Cvs weekly 8/2-8/8

Sorry I haven't been around in awhile. I finally got a new laptop so I am back in action.

Got lots of great stuff today between my mom and I. She is still killing me trying to buy things that aren't on sale, but she is learning. I will be going back tomorrow for the Pampers and more Softsoap.

If you managed to find the 2 pocket folders make sure you get your ECB, they are not printing. I need to either return these or send an email to get my ECB. I know it's only a dollar but Walmart has these folders for a nickel so it's annoying.

Is anyone else but LanaJae annoyed by these tax changes? I spent $5 today just in tax!!!!! I know it is still a good deal, but I spent $12 in the whole month of July. $5 a trip is going to wipe me out....... I wish there was some loophole to get around paying it on the before coupon amount.
bolding is mine...
Welcome to our world. It has been that way here all along ever since I can remember redeeming coupons. You pay the tax based on the precoupon total. I haven't known it to be any different. I guess that's why my OOP is higher than most others and is usually closer to or slightly over a $1. Sorry I'm not more sympathetic, I guess I'm just used to it. ;)

LanaJae, I'm jealous - I have been trying for months to even find a Reinventing Beauty magazine! Even went as far as to ask my manager and he said he gets them but never puts them out, just discards them. I did all but get down on the floor and beg - that was at least 6 months ago!:rotfl2:

If any of you shop at Jewel I thought I would mention that the Fannie May ice cream is on sale BOGO and there were coupons in the paper today for BOGO - making both free. A quick call to corporate confimred this. Because of all the great coupons this week I bought 8 papers which means 16 free ice creams!:cool1: But gosh my thighs certainly don't need to know that!:goodvibes

i'm so in awe of how you all do this and spend no money, lol, i'm still getting the hang of it. nothing really caught my eye this week. i might get the head & shoulders or pantene.

Pretty soon you will be doing this too, it just takes time.

are there any IP's out there for the vitamin waters? All my coupons for them expired last month. Just wondering....
We have a 24 hr store just around the corner. :rolleyes1

Sorry no :( Supposedly there was a $1/2 in some inserts today but I didn't see it - I didn't look though, I ran out the door lol

I just read up on it on slickdeals and HCW...it seems way too YMMV for me to try. I might swing by tomorrow though if there are still reports of it working. I'm glad you were able to take advantage of the deal!

Just try one tomorrow, at the most its $1.25 to check and they taste good.

I'm pretty ticked about the tax issue along with you, but the stuff I've been getting since it started is things I really want and that I'd be buying somewhere else anyway plus I've had some $/$$ coupons that kept me in business. We don't have tax on food here so that helps a lot.

That makes me want to cry - he discards them? Sheesh, he could put them on a table in the entrance and mark them "free" instead. I am sure there are boxes and boxes of these in storage rooms with expired coupons in them. Whenever I find any, I buy them all. Mostly stores are just too lazy to put them out.

I had a similar thing happen - I saw a stack of just the coupon inserts on a shelf at a store here. Each store is given hundreds of just the inserts to set out for free. I was waiting for a shift lead that I liked to be working to ask about them and finally I did - he said he threw them out. I said if it was today, I am going to go dig in your garbage lol - he said no, it was a few days ago. Then, a week later, I see them again on another shelf so I said those were what I was asking about last week so he gives me one - one? I still have plans to finagle the rest of them somehow.

Here in PA we still only pay tax on the after ECB/Coupon amount. However....they registers are all funky and really confusing. The side the customer sees has the tax figured in, but the actual total on the cashier side does not. Very confusing! I constantly have to ask what my new total is so that I don't give her an ECB that is too big. I guess I shouldn't complain too much though as we still aren't paying the tax.

At Rite Aid I still pay the tax with their program and it does make a difference in my purchases. Sometimes I do pass up on some freebies there because I have already hit my OOP budget with the tax.

Slightly OT here but I know some of us do Walgreens and CVS. I had some RR from Walgreens and they expired at the end of last week. Are they just lost or should I try to use them anyway? Any experience with this?

My experience is that most younger cashiers aren't sticklers about coupon rules. I would try it with a teenage cashier, the worst that can happen is they say no.

Cool! Thanks!!! I think I need some cereal today then!!:cool1:

That thing with the screen means it's being implemented there :(

I got CVS chapstick and my husband got ibuprofen, not very exciting. Some people got batteries.

No, they do this once a year, sometimes twice. Everyone gets a free "gift."

I hate that thing with the registers. I never seem to know what my actual total is until I start handing over ECBs. Very confunsing! :confused3

My free item was some energy bar thing or something??? Not something I want. I'd rather have the mouthwash or CHOCOLATE!! I'll have to look in my coupon envelope to see exactly what it is called.

Maggie

My free item on both cards was the lotion. I won't complain about that one....it is a nice sized tube but still small enough for a desk drawer or purse. My friend got free aspirin.

The vitamin water is working at 2 of my stores. I did it 4 times so far. I will probably do it 2 more times tonight on my way to Musikfest if my friend will let me stop. I am going to see the David Cook concert  I  him!!!!

I got the lip balm on one card too. Thing is though it costs $1.29 and they will only take off .99 so its not really free. I think that this a bunch of bull.

I got the mouthwash on the other card. Haven't tried it yet
