CVS ECB Deals ~ Sales for Week 3/1-3/7

Just realized I have $31 in ECBs that expire today! I haven't been keeping up with the CVS deals like I used to so now I am not sure how I can roll these ECBs. I do need some Pampers...so I guess I will use several on those and only make back $5. Can anyone give me some suggestions on how to use the other $15 in ECBs and try to roll them over??? I do get the coupons from Sunday's paper, but only 1 of each coupon. Any help would be appreciated!! (My stores will most likely be out of any Free after ECB deals.)

Robin gave some ideas in post 152 and I did in 153. They are monthly deals, but if you have the coupons they could earn you back a fair amount of ECBs. I have $30 that are expiring on Friday, so I am probably going to do some of those myself.

Thanks for the tip. I will try to do the Suave deal as I have the Free coupon along with the $1.75/3 or $1/2. I do not have any CVS coupons such as $5/30. I got one for the 1st time about 3 weeks ago and used it right away. I think I might have a Gillette Fusion coupon.... if it didn't expire...so I guess I can add another razor to the stash. :rotfl:

I had to run by my CVS to get Calamine lotion (don't ask) after a Publix run (It's the daschnd's birthday so the kids are having hot dogs and birthday cake, the dog got frozen doggie treats) and I grabbed THREE of the naughty/nice makeup bags. Sign read $5.99 but they rang up for 0.59! Yay! I also grabbed a white sequin make up bag with a small hand lotion attached that rang up for 0.99. I've been trying to build up my birthday stash, as my oldest seems to have a "girl" party every few weeks. I also figured these would make good gifts near Christmas, or I'll donate them. Still no ACT though....

Another CVS cotton round use Applying Calamine lotion....

Will yours take expired? I think next week is a coke deal and the herbal essence is on sale and there was a coupon for it... Also I scanned on Sunday and got a CRT for $1 off glade spray, I think there were coupons for that in some areas. The BenGay heat therapy pads have peelies on them in some areas too. Tylenol has a $1 IP on any product

Also I've found printables for the TGel shampoo, the Pert website has $1 off of that, sucrets had a MIR, the stop pain spray had a MIR, the afrin pursea nasal rinse has a $3 coupon here http://promo.iqadvantage.com/servlet/ContentServlet/popupContent?_contentMapGroupId=84113&_program=ScheringPlough&t=1236032951399&_inEditor=0&_width=650&_height=400&_flowId=5240780&_referer=promo.iqadvantage.com/servlet/ContentServlet/HREF & the pedia-lax has a $1 IP on their site. The triaminic thin strips has a $1.50 IP as well. All of those are monthlies
HTH!

So what's the "rule" on using coupons like this. Okay, here's my scenario today.

I bought 3 of the essence of beauty bath robes for $1.49. I had 3 coupons for $1 off any essence of beauty product. The cashier wouldn't let me use more than one coupon. It did beep when she rang it up, but I recall doing something like this before and either it not beeping or the cashier pushing it through (I don't remember which). She did the same thing with a box of Kotex I bought. I had a $1 off coupon and a .75 cents off coupon. I just told her that was fine because she was being polite and I didn't felt like being difficult. Plus I got the robes for dirt cheap anyways. But, anywho was the cashier right?

Cashier was right on that one. You can only use 1 CVS coupon like that per transaction, but you could've bought each robe one at a time. You can use other CVS coupons in a transaction, just not more than 1 of the same.

If you had a CVS Kotex coupon and a mfg. Kotex coupon, you should have been able to use both of them on 1 box.

That's what I was thinking. I remember reading about using the same CVS coupons in one transaction.

Thank you! :)

Wow, I have so many questions. I'm sorry everyone.

So on another site they posted this about the weekly Lumene deal.

since the coupon is a CVS coupon, only one can be used per transaction

with prices starting at $2.99, this could be a pretty good MM

assuming 7 transactions with $2.99 product in each along with a $4 coupon ends up being a $12.07 MM after ECBs

So I understand you're getting the $5 ECBS for free because you're not spending anything for the $2.99 products because of the coupon. But how does it come out to a $12.07 MM?

ETA: Okay!! I figured it out!

Just an FYI - the $5 coupon for Huggies does work on the larger sizes of that type of Huggies (the maroon package with Winnie the Pooh diapers).

DH had a $10 ECB on his card to use up so I sent him with 2 coupons (1 $5 Huggies and 1 $3 Huggies) and told him to get 2 packs of the size 5 diapers. Both coupons scanned just fine on this size and his OOP was just over $4. I was trying to get rid of these ECBs without generating more so I wouldn't have to keep up with his card but his receipt today printed a $10 off $30 purchase!!!!!!! Of course I have NO ECBs on this card now so what the heck do I buy???

When does it expire? If it's Saturday or later you could start planning next weeks deals. Did you do all the freebies for the week/month on it?
If there is something you'd use quite a bit of from next weeks ad you have time to "buy" extra coupons from an online auction site or gather them from trades on various sites.
For example Herbal Essence will be $2.88 next week, there are $3/2 coupons around and you'll get 1ECB up to 5 for the Hydralicious variety.
Garnier will be get 5ECB/$10 (limit 2) with several various coupons available from 2/8 inserts
You could do the Dove Monthly now if you have the coupons from 1/18 inserts
Huggie Jumbo packs will be 9.88, my kids are in HS so I have no idea if that is a good price or not :confused3

Its hard picking deals for others when we don't know what you need, what you consider a good deal, and what coupons you have.

I am a little confused and was hoping you guys could help. I bought 3 Suave bodywashes today hoping to do the $6 for $2 ECB deal. I didn't realize till I checked out that they were on sale for $1.99.

Now my receipt says:
Amount spent towards deal 5.97
Amount needed 5.97

I thought maybe all I had to do was buy one more bodywash and the ECB would print but the Amount needed part has me confused.

Hope you guys can help!!!

Umm.. I'm confused too. Last I heard the body washes weren't generating ECBs, did that get fixed?

Great news!! How about more diapers, you've got 6 more $5 coupons coming in the mail and 6 more $3 ones lol

You should have got a $2 ECB on that receipt for the 3 you bought today because it's showing that you got credit for them. What that means is that you can do the deal again with 3 more Suave products to earn another $2. If you buy 3 more it will say:

Amount spent towards deal 11.94
Amount needed 5.97

$1.99 is a correct price and they've lowered the threshold to that amount to earn the $2 ECB. In some states, the Suave is $1.99 and in some it's $2. You can do this deal 5 times for a total of 15 Suave products.

The newspaper article came out today, there are actually 3 different ones:

http://www.startribune.com/lifestyl...DUdcOy_nc:DKUiD3aPc:_Yyc:aULPQL7PQLanchO7DiUr

You'll see that the toothpaste deal didn't translate well and the whole thing about paying with Extra Bucks rather than money didn't either.

And of course we'd never find a Fusion coupon in Red Plum!

Has anyone done the 24.7 skin care deal yet? I heard the lip plumps are working towards those and they are on clearance for $5.99. I know LanaJae talked about those weeks ago. I can't find them anywhere. Is anything else working towards that deal that is cheaper/equal to the $10 ECBs? I found a $1.50 of face scrub, but that didn't do it.

The deal I did was different. I found 3 Lip Plumpers on clearance for $5 each (regular $19.99) and I used a CVS emailed coupon for $10 off any 24.7 (expired now) and a $5 CRT off 24.7 to get all 3 free.

If you find 24.7 skincare items on clearance, in order for them to work towards generating the $10 ECB, they have to ring up at the regular price and the cashier then does a price over-ride to adjust them down to the clearance price. If it's an item that's been put in the main system as clearance (scans at the clearance price), it won't usually count towards the deal. It won't work if your store enters all clearance as either taxable or non-taxable either.

24.7 is very expensive, I'm surprised that the lip plumper is counting for the monthly deal, but that's great - keep looking for it. It was supposed to only count on the smooth and go ($29.99), wrinkle treatment ($39.99) and eye serum ($29.99).

Congrats on getting published!!:thumbsup2
But, what a bummer. You are right. They didn't do you or CVS' ecb program any justice. Oh well. I imagine there are more people interested in the programs than they think though. Don't be surprised if the Star Tribune contacts you again for a follow up interview. Now I'm just waiting for my confirmation email so I can leave a comment.

Thanks Kycha!! I hope puffkin's is really good, I'm anxious to read it.

I'm actually thankful that it didn't sound too good to be true, I don't need too much competition :rotfl:

Thanks for leaving a comment  That particular paper gets really strange comments, everything is turned into something political. They mostly only hit front page stuff so maybe they'll leave this stuff alone.

I didn't think they botched it too badly. I understood what he was saying. But then, we are all CVSers. So that makes a difference, I guess!

Congrats on the article.
