CVS ECB Deals - Sales for Week 4/20/08-4/26/08

Found 3 of the big size softsoap body wash and got those. Got a speedstick and 3 free Adidas deos (had coupons for those). Also picked up some Bogo Hershey's Kisses and had coupons. Got about $55 worth of stuff for $1 OOP. The girl behind the pharmacy counter was so excited for me!

Someone mentioned earlier that there was a vinegar deal this month, does anyone know what it is? My CVS has vinegar for $1.99 and the mthly ECB is $1.00 so it is still $.99 unless someone knows of a coupon at there???????

Did anybody else get a little M&M bank in the mail today? It came with a post card that said " thanks for choosing M&M brand candies during the week of March 9th from CVS and M&Ms"......I don't know what I did that earned me this little guy so he was an unexpected surprise.

Where do you find your clearance items? Are they in the regular spots just with clearance tags? My store has two shelves near the pharmacy with a "sale" items but nothing is marked clearance.

Does CVS unusually not allow coupons on clearance items? After Easter, I had a Dove coupon that I tried to use on some candy and the clerk said that the register wouldn't take it since the candy was 50% off but she pushed it through.

Had to go to CVS today to get my Rx filled. I have strep throat! Lucky me! I only wish I'd had a gift card coupon to use.

On another note, my aunt/uncle came into town without telling anyone. Things are VERY tight money wise for them. And since they drove their van in (from Arizona to Maryland!), I loaded them up with 5 copy paper size boxes of stuff!!! They were so excited. And my uncle is diabetic and uses the glucose monitors and was super excited to see that I had 6 for him!

Thanks! I have been giving stuff to my mom, sister, bro-in-law, friends, etc. They are all so stocked that they've told me to leave them alone.

Strep is a bummer, sorry to hear you got it and hope you quickly recover. And GREAT job loading up your aunt and uncle.

I've had strep more times than I can count as an adult. If it wasn't much more risky for an adult to have their tonsils removed (and I wasn't so damn scared!), I'd have them removed.

DH is on this high protein diet so we went to CVS last nite to get him some protein bars. Of course none of the ones that are on sale or generate ECBs were the ones he wanted - he had to get the ones that are $2.49 EACH! My total last nite was $98 but I got it down to an OOP of $10 after coupons (Alavert, Adidas Deodorant, Mennen) and ECBs and we got things we did need (paper plates, Cascade, paper towels) too.

Does he like the SoyJoy bars? I like them well enough, but just never eat them. I've got a bag of like 40 or 50 that you can have!

That's the one! I don't think mine were clearance though. But honestly, I didn't pay attn to how much they rang up, I just noticed that the girl put in the full $4.99 off for each coupon, so I bet I got some overage.

Anywhere and everywhere. If I read that something is on clearance at another store, I will check it on the price checker. Most of my stores mark everything, the urban stores here don't do a separate clearance section.

It depends on if the store actually sets the clearance price (and changes it in their system) or over-rides the price on the register. Some stores take the item out of their system and then ring it up as either taxable or non-taxable, if they do it like that, then coupons won't work.

Some clearance items are set system-wide (everywhere). Sometimes stores want to go lower than the CVS schedule and will reset it to regular price and adjust at the register (most do this with 90% off because it's easier to adjust it at the register). Also some stores over-ride the CVS clearance and mark everything back to normal price. Other stores send all their clearance to another store. It can be very frustrating.

I got rheumatic fever when I was 15 because I didn't show positive to a strep test and it was the first wave of the antibiotic over-use scare. Thankfully because of what happened to me, my kids' doctor will say if it looks like strep and smells like strep, it's strep, even if the culture doesn't show it. Now they have a titer which will show it when the rapid test and the culture doesn't, but it's expensive to do that and not good to wait that long.

My friend's daughter was 19 when she got her tonsils out and she still gets it and her recovery was awful and the surgery was dangerous at her age.

Here it all depends. If the item scans at a reduced price then you can use the coupon (like with the Adidas) BUT if the item has a price over the barcode so they don't scan it but manually enter it then NOPE you can not use a coupons. They had Lamisilk foot scrub on clearance for $3.49 so I got 2 but they would not have let me use my B1G1 coupon on that.

Is there a deal on Powerbar brand nutritional bars? One of my area CVSs had a sign up that they generate ECBs making them free. I bought two, but the ECBs didn't print because these bars were marked down due to expiration date. The manager said that the other store that have Powerbars normal price should generate the ECB. Is this a hidden deal or did I miss it on the flyer?

DMom spotted this deal - we both bought 2 PowerBar Nut Naturals Fruit & Nuts flavor. On sale with card $1 each, was supposed to print $1 ECB each, limit 2. (I spotted another flavor marked at another store.)

No ECBs printed. We inquired, ended up with 2-3 employees helping us and the supervisor, and finally I was just handed $2 in cash.

I haven't tried it on my other card yet, but I think I just might! Why not?

I lurk on the CVS threads. So I'm finally coming out of lurkdom to say thank you to everyone that has truly mastered the CVS system and has shared it with me! I've gotten so many free things (useful and not so useful but will be donated!) and it has helped me stretch my budget further (so hopefully another Disney trip will be soon to follow!!!).

Check EVERYWHERE for the larger bottles. I have 2 CVS's in town and both were out of the smaller bottles from almost day 1. Went into just 1 of them today and noticed 3 small bottles, 2 purples and 1 aqua, on the shelves and scooped them up. Was down at the other end of the store and was surprised to see a huge display on an endcap with lots of the bigger bottles. No ECBs sign on the endcap, guess that's why they didn't yet run out of stock. Wound up not getting the smaller bottles, just a couple of the bigger bottles as I was low on ECBs and didn't want to spend much oop.

Just when I had given up I stopped at one of the stores here today and they had just restocked the shelves with the larger size Softsoaps. I got my limit of 5 I am keeping some and my mom is getting some even though she doesn't know it yet I might hit the other store tomorrow with my other card.

Glad you are feeling a little better I haven't had strep since I was a kid but a few years ago my tonsils got infected and I thought my throat would swell shut They didn't suggest taking them out, maybe I'm too old for that now
