Cvs weekly 1/31-2/6

Okay, this is my first time at CVS-ing. I went last week and did the Axe, Toothpaste and Eyeshadow deal so I had $10 in ECB going into this week (but spent $34 - yikes. The first CVS I went to today only had 1 of the Dove Men bodywash left, so I got it, 3 things of Skippy, and 3 things of Ragu (and a Hot Wheels car for my son, the king of impulse shopping). I had $3.15 in coupons, and used my $10 ECB - total OOP for $17.18 in goods - $5.21 - and I received $8.49 in ECBs! Yay!

So then I went to another CVS to try and score another Dove body wash, but they were sold out. (Question - someone mentioned getting rainchecks - how does that work with ECB's?) So I got 4 Cokes towards the $25 total (will go back later for some more stuff), the toothpaste and 2 boxes of cereal (on sale - no ECB). I had $1.50 in coupons and used my $8.49 in ECBs to get $11.99 in goods for $2.00 (before tax) with $2 back in ECBs! Not a bad day!

I'll be going back later in the week just to see if they've gotten any more of the Dove deal and to finish out the $25 P&G deal, but so far I'm hooked. I've been trying to only get stuff that we need or would use. Next week's ad doesn't look all that great for us, though, I might have to skip it.

Sooo my husband thought my $10/$50 coupon was trash and ripped it in half. The barcode and the line that says "Extra Care Card xxxx" still shows, though. Any idea if they'll take it?

I wanted to do the diapers and the coke.
I might just try the $5/$20 at my store and see if they'll take it and check out twice.

I loooove Coke so much more than Pepsi so I am hoping to get some this week.

Yes, they will take it if you can see the bar code.

Rainchecks work the same as the deal, but they manually print the extra bucks for you and adjust the price if it's higher. You can also still use mfg. coupons too. I like to staple that part of the ad to my raincheck so they have the "offer number" - that way they still get credit from the mfg. for the extra bucks.

Thanks, for both bits of information.

I really don't think I have anyone in my area who watches the CVS ads. I've never been to a CVS that didn't have everything I went for and there are 3 within 5 minutes of my house.

I was at CVS today. There was a coupon posted on the door of the diet coke cooler (on a little pull off pad) for $1 off when you buy (1) 20 oz coke and (1) pringles or (1) powerade and (1) pringles - must buy the two items but this would be a great supplement to the $25 coke. It was not posted with the pringles or the powerade.

Thank you so much for posting this deal. I found the tearpads at my second store tonight. Between two stores and two cards I did the Dove for Men on one card (the other store was out of stock), The Huggies twice, the free Colgate twice and then the Pringles/Powerade deal once. I did get enough tearpads to go back and do it again later this week if I want.

My big excitement was that I had a raincheck left for 5 Thermacares for free from loooong ago. The second store I went to had them in stock finally. The clerk asked me if I'd like to break apart the ECB's instead of putting them into one lump sum (very nice). Then he had a problem with the register and had to go print them out at the pharmacy. When he came back he gave me 5 ECB's for $3 each, even though the deal was $2.49 each. I'm not sure why he ran it through this way, but it was fine with me! :thumbsup2 This is one of my favorite stores and clerks in the area.

I mulled around doing the $15/$5 deal with the Softsoap/Irish Spring/Speed Stick, but it wasn't worth it for me. I did find, though, a specific kind of men's speedstick that was on clearance for $1.00. I bought two of those using a $1 off of two coupon. You might want to keep your eyes open for that one! The two dollars I spent on these did count toward the Softsoap deal at the end of my receipt. This might be a good filler to get you up to $15 if you need it.

Thanks for clearing that up for me!

Lanajae, I sent you an email, thanks!

I will let you all know what I ended up doing from my ad, off the top of my head there is $.77 Palmolive, $2.99 J&J baby care (have a friend who just had a baby, which is why I was so excited for the diaper deal) and a free colgate toothpaste or toothbrush deal. Oh, and 2/$1 soups and VO5, and I have to look at my coupon to see if it will work for that size but possibly free extra large Hershey bars, otherwise they are 2/$1. That's so pitiful! :p

I hope something good comes along because I have like $60 in ECB's right now!

Raincheck forced ecbs round up. So anything $2.99 goes to $3, $5.50 goes to $6 etc. so that is why you got $3. Rainchecks are great!

Hey lanajae :) or anyone,
How do you use coupons when you redeem rainchecks? Do you have everything rung up, especially if using a $5/20, then hand them the coupons, and then the rain check?

Everyone is doing great this week, and here I thought it was going to be a quiet week.

I got it and sent one back :)

It doesn't matter, they just ring the items up, you don't have to point out the raincheck unless the cost is less on the raincheck, then they use the raincheck to manually print the extra buck(s) after you pay. They used to price modify them to zero and then coupons didn't work, but this is much better now.

Yes, the rainchecks i have are also for sale prices, and i also have coupons to use too, which is why i wondered how to use them when i check out?

Just say, "I have a raincheck for X, Y and Z and the price needs adjustment to a sale price." Then you might have to remind them to manually print the extra bucks at the end too.

I mentioned this o the lady at check out that most of the stuff was gone and she stated that the store was WAY busier then they expected (it just opened 2 weeks ago so they don't know the traffic yet).

I'm thrilled because I'm already getting money in my upromise account ($0.41 from buying Bic razors with my b1g1 coupon last week) and expected to get money from my Bounty paper rolls (its like $0.02 for the towls but then I get another $2.00 for having the ecoupon activated!)

Hey ladies! I'm back on the DIS! My delivery went very well considering all my complications and I'm doing OK. I was in the hospital for a week, and got home last wednesday night. :thumbsup2 Smiller is here helping out and it is wonderful.:goodvibes

I'm happy things went well with the delivery! Although, I think if you spent a week in the hospital, it had to be serious. I know they don't like to keep you in very long anymore! I was kicked out the next morning when I had my oldest (she was born at 5 pm the night before, but since I had been in labor for 24 hours and in the hospital from the night before that, my time was up!!) So, I'm glad you feel good enough to come on here and post after that ordeal!

I'm not sure how close I am to you, but if you need anything that I could do, just PM me. I live in the far north suburbs - but I work in Lincoln Park.

Maggie
