Cvs & rite aid 4/3-4/9 week COME SEE

After tax our total at CVS this week ended up $2.10, and we got $7.50 in ECB. Also, I only need to spend another $12.50 on the P&G products to get the $10 back, so I'll probably figure out another transaction to get that.

DH went with me and he was so embarrassed. :P

Good week for me! So glad I made DH switch to the Complete solution a few years ago. We haven't paid for solution since!!!

On both cards I did: Complete, Crest rinses, Rightguard Bodywash, GUM flossers, and Oral B toothbrushes. I broke even for the week.

At Rite Aid I did the TENA (great moneymaker), Poligrip (my inserts didn't have the coupon but still free), scrunci, Gilette Fusions and Nasadocks. I came out about $5 ahead there!

I was pretty impressed with my speed, hit 2 CVS and 2 Rite Aid and got home in 1.5 hours!
:cool1: very impressed girl:thumbsup2

I think I had a "personal best" week at CVS this week !!! I'm so proud!!

this is what I got :

P & G deal
2 - Gain (had $1.00 coupons for each)
2 - Dawn (had $ .50 coupons for each)
2 - Herbal Essence conditioner ( had $ 1.00 off 2 coupon)

1 - Crest Complete Rinse ( had $ 1.00 coupon)
1 - Crest Clinical Gum toothpaste ( had $ 1.00 coupon)

2 - Butler Flosses ( had $ .75 coupons for each) money maker

after using the $ 4.00 off $20 coupon, my quarterly ECB $ 5.50 and various other ECB, I paid $ 4.20 and got back $ 19.00 in ECB !!!

So then, I got the Fiber One Cereal.... I bought 4 boxes ( 2 for $6.00) had a $ .75 coupon for each box. Came out to $ 9.00. I wound up having to buy a few caramels to get it to $ 10.00 so I could use a $ 10.00. So I paid $.94 cash (for tax). for 4 boxes of Fiber One!!!:banana:

and if you're wondering.....who EATS Fiber One?? well, DH loves the stuff and if you ever follow Hungry Girl, it's a staple item for "faux frying"...you crush it up and substitute the Fiber one in place of breadcrumbs...then bake. So this sale makes the cereal SOOOOO cheap !!! I still have $ 9.00 ECB, so we're going tonight to get more cereal !

I'm not even kidding, it was one of my happiest CVS days EVER !!!!! The checkout girl was in awe !!! :rotfl: Thank you again Flaky for helping keep us all afloat !!!
WOW thanks for writing out my list for me:rotfl2: I am going to do it exactly:rotfl2: It takes all of us to keep this thread going. Thank you for posting your list. It is great to get some ideas.

Thank you everyone, and Flaky especially, for all your threads every week. I haven't posted much lately but I'm grateful for all your help. Its been a difficult year and I haven't had a chance to CVS very much, but i'm hoping to get going again. My budget has missed it! :)

And re the kids going in to CVS, i totally relate! But my one dd is getting into it now with all the beauty deals!

So thanks again everyone!

so....this is my 2nd week doing this- I noticed last week CVS sales were WAY higher than the grocery sales on the same stuff, even with ECB it wasn't worth what I wanted :confused3
anyway- I got some stuff last week,saved around 10.00,got 4.50 ecb- this week spent 23.00-saved 20.00 got 15.00 ecb-plus 10% off beauty stuff + 5.00 off a facial product (can't remember what it was) my best bargain was the buy 3 boxes special K-get 4.00 ecb- I had a coupon for 3.50 off 3 boxes,so total was 6.50 for 3 boxes,minus the 4.00 ecb's.....2.50 for 3 boxes of cereal!:thumbsup2
I am not too experienced yet,but I'm learning! did the toothpaste sales, crest rinse, and free flossers(even I,in my newbie state caught that one!):cool1:

Has anyone used any of the John Frieda shampoos? I have two coupons and with the ecb I think I could buy two shampoos for $3.00--which would be a good deal if the shampoos are good.

Any opinions?

I am new to couponing and have just started stacking coupons at Walgreens and Rite Aid. We do not have a Kroger or CVS within 30 miles. Sav-A-Lot is the only "chain" grocery store (besides WalMart). Others are locally owned and do not offer any doubles or triples. Freds will double coupons up to .75 on Saturday and that's it.

I just don't seem to be able to walk out of anywhere with anything for free. I have gotten a few bargains (cereal at Walgreens for $1.38, M&Ms for $1) and even caught myself buying razors (not DH's brand) because I got them for $1.99 and I am SO mad at myself for buying them today!

I guess I am just frustrated that I don't seem to be getting anything for free, no MM, and don't have a stockpile of anything but shampoo.

You guys seem like reasonable couponers....HELP ME PLEASE :upsidedow

I really like the John Frieda shampoo. It is my shampoo of choice and love it when there is a sale. I like the Green bottle kind - don't remember the name. Maybe root something??

I wonder if you are getting stuff for free and just don't realize it. This is the hardest concept for some of my friends to understand. Sometimes you are spending money OOP but still are either making money or getting something for free.

I shop at Rite Aid, so for example:

The deal this week is buy Colgate at $2.50 and get a $2 UP. You have a $1 coupon and no UP rewards. So you pay $1.50 for the Colgate OOP and you walk out with a $2 UP. You just made .50 cents on that deal even though you spent cash.

Then next week, say Shampoo is on sale for $3 with a $1 UP and you have a $1 coupon. So you pay with $0 OOP ($3-$1 coupon-$2 UP from last week) and you leave the store with a $1 UP. Your cost was actually $1 that week even though you OOP was $0. I wouldn't do this deal unless you need the shampoo.

Another concept that many of us use is to purchase items we don't need if they are free or next to nothing and continually "roll" our UP's forward (so they don't expire). Eventually a deal will come up for a product we do need. At this point hopefully I have built up enough UP's to get that product for free. For example this week I bought the TENA was $9.99 with a $9.99 rebate. I had a $2.50 coupon so made $2.50 on othat deal. I used that "overage" to get the Gilette razors which my husband needs. They came out to $1.99 cost, but with the overage from the Tena of $2.50 it covered that cost and I still came out a little ahead.

Once you build up a stockpile that $2 bottle of shampoo that may have been a great deal to you before is really too expensive because you have 10 bottles sitting in your stockpile that you got for free. So even though it is a good price you can pass on it. That is where we are at. Unless it is free or next to nothing, I don't get it unless it is something we need right now.

I may be and just don't see it YET. I just know when I walked out of Wag I had spent $32 and didn't seem like I really had much to show for it. Thanks for all the suggestions.

Hang in there. Sometimes I get a little frazzzzzzzled too. It is hard with kids in tow. Even my older teens I end up spending more and I feel rushed. Sit down and do you coupon match ups with a list and that will help. You will be able to see exactly what you are paying. Everyone here is so good. Many will post a list:rolleyes1 I copy that sometimes:worship: It wont take long.
