CVS ECB Deals ~ Sales for Week 3/1-3/7

I stopped on my way home today and bought a couple Lumene products. Got two bottles of eye makeup remover. They were 6.49 each...but I had 2 of the $4.00 coupons. Decided to pay oop instead of using ECB's and it was $6.15 for both. I think I will get one more of those and one of the $2.99 creams, use 2 more $4.00 coupons and get my $5 ECB. :cool1:

There are 3 different CVS's between my work and home. I have checked all three and no luck on the robes. I think I might go to another part of town on my lunch hour tomorrow or Fri and see if that CVS has them. Too good a deal not to try to find one.

Wow! We are on Facebook! That is so cool. Thanks for setting us up leagirl12!! Now, I'm afraid my family will learn how bad my obsession with CVS really is.:lmao:

A long time ago, I made myspace accounts for my husband and I and we both kept getting all these messages from people that were, how do I put it... asking for something that I cannot write about here :rotfl2: The weird thing was that they lived in this area and used their real names.
:scared1:Yea, myspace frightens me.:scared1:

I think the cashier gave me money out of his pocket last night!! :lmao:

I went to Walgreens to get the Dove soap deal. I had 8 bars of soap and one .25 Easter bag for a filler. I used the $8 Register Reward from the Blink deal and my total was .78. So I had a Walgreens gift card but didn't know how much was on it. I gave it to the young, male cashier and said I wasn't sure if anything was on it. Of course, there wasn't. Then I said, "Oh, shoot. I didn't plan that well because I am not sure if I have .78." And I felt silly putting .78 on my credit card. (My debit card expired 2/28 and I am still waiting for my new one.) So I am digging through my wallet counting pennies and I see out of the corner of my eye the cashier reach into his pocket and seem like he put something on the counter. So I said, "Oh, yes, I think I have it (as I count out 18 pennies)." So the change is all on the counter and he recounts it all and somehow I get back lots of change? :confused3 I said, "Oh, did I miscount by that much? Wait, is that quarter yours?" He said no and handed me my receipt! :teacher: I think the poor kid felt sorry for this crazy lady who was counting out pennies to buy some soap. :rotfl:

I'm not 100% sure he put money there, but I also didn't think I miscounted that much!

Maggie
That's so funny!

Edit Here is the coupon.... Shrink it to about 85% or 90% http://www.lumene.fi/default.asp?docId=25640&isEmail=true&noLink=true

The deal is spend $20 get $5 ecb back
Thanks for the coupon! I don't remember where it came from either. But, it has been around for a long time. I remember using it last year for an ecb deal.

Puffkin

I sent your coupons out last night.

I'm on Facebook too, although I had to promise that I wouldn't ask to be friends with my kids. That would be so "not cool......":scared1:

It really is cool though. I found a old friend that moved to China. And there are some great Disney groups on Facebook. Another friend of mine uses it to post pictures of stuff that she is selling. It really is neat.

I have never been able to find the robes. The store closest to me rarely clearances anything and when they do, it seems they are 2 weeks behind everybody else. For instance, the Valentine stuff is only 50% off.....

Pam, if you make it over to Emmaus or Macungie, both of these CVS's have the robes (I know Emmaus had them 75% off on Saturday and they were still there tonight). Do you normally shop at the one on Rte 309?

thanks for the deals! I'm usually pretty good understanding the deals, but is the Lumene like this: Buy 7 of the $2.99 creams or wipes, use 7 $4 coupons, get 5 ecb at the end? I could totally use the 5 ecb profit to buy diapers (which I need NOW, but I don't want to pay even $13 after Q and ECB:lmao: ), but I don't know if I can find enough of those little things. I'll send my husband on a recon mission tomorrow to see if he can get it started. He'll love the "yes, they are little itty bitty cream containers, get a filler, and don't let the cashier turn down the coupon" instructions. Thank goodness he is usually a good sport.

LanaJae and all the other, I appreciate your clear explanations of the deals. I used to do great with HCW, but lately, they changed the format of the CVS weekly thread, and they no longer do coupon matchups, and it just isn't as clear as it used to be. Maybe the site is just getting bogged down by how big it is? It's such a huge job for the moderators. I try to put in as many Qs as possible in their database because that feature is PRICELESS, but I notice that there are alot that aren't in there. I recommend to everyone to add coupons there because it is the best tool I've found anywhere on the internet that has made couponing a time efficient event.

OMG, sorry about your car! I don't think those coupons exist either.

Somebody needs to write why facebook is addicting. I am on strict orders from my 21 year old not to make a Facebook account because he says I am too old. A long time ago, I made myspace accounts for my husband and I and we both kept getting all these messages from people that were, how do I put it... asking for something that I cannot write about here :rotfl2: The weird thing was that they lived in this area and used their real names.
LMHO..my kids said the same thing...I think they just dont want me to be cool:thumbsup2

Thanks so much for the coupon. Can I use more than one in a transaction?

I sent an email to CVS regarding the coupon policy. The scenario was for the Traiminic deal a few weeks ago - buy 2 get $5 ECB. I bought 2 items, had 2 $1 manufacturer coupons and a extra care coupon from the machine for "save $3 on any 2 triaminic/theraflu". I tried to use them both and was told by the clerk and manager that I could not, had to be 1 or the other.

Here is the reply from CVS....but I'm still a little confused:

Thank you for contacting CVS/pharmacy. I am in receipt of your e-mail regarding the coupon policy.

Our registers are set to allow 1 CVS coupon and 1 manufacturer coupon per item. CVS Extra Buck coupons are earned when you make a qualifying purchase. These print out instantly at the register upon reaching the threshold for the offer. Free coupons or “offers at the register” are unearned and issued to you as a valued member of the CVS/pharmacy ExtraCare program. These coupons take the form of “open ended” coupons such as $3 off $15 or a certain dollar amount off a specific item. In any given transaction our registers will allow only one “open ended” coupon per transaction and more than one Extra Buck coupon provided the purchase threshold has been met for each offer amount on a per-transaction basis.

I've always thought it was just a matter of having the same ratio of items as coupons. So if you have 3 coupons you need 3 items. It may vary by store. :confused3 But you should have been able to toss in a small filler, like a pencil or a carmel and still used all your coupons.

I had problems using the coupon for Sambucol printed directly from the Sambucol site. The Sambucol site even links directly to the Walgreens site! The cashier at Walgreens scanned my RR and all my coupons She stated that Walgreens doesn't accept coupons from the internet and how it would probably not scan. I simply stated I didn't know they didn't accept them and that I didn't see a sign saying they don't accept them. So she scanned it and it went right through no problem. She said well we'll take it just this one time since it scanned but no more after today. She was pretty rude about it and acted as if I had just typed up that coupon myself. IMHO she was pretty nasty all in all. And then when my $10 RR printed from the Dove soap she didn't like that either. She held on to it and was reading it. I had to ask her for it and ask if she was done and I could leave. :headache:

I'm going to shoot off an inquiry to Walgreens asking what the policy is for internet coupons.

BTW There are 2 different Colagate deals at Wags. The 4oz Advanced Colgate has a coupon in the ESC, combined with a mfg coupon of at least 50 cents it's free. The 6oz MaxFresh is free or MM after a $3.50RR prints, MM if you have a mfg coupon (March issue of All You has this coupon). The Dove deal was buy 8 bars of the Dove soap using the in ad coupon and you may (not printing in some places) get $10RR.

Technically you should have been able to use the coupon. Because CVS does allow 1 manu and 1 cvs coupon per item. But, according to cvs "register logic", you can't have more coupons than items purchases. So, if you had thrown in a small filler item, your deal would have worked just fine. Coupons are defined as manu coupons, crt's, x/xx and cvs coupons. I have never had an ecb count towards my coupon total. The following was found at afullcup.com.

http://www.afullcup.com/forums/679588-post11.html

"CVS Register logic
CVS "register logic", or Understanding how your CVS Register works

Total item count = each unit scanned counts as one to the total item count (items in store, GC, stamps, cigarettes, photo orders, etc.)

So the register logic says that if a customer purchases 8 items the most coupon deductions that can be rung in is 8. 10 items equals 10 deductions max and so on. “Coupon deductions” can be CVS coupons printed from the register or online, CVS $X off of $XX, manufacturer coupons, and possibly ECBs.

When you head for the register, count the items in your cart. Then I count the coupons you will use. If you have more than the number of items in your cart, you will likely have the register beep because register logic says that you aren't entitled to more deductions than items purchased even though CVS does allow for you to use 2 coupons (one manufacturer plus one CVS) on one item before using ECBs.

Most cashiers will force a coupon through manually when the register complains (aka beeps). You do have to be careful though because CVS does not allow you to get certain items for discounted or free with their ECB program. This includes stamps, cigarettes, and in some areas dairy.

thanks for the help understanding their reply. What is an "open ended" coupon?

Also, I had probably 6 other items in this transaction and it is not that the system would not accept the extracare coupon (not extra care buck)....the cashier flat out would not even try.

An example of an open ended coupon would be a $3 off $15, $4 off $20, etc.

As far as the cashier refusing to accept your coupon, she was wrong. I can't see any reason why should couldn't take those coupons. I would try calling the toll free number. You will probably get a better response than through email. They tend to send "canned" responses through email. Make sure you have the receipt in front of you before you call. They will take down the trans #, register #, store #, etc. Hopefully, they can give the manager & cashier some training in coupon usage.

I noticed this recently too. I used to enter a lot of coupons and then I slacked off, so thanks for the reminder! It's easy to add to the database using this list of unexpired newspaper coupons: http://www.taylortownpreview.com/id20.htm

I would be lost without HCW's database because I like to look up expired coupons since our CVS stores take them.

I rarely make it to the one on 309. I am in "suburban" Orefield. I just have an Orefield mailing address, we live in Upper Macungie Twsp. The closest to me is the Tilghman St one, which is the one that never clearances anything. I also hit the Krocks Rd one. I have to travel to Emmaus this afternoon, so I will have to hit those stores. Thanx for the heads up.

The newspaper article came out today, there are actually 3 different ones:

http://www.startribune.com/lifestyl...DUdcOy_nc:DKUiD3aPc:_Yyc:aULPQL7PQLanchO7DiUr

You'll see that the toothpaste deal didn't translate well and the whole thing about paying with Extra Bucks rather than money didn't either.

And of course we'd never find a Fusion coupon in Red Plum!

Can I ask a question of you or anyone else who files the coupon inserts instead of clipping? I went to the hotcouponworld website and found where you can search for coupons. I DIDN'T see where it said which insert it came from. How do I find that? I have been clipping coupons, but would love to just file the inserts. It takes me FOREVER to find coupons my way and sometimes I end up wasting them! TIA

You need about $1 worth of filler, maybe, depending on how nice the cashier is or isn't. I had a GC to use, but if you really don't want to spend the $1, be prepared to remove the filler if they adjust the coupon to $2.99. A good filler would be the ACT if you haven't done it yet.

Depending on how nice you want to be you can always ask for a manager. If it's my "normal" cvs I try to be extra nice, at the others I don't really care if I make them mad. Personally at those I'm always ready to just leave it and go to another CVS (but we do have 5 with 2 more opening in March)

I actually planned to ask this yesterday but got busy. I sort mine into categories, but I think I'm going to start clipping and sorting by date & source. The matchups always list them that way and I think it might end up easier.

Who sorts by what?

I noticed this recently too. I used to enter a lot of coupons and then I slacked off, so thanks for the reminder! It's easy to add to the database using this list of unexpired newspaper coupons: http://www.taylortownpreview.com/id20.htm

I would be lost without HCW's database because I like to look up expired coupons since our CVS stores take them.

Our stores take expired manufacturer's coupons? Just Woodbury or all of them? I send most of mine to military families overseas who can use them six months beyond expiration at their commissaries, but I had a couple that expired on 2/28 that I forgot about and would love to use this week.

I went to the Midway store for the first time on Monday after an appt. with the eye dr. I admit I couldn't see too well because my eyes had been dilated, but I wasn't too impressed. Looks like that store could use a makeover!

I made a small purchase at Maplewood yesterday afternoon. Had to hurry as I was on my way to work so didn't have much time to stroll the aisles.

Bought:
Lumeme Vit. C. day cream $2.99- used $4 coupon from the link (thank you, Robin!!)
2 CVS trail mix - 2/$3.00 - used crt for $2 off 2 nut products
2 Hersheys chocolate bars 2/$1 - used BOGOF mfg. q

total oop .49 and didn't have to use any ECB's

Now I just have to find $17.01 more of Lumene to complete that deal. :upsidedow That's a lot of trips at 2.99 each trip.

I wanted to do another Suave deal but I'm afraid to buy them at the regular price if they don't print ECB's. I really don't need more shampoo but I would donate it to the North St. Paul food shelf. I found out they take toilitries in addition to food donations. Between them and the troops, my stockpile will not bury me! :yay:

One last question~~~Remember when we filled out crt that asked for our email address? Are they linked to our cards? I got a 3/15 in an email but can't remember if it was DH's card or mine when I filled in the information. Will I or DH get beeped if we use it with the wrong card?
