CVS ECB Deals ~ Sales for Week 2/15-2/21

I just found a coupon site that has the next two weeks CVS ads posted.

hot coupon world

There is a tab that says CVS Pricebook.

It does take away a little of the fun waiting for the Sunday paper but it may help you plan ahead.

Hope it helps.

Dr. Pepper is considered a Coke item in some areas and a Pepsi item in others. It depends on who they have a contract with to bottle their product.

Maggie

OOh, that explains a lot! I had no idea. My DH and I were just discussing last night how Burger king had coke products and dr. pepper. This must be why! Thanks, it is always fun to see the new things you learn about shopping on here.

:rotfl:

I used to keep a spreadsheet too, until about August when it got to be too much work. I kept track of every OOP expense I had at CVS since I started, as well as every single item that I bought. I guess you can see why it turned out to be too much work!! :lmao:

I still have all of my receipts from CVS though, so maybe I'll feel the urge to go back and finish my spreadsheet. I wonder how many tubes of toothpaste would be on there?!

Hah! And the kids always want to know when you will ever use math in the real world (I used to teach it) - I just love trying to figure out the best deals, it is such a fun game. :woohoo:

Thanks for the answers, LanaJae & puffkin....looks like another trip tomorrow :thumbsup2

I also need to look for this scanner you all are talking about. I'm apparently not that observant because I have never seen this. I'll be keeping my eyes peeled! :magnify:

What part of PA are you in? I've only found the scanner at one of 7 CVS's that I've been to.

I need some advice from all of you CVS experts. I'm still trying to get the hang of everything so bear with me...

Today I bought:

Colgate $2.99
Colgate $2.99
Razor $7.99
2 25ct cotton rounds 1.98(.99each)

I had 1.50 colgate q
1.50 colgate q
4.00 razor q
1.99 ECB
2.99 ECB
3.00 ECB
2.00 ECB

I handed over my ECBs 1st and then my coupons. The total was -.61 so she told me I would need to buy something else. I added two more cotton rounds for .99 each.

This made my total $1.51 which was ok b/c I still don't understand the whole tax thing.

So...I earned 5.98ECB, 4.00ECB 4.00ECBfor a total of 13.98 in ECB PLUS it gave me a $10 off $30.00 purchase.(The $10q has to be used in the next 3 days.)

My question is how to maximize my ECB and $10 q?

I have already maxed out the following deals:

Colgate
Gamer Razor
Neutrogena
Asprin
Gillette hair b1get 3ECB

I have 1 left toward Aussie Buy 1 get 1ECB, I have not done the $20 in coke deal, and it says I have 2 left toward cotton rounds. Help!!

pixiedustaholic-

Have you maxed out the monthly deals yet.

Earrinse and energy shots are free after ECBS. Do you have BIGI free coupons for Stayfree? With a BIGI free q you get 2 for free! I'm not really good about planning scenarios before hand because you never know how well stocked the shelves will be when you get to CVS.

hth

I've never seen a 10/30 q. I'm so jealous! I was in a dry spell for a while there but CVS starting giving me 5/30 crts again but only one a week. :sad1:

Hi Pixiedustaholic! :) I haven't been CVSing long myself so the real experts on this thread might disagree with me since I'm a newbie myself and don't understand it too well myself yet. However, this is what I would do. I would invest in the Coke deal because you'll get $10 in ECB and it will count for $20 towards your 10/30 coupon. That will leave $10 for you to buy which could be the EARrinse and Energy Shots which would get you back ECB's for them and make them free as well. Then they would cover your !0/30 coupon too.

Question about multiple cards. Those of you who have cards in your kids names are they older(teen and up) or younger?

I have signed dh up for a card, does he have to use the card or can I go in and use it?
Only my DS18 has a card. After he got his license he stopped to pick up Deo on the way home from school. The cashier asked for his card...he didn't have one, told her I did but I was at work, she had him fill out the application then and there and told him he "needed" his own card. I'm not sure how old she thought he was but I'm glad she insisted he get it. :woohoo:

I'm no expert but unless you have Coke/Tylenol coupons I wouldn't do that one. You'll "lose" $10 if you don't have coupons.
You need to see what coupons you can match to deals...this helps you keep as many ECBs as possible to keep rolling. Look for peelie coupons on the body heats, do the Earrinse, Energy Shots, and cotton rounds. Add up your totals once you see what is in stock. If they are out of the "free" items then try to match up at least $6 in coupons for deals that give back ECBs.

Your goal is to buy $30 in items. You have a 10/30 so that gets you down to 20, you have 14 in ECB so now you're down to $6 OOP. Now this is where the $6 (at least) in coupons comes into play. If you can find coupons for things like the stayfree, shampoo, deo...then you'll minimize your out of pocket while trying to maximize your earned ECB. It's hard to do a scenario w/o knowing what your store has in stock.

I am also in PA and I have never seen a scanner.
There are at least 2 stores with scanners in Lancaster County. And they were both installed in the last 6 months. I hope they are making their way around the state. Because PA is sorely lacking in the scanner department. Here are the PA stores that have been reported to have a scanner:

-1181 FREEDOM ROAD, CRANBERRY, PA 16066
-Carlisle St., Hanover, PA
-5703 STEUBENVILLE PIKE, MCKEES ROCKS, PA 15136
-CVS Lawrence Park in Broomall PA 2507 W Chester Pike, Broomall, PA 19008
-CVS in Havertown of Eagle Road 41 W Eagle Rd, Havertown, PA
-#5604 335 Lancaster Ave, Frazer, PA 19355
-Somerset, PA
-S. Main St, Wilkes-Barre, PA
-#5721 440 N. Reading Rd, Ephrata, PA
-#1667 1052 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA
-#7184 7720 Bustleton Ave, Phila, PA
-Main Street, Dickson City, PA
-118 W. Main Street, North East, PA 16428

Those are the only PA stores I can find. Pretty pathetic list.

Yeah, I regularly shop 7 CVS in Berks County and we are pretty much scanner-less.

There is a CVS on Rt. 183 in Leesport that has a blue scanner (for price checking) but not a red coupon scanner.

They just opened up a new CVS about 6 months ago on Rt. 222 in Blandon/Maidencreek. That is the only store in the area that has a coupon scanner. It is kind of out of my way though, so I only get there about once a week to scan my cards.

Kycha- the Reading paper was still on the list to receive the Red Plum inserts. It looked like the Lancaster papers were too (don't know which one you get). Don't know how long that will last, but it looks like we are safe for now.

Klineyqueen- Did you see about the stabbing at the Rt. 183 CVS? Apparently a regular customer came in and stabbed one of the pharmacy techs. She asked to use the bathroom, then came out and stabbed her for some reason. That CVS is in the nicest area, it is so weird.

This is absolutely true. The only thing I would add is if you buy coke normally for full price at the grocery store, this isn't a bad deal for it. For example, I am willing to lose a few ECB for this since we buy coke/pepsi anyway. And I can't get it for less at the grocery. Mine was 4/$14 and I bought 6. So $21 for 6 cases - $10 ECB, so $11 for 6 cases. That's $1.83 per case. And I can't get it for less than that at the grocery. In fact, I usually buy it if its $2.50 or less. The coke machine in my office building is $1.75 for ONE bottle of coke!!! So I bring a can from home, if I remember, for lunch.

Pop and laundry detergent are the 2 things I am willing to lose a few ECB for. Toilet paper and paper towels too, but hopefully don't lose many. I figure I will pay OOP for these anyway, so its a wash.

I agree 100% with this. I always try to break even with my ECB's or earn more than I spend back. But if I have a lot to use up I will buy things like soda, toilet paper, laundry detergent, diapers, etc that I would buy elsewhere. If I don't have ECB's that need to be used up or rolled soon, then I pay cash for these items and take that money out of my grocery budget.

I'm new at this, but just wanted to check. The coke deal this week...is it only good for Diet Coke? Or do you get ECB's with regular coke too?

I purchased 2 packs of regular cokes, 2 packs of Diet Coke and 2 packs of Caffeine Free Diet Coke and I got my $10 ECB.
