiers!

It was at the one in Leesport on Route 183. I have never had trouble there before. I've also never seen this cashier before. On one hand, I know that the coupons I had originally were not worded for what I bought so I never would have pushed it. I just thought it was so weird that the q did not beep and she took a double take and voided it herself. Otherwise I really like that store. The store that credited me with the new q's today was on 5th street. The manager was really nice!

Wow, that is one of my favorite stores (and the one on 222 in Blandon). I'll have to keep my eyes out for a new cashier there! The one on 5th street is usually fine...except so many people do the deals there that they are always wiped out!

I am very excited to do the CVS deals and the Kmart deals tomorrow! I am hoping they take more than 10 coupons! I plan on hitting 5th street and Shillington early and working CVS/Rite Aid in as well. Maybe I'll bump into you :goodvibes

I've gone back for $1!!!! Its the principle of the thing. We all know how far $1 can go at CVS.

I only go back if the amount of money in question is more than the gas and TIME that it would take me to go back. I put a higher price tag on my personal time than on my time I'm paid at work, because I have less personal time and that time is more valuable to me with my family. I also estimate how much gas is. ( I do a quick estimate - I don't waste time actually sitting down and getting it to the penny.) If the CVS was close to me, or right near somewhere I was going anyway..I would go back. I would maybe go back for $6 if I was in the neighborhood. I would probably never go back for $1. My time with my kids is just worth way more than that to me. I would figure that between driving time gas, and actual personal frustration, I would gladly pay someone more than $1 to take care of something like that for me , therefore $1 would not be worth the time it would take out of my very short life on this earth.

I'm only bringing this up because, once I had a discussion with a woman on one of these threads over a coupon deal for cookies. She was all worked up, because her husband had used the coupon she gave him on the larger size and not the smaller size which was on sale, so instead of getting the cookies for free, he had paid $.25 for each package. she was mad because he would not drive the HOUR back to the store to exchange. I think he had bought 4 packages and they were out a dollar over it. (Really not out anything, because they got more cookies for it, but that was lost on her) She was so OCD over the fact that she wanted them for free, that she refused to see it was still a great deal for the money. I tried for sometime, to make her realize that in GAS alone, it would cost him something like $10 to go back, and come home. But she just refused to see the light on that one. I kept saying "but you clip coupons to save money, and this is going to COST you so much more than the cookies" she just would not see it. She was all about seeing $0 on her receipts and couldn't see the big picture.

Rich people are stingy with their time as much as their money. Yes, they could paint a room for cheaper if they did it themselves. But they realize they could be make MORE money doing something else for those hours while they are paying someone to paint and still comeout better in the end. So doing the cheapest thing is not always the wisest thing. You have look at all sides and do what is not necessarily the cheapest thing, but thing that is best for your lifestyle all around.
