CVS Weekly 5/24-5/30

Thanks for posting! Next week is looking pretty good. Especially the two day sale.

I know there are some PA,NJ,NY CVS'ers on here. My son, Nicholas, is a finalist in a contest run by the Allentown Morning Call and the Lehigh Valley IronPigs. If you have a chance, vote for him.....It will give him something to look forward to, besides his upcoming surgery.

We'll be up north where there are no CVS's for 40 minutes in any direction- will I be able to get rain checks for the 2 day sale stuff if they are out when I stop in Monday night?

Anyone know if the SUN-MON only deals download on Saturday night or if they wait til Sun a.m.?

Yes, you can get them if you go in Monday and they are out. I did this when they had the 2-day sale before Christmas. You can get a raincheck on Sunday or Monday. The only time you cannot is if it says 'while supplies last' or if it is a special order item that they will not have in the future. Although, some managers will replace the special order item with something else sometimes. Hope this makes sense.

Thanks for the info! This week coming does look pretty good! Better than the last few! :goodvibes

I agree, it has been so boring lately and a real hassle to roll forward my ECB's (I have about $50 on each card right now, down from $140ish earlier in the year). It has taken a lot of discipline to not blow them on deals that arent' that great unless I really need the product. Next week looks much better though! Hopefully the trend continues!

I am fairly new to this, and understood that to get started I would have some initial cash out of pocket.

But I don't understand how you continue without spending some out of pocket and how you ever get this much in ECB. I don't think I ever had more than $10 at a time in ECB. Help....what am I missing.

(I was going every week when I first started, but frankly, it was stressing me out - how to get the right amount in each transaction, but mostly, how to NOT spend much out of pocket and get ECB for the next time)

I hardly ever spend more than $1 OOP. Late last year there were a lot of really good sales around the holidays with tons of money maker items. I maxed out all those deals plus there were more frequent $X/$XX coupons. Therefore, I was always earning back more ECB than I spent (as well as I planned my transactions with little to no OOP). Throw in there an online survey and I just built up a ton of ECB's. The last few months have been much quieter so my bucks have been slowly dwindling as I use them to purchase things I need. Unless I need something, I only do the deal if I will break even or come out ahead.

Does anyone know if the Craig DVD/CD player selling for $49.xx Sun/Mon only is any good? I'm just not very knowledgeable about electronics in general. :confused3 My $5/30 would bring it down to $44.xx but don't want to invest in it if it's poor quality. :confused3

I have literally no ECB on my main card. I have a $12 ECB on my sister's. I'm pretty well stocked on toothpaste, mouthwash and the like, right now I use mine to help lower the cost of the things I need (overnights, dish soap, etc) I buy the ECB items I can get free or use as MM with coupons. I've noticed as the ECB deals go down th coupon/sale deals are better. I got a a ton of almost free stuff after coupons & sale prices.

I LOVE to keep my oop low, but I do transfer my scripts back and forth to CVS and WAGS so I have a constant supply of GCs to supplement my CVSing.

My goal isn't necessairly free, but to get it as cheaply as I can. I'm willing to pay, just nowhere near full price. I have 3 kids, and supply all of the products for my teenage sister. I've also been able to give friends of mine bags of toothpaste and mothwash and have been able to donate to the food pantry at church.

Moral of the story.. find out what works for you and go with it. If you post what you want to buy and what coupons you have lots of people here can help with scenarios. Also keep your eyes open for the x/xx those can make a good deal even better

Thermacare heat wraps get $5 eb wyb $10 Limit 1

$3 IP http://www.thermacare.com/trythermacare/default.aspx

Has anyone printed this IP? are there any limitations or is it for a specific kind? If not this could turn out to be a nice deal.

I'm more like puffkin, I will only buy "stuff" if it's 100% free or a moneymaker. It used to really add up, I had close to $200 on my one card around Christmas last year. Now it's down to about $40 just because it's been really hard to roll the ECB's and I buy milk, bread, etc. just to spend them. If you go in thinking, "well it's not free, but it's a good deal" then it's hard to actually build up the ECBs. If you only get the free stuff then with some good mfg and $/$$ coupons you can build ECB's easily.

I've heard that Craig's products are terrible quality. No personal experience but I've read quite a few bad reviews.

When you use a raincheck for a free after ecb item. Do most CVS's have a way to print an ecb for the item?

It depends on how old the raincheck is for. They used to price adjust the item for you. For example if you had something that was free after ecb's you would get it for free then, no cash payout. And you could still use a coupon and get the overage on another item. Now, with the # by ecb offer I think they can 'force' print the ecb buck for you if it is out of the promotional period.

Hope this makes sense and helps.

It seems the limit is still 1 for the playtex, colgate, clearsil, revlon, and coppertone. It is 2 for the bandaids and speedstick. I was hoping one of them might have been higher.

Good deals though!
