Cvs 8/22-8/28 weekly deals

:banana::banana:I AM SO EXCITED:banana::banana:

Last night when I scanned my cards I got a 5/15 on one card but on the other I got 30 % off entire purchase.

So here is what I did:
2 Glade Sense and Spray - (2) $3 IP
1 Listerine Rinse -$2 IP
1 Gilette Fusion -$4
1 Blink Tears -$1
10 Sobe Drinks - 5 BOGO
1 Crest Pro Health TP -$1
-30% off = $14.50
- $7.99 ECB
-$1 ECB
OOP .32 on gift card

Got back:
$2 ECB for Listerine
$3 ECB for Glade
$7.99 ECB fro Blink
$2.50 ECTfor Crest TP
$5 ECB for razor
Total: $20.49 ECBs and spent $8.99 ECB
Total MM $11. 50

I am sure I could have done better if I sat down and thought about it first. But I was so excited I used 30% off while all the sales were in stock.

Listerine MM!

The Listerine Total Care CINNAMINT FLAVOR ONLY is ringing up on clearance for 1.24, but still printing the $2 ECB for this week. If you pair it with a $1 manufacturer's coupon it's an even greater MM. The limit is 2.

I have some $2 Coupons:yay::yay::yay::yay: Thanks

The Jack's Beef Jerkys that are BOGO this week had peelies for $1 off in my store today. I also got a $5/20 off of food CRT on both cards, so I think I might combine all of this into a fabulous beef jerky pallooza for dadtosam. :rotfl2: I never buy him beef jerky unless it is on sale.

My CVS had Pure Black Rice moisturizer and cleanser on clearance. No coupons and it was still fairly pricey (for me anyhow) but my daughter loves it so I picked some up for her to take to college with her later this week.

I haven't gotten a really good coupon out of the scanner in so long! I keep hoping when I read about others getting them. Might be time to start a new card.

Just wondering how you do this with CVS. I don't recall seeing any advertising on this. Thank you for any help!!!

It was for the entire purchase. My first one ever.:dance3::yay:

I had to call 3 CVS friends before one answered the phone. Just wanted to share with someone that could appreciate it.

CVS doesn't advertise this. They advertise the ECB and the sales, but not how to maximize the deals because really they want you to spend as much as possible in the store. It's just that people here and other places have figured out how to work the system to their benefit.

There are a bunch of aspects to this.

First there are the ECB, which print both quarterly based upon 2% of your instore spending/50c for each Rx and when you purchase certain deals within the store - see post one for this weeks ECB deals.

Then CVS offers up coupons called CRTs when you enter the store (print them at the price scanner).

Then there are MFG or MFR coupons which you can print off of various websites or clip from your paper.

The goal is to combine the CRT and MFR coupons with ECB to get the best deals possible and have the smallest possible out of pocket cost. There is a combined goal where we try to use the ECB that this weeks deals generate to roll into the next weeks deals. Sometimes people have been known to walk out of the store with no OOP cost and actually Making Money (MM). :thumbsup2

My store had Kids CVS brand Motrin, Allergy Meds and Cough medicine on clearance ($1.37 for the cough). It expires in the Fall and because my kids don't get sick that often I didn't buy it, but if you know you will use it up it was a great deal.

Where was this located in your store? I didn't see it in mine.

Keep in mind that they're essentially chemicals, and don't really expire for a longggg time. The sell by date is just that, a legal FDA law, but they'll last and be effective - and safe - a whole lot longer. HTH.

Thanks. but I still am missing something. Are these just the regular ads in post 1? Also, do you need one of CVS cards to do this? Also, what are the abbreviations standing for? Thank you!

Post #1 is pretty much the regular ad, but summarized so as to make it easier to look at and Flaky very kindly posts coupon links.

You do need a CVS card to do this.

Abbreviations:

ECB = Extra Care Buck
MM = Money Maker
CRT = ?? It basically stands for the coupon that the price scanners print out
MFR/MFG = Manufacturer's
wyb = When you buy
psa = prices start at
q = coupon
OOP = out of pocket (the cash that a person actually spends at CVS)

Let me take the first item in Flaky's post and give you an example of how this works:

I buy the Blink eye care - $7.99
then I hand over a MFG q for $1.50
So my OOP Cost for this item would be $6.49+tax and I'll get a coupon for $7.99 in ECB that I can spend on anything else in the store which makes this deal a $1.50 MM.

But, let's change this deal a little. Say when I go to the register after handing over my MFG q I then also hand over $7.99 in ECB that I got last week when I bought the Blink that was on sale then. Oh, Oh, I can't do that, unless I want to lose $1.50 in ECB or add a "filler" to my cart. Which is what I did last night. I also got 2 packages of puffs that were on sale so my OOP for these three items was 50c + tax. :thumbsup2

Thanks!! So are the ECB printed like a coupon? thanks again

A little OT but its regarding a CVS purchase and would like your opinion.

So I missed the postmark date for the Schick razor rebate (Aug 18) and I'm so mad at myself! :(

However, they have to be received by September 2, so do you think they'd overlook the postmark date if it arrived by then?

Any experience with situations like this?

I was able to get 2 of them.
