I always cut it into four small triangles and turn them backwards (so the triangles are pointing outward like a four-pointed star)...
You guys are so creative. ❤I used to do that for my little niece, but angle them as "butterfly wings" with a carrot or cheese stick for the body.
Cute! You do this with two big triangles? I like it.I used to do that for my little niece, but angle them as "butterfly wings" with a carrot or cheese stick for the body.
Very cute! It occurs to me, you could do this with pancakes too. With a piece of bacon or link sausage for the middle?I did four littles, but either way works:

You had me until tortilla.Diagonally for myself or DD. Once every blue moon I'll trim the crusts off for her, even though I hate it when she does that. DH makes his own sandwiches. We are both too picky to eat sandwiches we didn't make. Except grilled cheese. Then it is a pile of triangles.
Hot dogs are best in flour tortillas. They hold the stuff in without being too bready.
From my childhood I recall sandwiches at home being cut into rectangles. Highfalutin places like the Woolworth lunch counter is where you’d see those fancy triangle cut sandwiches.
Same. My mother used to cut them into rectangles (she still does). I cut all of my sandwiches into triangles. I don't know why -- there IS some fun in taking a big bite of the triangle corner as the first bite.
My first job the summer after high school was at the Woolworth lunch counter. Before that, I'd never really made sandwiches or anything before. I still make a killer vanilla shake.
Yum! So what is the secret to a good vanilla shake?
@starvenger, you are the only other normal person on this thread.I cut diagonally, but to be different, I cut just slightly off the corner, so I get trapezoids, not triangles. Does it make sense to cut like that? Probably not.
Also, X-cut is good for when you're serving kids, or have a particularly large club sandwich.
You could make $$$ writing down those Woolworth lunch counter recipes!Same. My mother used to cut them into rectangles (she still does). I cut all of my sandwiches into triangles. I don't know why -- there IS some fun in taking a big bite of the triangle corner as the first bite.

You lost me at the end. By definition a good shake can't be sucked through a straw, at least until the end after some melting has happened. There isn't. A bit of vanilla, three scoops of real vanilla ice cream, and just enough milk to make it able to be sucked through a straw.
