CVS ECB Deals ~ Sales for Week 3/1-3/7

Ugg. I just did the Huggies deal at Walgreens and they would only let me use one RR per transaction. The cashier and manager both pointed to some paper they had printed off that was posted by the register. I said that was all very nice but the actual register reward paper said you could have an equal number of manu. coupons and register rewards as items in the transaction. I sent an email off to corporate, but I don't have much faith anything will come of it. It just makes me mad that their "policy" directly goes against what the register reward said! I was even a good couponer and used one of the $5 huggies and one of the $3 huggies coupons plus one .50 coupon from the inserts to get one of the Gentle Care, one of the Natural Fit and one wipes - even though I know that the $5 coupon will not beep for the Natural Fit diapers! I bought 9 Easter egg candies (.39 cent type- 6 Russell Stover eggs and 3 Palmer bunnies) as fillers for the RRs. I should have had her take those off the order, but I will use them for Easter baskets anyway.

OK. Vent over.

That's so frustrating! I know how you feel about trying to be a good couponer but sometimes it just backfires.

I read about this on HCW, if you still have a raincheck for Right Guard from way back in December ($6, free after ECB) then use it this month to earn an extra $5 ECB on each one, limit 2. I still had my raincheck so I bought 2 today and earned $10 ECB, then the cashier printed my $12 ECB's from the RC. Definitely a good moneymaker!

Oooooh, thanks! I think I still have a RC for those. That is the brand that DH uses so I try to stock up when those are cheap.

NVM I found it.

But I have a different question. How many identical mfg coupons does your CVS allow in one transaction?
One time my store limited the number of manu q's in one transaction. It was for the Gilette Fusion Gamer...the first week of the sale when the limit was 5. This is DH's favorite razor so I wanted to get them before they sold out. The cashier would not let me use all 5-$4 q's in one transaction. She did allow me to split them up into seperate transactions though. I have no idea why because the language on the coupon(one coupon per purchase) was the same as every other coupon. Anyway, at least I wasn't stuck with a single $20 ECB. So, it worked out okay for me.

I've had some transactions where the register beeps on the 4th identical coupon. It doesn't happen when a manager or shift leader is at the register. I think there was a software update to slow down resellers, but the shift leads/mgrs. are allowed to make the call based on the shopper.

Maggie - that is rotten! Hope you go back in and use three $5 coupons at a time.

yeah maybe it would be better to do a couple bottles of shampoo. I have a ton of shampoo though. But I realized I only have 3 mascara coupons. HMMM.

I haven't done the Suave yet.

and maybe I should print out those huggies coupon and do the wipes. We don't use them that much anymore now that we are out of diapers but it's always nice to have them in the car.

I guess I just really want to get into CVS this week. I've only been doing quickie deals the last few weeks!!

You could do three mascaras = 3 x $4 =$12 - $3 = $9 & you'd get $5ecb and if you could work some shampoo coupons for the additional $8 to make it to a second $5 ECB.... Or maybe the haircolor if you use that. It depend on how good your coupons are.

The wording on the huggies changed to "diaper product" so the new ones aren't good for wipes.

I saw the wipes are going on sale net week so I'm going to save my coupons for that.

I'm burntout too. I was excited about 90% off last week and got some great stuff, but I couldn't muster up any enthusiasm for anything but the Coke on Sunday (we had to go out for a birthday party, so I got the kid some of the color wonder clerance sets, forgot to bring a cheap bag & paper and got stuck paying more at CVS)

So, I did end up doing these transactions yesterday. The only thing I changed is I added the Boost Smoothie since I found it on clearnace and had a coupon to make it free. The cashier and the store manager copied down my transactions because they wanted to duplicate them, so I guess that is a good sign.

Oh, and I have had burnout too....I wouldn't have bought much of anything this week but I had to for the article. That really put things into perspective for me though. I was all bummed that it cost $9 something because I thought that was so much money. The cashier and the manager were freaking out because they thought it was so "awesome" and they wanted to do the deals too (they even copied it all down). I guess we get so spoiled by the good sales that we forget how much money we could save just doing it casually. It seems to go in spurts though, so hopefully a great week will come up soon and get me charged back up. I didn't even have the desire to do the Lumene deal :sad2:

Really cool that the store wanted to copy them! It's a nice balance of items that anyone would want so I think even though it did cost so much (so much lol), it will appeal to a lot of people! I will go find flaky's thread now.
