CVS ECB Deals ~ Sales for Week 2/15-2/21

Heads up everyone! It is being reported on afullcup.com that the colgate coupon that came from an Aetna .pdf may no longer be accepted. (I think it was posted earlier in this thread.) Aetna released the coupon in .pdf form, without permission from Colgate. Supposedly Colgate has notified their vendors who should be notifying individual stores in the near future not to accept this coupon. Colgate has also contacted all the coupon message boards and demanded the removal of the .pdf link. So, use it with caution! It has apparently already been pulled from the Aetna website.

I feel bad now. I am not really comfortable using coupons from a .pdf. When you print them, they just look like copies to me. Even so, I used 2 to get in on the colgate ecb deal today. I should have known. Oh well. Not much I can do about it now.

ETA:Oh, and I finally found the 10 ct CVS cotton round travel pack that someone else reported worked for the $2 nailcare ecb. They had a ton of them in the clearance section...marked 50% off(49 cents). So, I'm assuming they won't work for the ecb deal. I'm having a hard time finding the 25 ct cotton round packs. I may just scrape the clearance price tag off and pay full price for those suckers. It would be a moneymaker if I use the $2 off $10 cvs crt.

The Pantene that was clearanced counted for ECB, so maybe those will

I thought this coupon looked funny. It didn't look like a typical printable coupon to me. I should have went with my gut. I only used it 3 times and at 3 different stores. Oh well.

I bought 2 other colgates, but used one coupon from All You and another $1 from the paper insert.

By the way, how can a company print a coupon without permission from the other company?? Hmm... I feel like making a .pdf of a coupon for Cheerios today???? Or is it that they didn't have permission for the .pdf but they had permission for the coupon on an actual flyer?

Here is the link to the article about the Pharmacy tech that got stabbed at one of the CVS here in Reading, PA that I frequent. It seems like she is going to be ok:

For those of us that get the Reading paper, you are going to be in a for a big surprise this weekend. It has been completely redesigned and looks nothing like the old paper. I am still getting used to it.

Too bad about the Aetna coupon. I have been using it for awhile now, but it never seemed quite right. I will stop using it now :sad1:

Thank you for confirming! Thats what I thought. If I call 1-800 will they credit me the coupon. What do you do at a store when this happens and they stand their incorrect ground?

You can call customer service right there while in line.

Or call for a manager if its not the manager giving you a hard time.

Maggie

If talking to manager does not help stand right there in line and call CS, explain the problem, and ask if they will instruct the cashier how to handle the matter. That gets their attention. I did this when the cashier would not give me a raincheck for "free after ECB". Have no problem getting my rainchecks now.

Thanks. She left her register to ask somebody, and came back and said they told her no. I asked who that person was and asked her to write their name on my coupon. I will call today and see what happens.

They just redesigned the Pottsville Republican...about 2 weeks ago. They made the text smaller and the page size smaller too. This may be the next wave of "progress."

"Progress"? No, it's called redesigning to use less newsprint in hopes (likely in vain) of saving a job or two. It's a really ugly time in newspapers.

You are right. Aetna had permission to use the coupon, but not in a .pdf format. I'm sure Colgate would have preferred Aetna use a bricks coupon or something like that to limit the number of coupons printed. Putting it in a .pdf form, and giving it such a long expiration date is kind of a nightmare for Colgate. I wonder why they waited till now to pull the coupon. It has been out there a couple months now.

That is crazy about the stabbing! And of course the article doesn't give a motive or any reason why that woman stabbed her. Thanks for the link.

Thanks for the heads up on the Reading paper. Is it just the Sunday paper that has been redesigned? How about the weekday papers?

Yikes, and I'm the one that posted that pdf coupon on here. I saw it somewhere else and thought it was okay. I'm sorry everyone.

I used it 5 times already.

They are all redesigned. I get it daily and the change started on Monday. Smaller pages, different font (but supposedly the same size). Features will be in standard spots now instead of jumping around and they have more features/columns. They also have full color on each page.

It is a very nice redesign, I just need to get used to it. The weekday entertainment and Money sections are MUCH improved and expanded which I like. I just am having a hard time with the font.

Thanks, LanaJae! Maybe I'll take a nice walk on Saturday instead. :goodvibes

Hope you find them (and don't get a storm!)

The only ones out there for everyone right now are from FL (and possibly MI) CVS ads at the beginning of February (but good only in those states).

Many stores take competitor coupons and within the last few weeks there have been pharmacy coupons for Target, Walgreens and K-mart in some cities.

None anywhere online that I am aware of.
