It triples the 2% quarterly award that you receive...NOT the ECBs from the weekly or monthly deals.

:lmao: ooooo I was starting to get all shaky...going crazy getting my coupons...singing...I'm goin to CVS>>CVS>>>CVS:woohoo:

I just had a weird situation at CVS. I had several ECB's to use and handed her the highest first, $16.96. It beeped and I figured it was because it was over $15, but she said no, it was saying does not match Extra Care Card, so she looked at my card, it matched (has to, I only have one). The compared it to the other ecb's, all matched, she scanned those in then had to call the lead and she thought it was odd too. She just put it through of course since all matched, but I wonder what is up. I don't like beeps and never get them.

Same thing happened to me Tuesday night. The cashier said that she had several during the day on Tuesday beep and she just pushed it through. It was a large one as well, I think about $19 or so.

Well, glad to see I was not alone in the beeping then.

I always get so mad when I get home from cvs on thursdays and then check my email there is ALWAYS a coupon, happened again. But now it looks like just the way they send them out. I swear they were waiting until I used my card betting I was going to run right out again!

I need to go back this week because I didn't have the colgate deal down enough to do it, but think I got it now if I can find 2 more coupons. And I had forgot an afrin coupon too.

Okay CVSers I am so mad right now, tell me what to do! I just went to CVS to get a prescription refill and picked up 2 of the maybelline eyeshadows, the garnier, 2 of the bogo energy drinks and a gallon of milk...$26 or so. Used a $4/$20 and a $1 coupon on the shampoo and had ECBs for the rest. Well it wouldn't take any of my ECBs that were over $5, it beeped and said the max for that coupon was $3. The cashier was very confused (as was I) and called the manager - he couldn't figure it out so the training manager was there and they called him. He was RUDE (although he became nicer toward the end) and said, "There's the problem there's a lot of coupons on here you can't use them all." I said, "There are 2 coupons on there and one is a CVS, the others are ECBs." He said I could only use three. I asked why since they were the same as cash and he said that's the policy. Then he said "Where did you get all of these anyway?" Now this is when I got my "tone" - I said, "On your receipts, just like I'm about to get a bunch on this purchase. If I can only use 3 at a time then why give me more than 3 on a receipt?" Not sure what happened but then he got nicer and I ended up paying just over $18 on it simply b/c I didn't want to sit through it all. It's been one of THOSE days for me and I sure didn't expect it at CVS.

This CVSing is becoming so so obsessive!

Just did i think my 4th or 5th run for this week! This was the most coupons i've used i think (as my mom just sent me a bunch!)

4.00 2 bags M&M's (-1.00 coupon)
2.50 1 Colgate toothpaste (-1.50 printable coupon)
3.00 1 softsoap handwash - 1 irish spring soap (-.30 and - .35 coupon)
.99 1 palmolive dish soap (-.25 coupon)
3.99 1 sft soap body (-1.00 coupon)
3.99 1 Fructis conditioner (-1.00 coupon)
1.79 CVS baby asprin

4/20 CVS coupon used 10.49 ecb's plus .70 oop and got back about 12.78 in ecb's!

Now that i've been doing this for about 1 month i will try not to pay more than 1.00 oop! - especially on things i really don't need - but its so much fun stocking up!

Between my card and my husbands i must have atleast $25-$30.00 in ecb's!

Is this your only CVS? Personally I have 1 I avoid at all costs or will only go to LATE at night. Can't stand the mgr there and the asst mgr is no better. Rude, snotty, and treats me like I am stealing from them personally. Luckily I have about 4 within 10 minutes of me and even more if I branch out to a 15-20 minute radius. The particular store I dislike I have reported to the DM and corporate at least 4 times over the last year or so but it does nothing to his/her demeanor so they don't get my business. I do have to say when I am feeling feisty and can come up with a humdinger of a transaction and am get back mega ECB's and paying nothing OOP I go there to stick it to him that I can follow the "rules" and still pay nothing :rolleyes1

I would go to another CVS if possible. . . today I used 1, $4 of $20; 2, $2 off Excedrin; 1, $1 off colgate; 1, $1 off softsoap and they all rang up just fine. . . so that was 5 coupons. . . though I didn't ue any ecb's, dunno if that make a different.

since I am still a newbie at cvsing I cant give you the adivse that some can on this thread...ya know some of them are professionals:rolleyes1 I admire all of them so much:worship: when I grow up I want to be just like them:cool1:
The last time i went to cvs the register was beeping like crazy... A few of my mfg coupons wouldnt go in..and I had the products..the girl just handed them back. Then my bucks wouldnt work and shse handed them back to me too... and naturally that is when the line started getting long:headache: I just stood there. I think she thought I would say ok but no way. It took me almost an hour to figure out my plan and shop. I knew the ecb were good.So she said (nice in loud for the line to hear) I will have to call the manager:snooty: He gave her some code to use and she had to total all the bucks and enter the total with the code. It worked.
I always worry when I have so many coupons and lots of ecb:scared1: I am afraid of the register:scared: but like I said I am new at all this:cloud9:

No but it's my favorite. I've never seen this manager in there before. And that's why I'm so mad...I WAS following the rules! He said he couldn't put the "coupon" through...I said it's not a coupon it's ECBs, they're the same as cash. He said he didn't know what to tell me b/c he's a manager and it wouldn't let him override it.

Flakypuff- I know what you mean, and I hate when I'm holding up the line. This happened before at this same store, the ECBs beeped and wouldn't let them put in more than $3. I don't get it.

I'm sorry! I hate it when uncomfortable situations come up. I've been in one like that before and I still think about it!

I've decided now that if I feel uncomfortable with a transactions I will simply leave the store. (After questioning the cashier, manager, etc. ruthlessly, of course, if I'm sure I'm in the right.) It feels better that way to know that I wasn't taken advantage of - I know that if I were I will have a hard time letting it go! I simply just don't have the extra money to spend OOP so I just won't do it. Make sure you have your card, your coupons, and your ECBs, and get outta there!

I would politely ask him to void the transaction and start over. Maybe something the initial clerk did was causing the error. Maybe your ECB card did not scan properly and that is why they couldn't get things to go through. IF a coupon or ECB beeps I ask the clerk to put it aside and not push it through until the end. There computers are only set up to handle so many "pushes" so if they have 3 ECB's at the end the computer is not accepting and they are all good, they can total the ECB's and do 1 push for the total vs. locking up the computer past the 1st push. Be polite and just explain that you checked everything BEFORE coming in to make your purchases and everything should match and maybe the computer is experiencing some type of glitch, could you try it again. Sometimes the CVS gods are against us and we have to finagle things. Luckily it doesn't happen frequently.

Me too on the register beep and it was on a CRT coupon of all things! I went to CVS yesterday to do the Theraflu/Triaminic deal and finish up my Colgate deal. Also had actually found one of the Glucose monitors and nabbed that one but it wouldn't print the ECBs for it. The Shift Supervisor said it was the wrong one even though it WAS the one pictured in the flyer. I just had her refund the transaction and start over. That was an advenutre b/c I had paid for the entire order with ECBs. Luckily the lady was nice about it - she is one that in the past was encouraging the stacking.

It's because it is over $15. I've had that happen recently, too. Requires manager approval to push through.

What a mess! I wonder if this doesn't have something to do with the register/ECB problems others have been having yesterday and today? I would call CVS Corp. on the ECB thing definitely because they are just like cash and they can't limit you on how many you use and they will call the store and tell them that and follow-up with an email/memo. Even though we all say to have an equal number of items for CVS ECBs/coupons (just to keep the register quiet), they still have to take all of them and your mfg. coupons. The only thing they can limit you on is printable $/$$ coupons and some other internal policy items like the glucose monitors.

Did anyone else get the email with a coupon to earn triple extra care bucks every time you shop between now and march 15th?:cool1: :cool1:

Before you get real happy, unfortunately it doesn't add up to much. It give 6% instead of 2% on your quarterly purchases, which if you're doing CVS right, is a very small amount!

True but it is still more

I'm excited every time they do it, this is the 3rd quarter in a row that I know of - but every other time they've done it a little sooner. I wish I hadn't done my last trip until after I received this!

The first time we got the email, my daughter thought it meant triple ECBs on everything and she was spending the money already. She got 50 cents lol

If you are at the store during normal business hours and you have a problem that the manager won't fix, call 1800SHOPCVS right from the line. Discuss it with corporate and they will straighten out the store (provided you are correct of course). Although sometimes they say that its up to the manager.

For all of the new people, you are allowed to use ONE CVS coupon AND ONE manufacturer's coupon PER ITEM! And ECB are NOT supposed to ring up as CVS coupon, but that may be YMMV.

Maggie
