CVS ECB deals - Sales for Week 7/15-7/21

Woo Hoo! DH needs his blood pressure medicine renewed!! :cool1: I had him fill the original prescription at Walgreens last month, now I can transfer it to CVS!! There is still a valid transfer prescription coupon, isn't there???

Maggie

Yes there is.

On another note I got garbage for coupons in todays paper :guilty: Not sure if it is the are or just the store I purchased it from but the only coupon I got was $1 off the Purex - almost nothing else I would use!

did anybody else get the free hershey cacao bar coupon??? i am so excited to see these again!!! I think I am going to try for that $15 of $20 products but i just dont see anything worth my while for he $30 products page. And I think the best I have if its still valid is the $5 shower cleaner not $7 :(

My CVS had quite the ordeal (an hour and a half) trying to put through the prescription coupon, sure it is the same, printed it out. I never got a straight answer as to what the problem was and how they fixed it. I ended up leaving and they called as soon as I got home. The called customer service and didn't see it linked to an ECC, the pharmicist also said she has never seen one linked, because some people don't even have the ECCards. So who knows! I have another I want to fill, but don't want to go through that ordeal again!

I took my mom this morning, she wanted to see me in action cause she could never figure out how I was able to get so much from CVS. Here's what we got:

Order #1
1 Automatic Shower Cleaner $18
4 boxes of Lipton tea $10
6 family sized boxes of tissues $12
3 packs of mechanical pencils $1
18 count box of Alavert
After coupons of $23
CVS ECB's of $11.89
$10 off $50
$4 off $20
Total OOP was $2.10! ECBs earned $20.00

Order #2
2 Vive Shampoo (BOGO) 2 @ $5.19 each
3 boxes of tissues $6.00
12 pack of diet Pepsi $2.75
2 Dry Idea deodorant $5.00
Coupons of $5.19
$3/15
ECBs of $10.00
Total OOP was about $.80, ECBs earned $2.00

Not bad for today!:cool1:

OK, this is crazy addictive. Only my third week at it, and I'm quickly catching on. Quick question though: if I spend at least $50 (non-prescription, non-alcohol, blah blah blah), can I use the $10 off $50, $5 off $30 AND the $4 off $20 coupons? If not, what are the "rules" about using those guys?

TIA!!!

Yes! I got this hershey coupon today, but didn't see it until AFTER I got home from shopping. :headache:

Those purchases are utterly amazing to me. I'm just staring out, and I spent about $30 OOP but got $17 ECBs today, so I'm hoping I'll be able to do some utterly amazing shopping next week. You are an inspiration! :rotfl:

Unfortunately thats where things get hazy. It is up to the individual stores if they will allow stacking. I have never pushed the envelope on these and have only used 1 money off coupon per transaction and have not asked but many many others have and are able to stack. I do believe you should be able to use multiples if you have a sum total before them but am questionable about using all those in 1 $50 transaction but that is me and I have no problems with people who can and do. I think if I had a 4/20 & 5/30 I would need to have a purchase of at least $50 before using both but again, that is me. If you are comfortable with it ask your sales clerk at your frequent store and they will tell you what their policy is (at that time, with that clerk, on that day  ) It seems that once you start spending nothing OOP and using stacking coupons they will try to change tactics on you so I use 1 money off per transaction so I know going in what my totals are. Hope this wasn't as confusing as it sounds :confused3

The 1st couple trips you will pay a little OOP - I think my start up cost was in the vicinity of $40. But once you get used to things and starting rolling you will learn the tricks and be spending under $5 per transaction. I aim for under $2. Alot of the times I can spend just cents and try to break up my transactions in such a way that I am in that bracket. I would say monthly I spend in the area of $20 at CVS and I am getting hundreds of dollars in product. Most of what I have purchased is for personal consumption (we are a family of 4 - 2 boys/2 girls) and I do pass it on to my siblings (6) and grandmother as well. I use alot of the shampoos, conditioners, lotions, makeup stuff in gift baskets or add ons to presents. Have fun and WELCOME aboard!

I've gone back and read through a ton of CVS threads on here. Very helpful!:thumbsup2 I'm just wondering, where are you all getting these 4 off $20 coupons, and such?

Also, on some of the old threads it states that ECBs print on your receipt at your next transaction or 48 hours later. In my (limited) experience the ECBs have printed immediately. Am I missing something? :surfweb:

If you look at the CVS threads from the last couple of months, the link to the $4/20 coupon should be in one of them.

I believe it changed several months ago, they now print out immediately. They used to print 2 days later. I'm glad they changed it because, quite frankly, my short term memory is like Dory and I would forget about one if it didn't print and I wouldn't realize it!

When an offer is BOGO or you get a free item (ex Pepsi) with your card, do they count those items (freebie or free one in BOGO) towards your total????

Trying to reach the $50 and want to know what I can count.

Thanks for the clarification.:)

Oops, forgot to add: Can you do 2 different transactions and then IMMEDIATELY use the ECB's from the 1st order on the 2nd??

I just learned the hard way that they do count those items to your total, then take them off -

did anybody else get the free hershey cacao bar coupon??? (

i got one in the washington post.... but all my other coups were crap...

Even got a SPAM coupon....so wrong...:confused3

Wasn't even close to the ones on the Taylortown list....

I got the Cacao one but it expires next week. i thought that was kinda odd. With all of the papers I collect from my friends I will have 6-7 of them so I am excited. I am new to this and I think i have caught on pretty well. I have to go to a farther away CVS because I got into it with the old lady at the one down from me since she would not take my BOGO sunsilk Q along with the CVS BOGO deal. I think I am banned...

Does anyone know if ALL Lamisil/Lamisilk products are eligible for the $15 ECB deal? Or is it only the one's pictured in the ad. I learned the hard way of reading the fine print and making sure it's the exact item pictured.

I believe it is ALL of the produts - at my CVS there were only three to choose from - 2 different tubes of cream/scrub and a jar of something else (can't remember) - I bought two of the scrubs and one cream and I got the $15 ECB back

We were in Nashville, TN this weekend and of course got the Nashville paper. Great coupons!! When we got home, my Sunday paper had hardly any Q's in it!! I feel your pain but at least I got the good Q's from the TN paper.

I do not count the free one on the B1G1 free items when it is a CVS sale item. When I am using a B1G1 mfg coupon I do count it. The way I work my totals (and it has been pretty accurate most of the time) is I take the sale price of all items and add them. If it is a B1G1 item I count the total of 1 item towards the sum of all items. Then I deduct my $/$$ coupons, then mfg coupons and see what my balance is. Then I pay that down with ECB's and get my actual OOP.

For example: Vive Pro Shampoo on sale this week for B1G1 free. I would not count the 2nd shampoo towards my total as CVS is giving it free. However if I had the B1G1 mfg coupon I would be able to use it and get BOTH free. I would count the cost of 1 towards my total to hit the $50 increment even though I was getting it free after mfg coupon.

Also you can instantly use your ECB's so yes you can take them from transaction 1 and put them to transaction 2. Usually I will take #1 out to the car or step aside and get back in line if I am doing that so I can cut them out and make sure everything is straight before transaction #2.

Transaction #1
10.00 - 4 boxes of tea bags (100 ct.) I was surprised as I thought they would be the smaller packages on sale!!! :cool1: So 400 tea bags  I'll also get another 400 with card #2.
9.99 - Iams Cat Food
1.50 - Dum Dum Lollipops
-4/20
-2.00 - lipton MQ x4
-9.99 - Iams MQ (mailing)
-4.50 ECB's
Paid $1.00 OOP and got back $5 for tea - we are big tea drinkers & I will bring a box to Gram's. Houdini got his Iams fix and Dum Dums are for work bowl.

Transaction #2
11.00 - 4 packs of pepsi products
2.75 - max diet pepsi (free WYB 4)
6.50 - 2 revlon eye makeups on clearance
3.00 - deposit for soda (we do recycle so I will get this back in the long run  )
-4/20
-2.75 Free max diet pepsi
-2.75 Free max diet pepsi coupon printable
-6.00 revlon MQ x2
-7 ECB's
Total $0.75 OOP and no ECB's back. Many of you know I've been doing the ECB thing for awhile so I have a surplus and can lose a few here and there. I will make them back hopefully on a couple other deals this week, if not this week then over a couple weeks.
