ROFR Frustration

Anecdotally, I'd bet a Dole Whip that if you search for problems on this site, first for Fidelity, and then for, say, DVC Resale Market (picked because of size/volume of sales), you'll find the issues with Fidelity to outnumber those of DVC Resale market by orders of magnitude.

It's not a matter of whether one person had a good experience, it's a matter of how many out of 100 have a bad experience. One would assume that the "majority" of sales for most of the brokers proceed without a hitch. It's the percentage of negative experiences, even if they are in the minority, that make the difference.
May be true but we just don't have data. Your inference is purely anecdotal also - though possibly true.

Likely why I specifically used the term "anecdotal" in my original post. While we obviously don't have empirical data to determine which broker makes the most mistakes, there are absolutely far more reports regarding the mistakes made by Fidelity. Anecdotally of course.

I don't think it's a problem that some people report good experiences with Fidelity and others don't. If the idea is that everyone should just avoid Fidelity, that's nuts. Of course people are going to keep using them, they have the most DVC contracts listed after the board sponsor. It's not like you can say ooh I like this Fidelity listing but I'll just try to find another broker to buy it through. I'm more interested in whether a company makes things right when an error occurs, which is what seems to have happened for Noodlez. Not amazing, but good that they followed through.
Agree. When I find the right contract and the seller meets my terms I'm going to buy it regardless of the broker. Even if they don't appear as reliable as others. I suppose if I have a choice of contracts to bid on I could try for the more reputable brokers first, but I would always weight use year/number of points/loaded or stripped/how long on the market more.

The one thing I can say about Fidelity going a bit above and beyond is that I submitted my offer late on a Saturday, not expecting to hear anything until Monday. Then on Sunday morning the broker reached out and an hour later, my offer had been accepted. That was the one thing that impressed me, after that everything was competent, and I had no complaints. I've noticed a lot of the complaining about fidelity is in older threads when I've searched for them, I wonder if they've tried to improve their reputation more recently, because I feel like the more positive comments towards them are more recent.

They’ve been fine with me so far but if you just look a page back on this thread you’ll see multiple current issues with them. So no.

Well this definitely isn't an older thread! I admit that the person I was initially dealing with was extremely helpful and friendly until I had paid my deposit. I was very impressed until that point. After that I had silence. I am very grateful to the person who helped me in the end and who also admitted what had happened, but I am not happy about the deception from the others. If I had stayed dealing with the same people they would have never told me the truth, and it might still not have gone to ROFR!

I am really glad that they have made things right and I am happy with the outcome, but they still have a lot of things they can improve.

It sounds to me like everyone simply assumed the process was followed, the ROFR in Disney's hand, and they were now waiting. It wasn't until someone looked to check and make sure it had been sent off that "oops." And anyone can make that sort of processing mistake, but anecdotally, we do seem to hear Fidelity makes them more than others - and they didn't take the time to double check with the first call from the buyer.

I can. It's fidelity (https://www.fidelityrealestate.com/brand/disney-vacation-club/) I didn't want to though as it may not be something they've done wrong. It could be a DVC issue. I'm frustrated with them either way though as the last unsolicited contact was on the 2nd! Everything else I've had to beg for a reply.
This seems to be a trend with Fidelity. Similar happened to me. Someone at their office was either slow to submit or slow to act once the ROFR was received from Disney, and they don’t admit to it.

While we're on the topic of Fidelity - b/c this is my 1st time working with them - on average how long does it take to receive contract after an offer has been accepted/buyers info has been provided? With my other resale contracts, it has literally been a few hours - at most by COB if offer was accepted in the AM.

The initial purchase and sale contract is from the broker, not the title company. A day or so?

I’m not trying to assign blame, I’m trying to work out if I’m being lied to. If everything has been done right I could pass ROFR at any moment, but if they didn’t submit it then I can stop checking my emails!
I’m going through the same thing right now, it’s very frustrating 😭 I got an email saying it was sent on 3/28 it was over 52 days when I called Disney myself and my broker wasn’t getting back to me. Come to find out they didn’t even submit it til April 24th. I called and left another message for my broker. She texted me 2 days later and said she’s contacting Disney now and waiting to hear back. I already know why, but I’m curious to see if they’re lying to me. I’m super worried now Especially since they weren’t rofr’d any of my home resorts until this month. I feel like I may have missed out due to their mistake.

If it was submitted 4/24 you should hear Very soon now. Sorry you went thru this misery. On a happy note, as you already know, once you start booking trips this will be behind you like a tough dental visit lol.

If they are not filtered can you tell me who the broker is?

So sorry this happened and I am frustrated for you

This is eerily similar to our experience this past few months. Our broker also never reached out to update and then just quit responding to the point that I had to reach out to someone else in the brokerage and call member services.

Ours was "sent" to ROFR on 2/23 and finally passed 3/26.

Did you happen to use Fidelity and perhaps Bonnie?
Same here!!!!! She ghosted me too! I know I’m late to the party but I’m very frustrated over here. They supposedly sent my contract to ROFR on 3/28 I waited my 30 days to 45 days. It was 52 days before I called Disney myself. They said it was sent to ROFR on April 24th almost a full month later… I called Bonnie and left a voicemail asking if she has heard any updates as it’s been 52 days. She texted me 2 days later and said she’s reaching out to Disney to see what’s going on. I already know the reason why. They submitted it a month later. I’m just curious to see if they’re going to continue to lie to me. I’m just he try frustrated as because they weren’t ROFR any of my home resort. Now this month they are. It just makes me very uneasy as I still haven’t heard back. Had they sent j

i know I’m late to this party, but I’m just very frustrated Bonnie has ghosted me completely. It was supposed to sent over to ROFR on 3/28 it went
No, they weren't able to help. However, when I asked if they could confirm if it was sent to ROFR on the day I asked them, they suddenly became very "corporate answer". I get they are not going to throw 3rd party brokers under the bus, but the conversation definitely changed. FYI< I called the DVC number , then they have a selection for checking in on resale purchases, then one on the ROFR. I just had to go through the process.

when I called out Fidelity to ask them to confirm the day it was sent I suddenly started getting very canned responses.

Every time I asked Bonnie anything it was like I was bothering her. We bought a small contract and it just felt like we a nuisance to her.
I’m literally going through the same exact thing right now and it’s very frustrating because she’s not responding back to me and I feel like I’m bothering her. Come to find out I signed my contract 3/28 I was on day 52 when I called Disney to find out. They didn’t even send it over to ROFR until 4/24 a month later!! It’s just very frustrating because they weren’t taking back any contracts at my potential home resort until this month that monster, it’s awake for me now 😭 I don’t think I would ever use fidelity again let alone Bonnie.

I really hope!!! I just hope I pass! They weren’t taking back any of my potential home resort contracts, now they are 😭

It was fidelity I don’t think I will ever work with them again.

Okay I see the above post now. There should be someone else that handles stuff not Bonnie. I am not making excuses for her but after contract acceptance you are assigned someone who handles the inquires. Also reach out to them. Call as many times as you need dont worry if you are bothering her, she needs to be bothered.

This. And if you don't receive a response after one business day, call and ask for someone else (maybe she has a Broker, if she is just an Agent) to help you. FWIW, I filed a complaint with the Florida Timeshare Department (on something different) and they took it very seriously, someone got back to me in about a week but they were very professional ;)

I am most definitely going to be calling! I messaged the lady who sent me the rofr email. I asked her a couple questions, she hit me with “we do let you know once we hear from Disney, I have added your agent to this thread” basically stop asking me type thing. Lol
