Just curious at what age you wouldn't worry about having a stroller at Disney for your kids.

When we go in December, we'll have a double stroller for our 10 month old twins. My wife thinks we'll need one for our 7 year old as well. I think he should be fine without one.

What would you do?

My 7 year old would die if I put him in a stroller.....he's not a baby any more would be his words.

This can be a very heated topic believe it or not. I personally would consider renting one just for Epcot-since it is soo spread out.
I probably would not do one for the other parks. You know your child best however. I would not want a miserable whinning child just to make a point.

My 6yo hasn't been in a stroller since he was 3. My 2-1/2 yo walked around Six Flags for 5 hours last week. So my vote goes to "no stroller".

My girls were around 4-5 when they stopped riding in a stroller at WDW.

Age 4 or 5 is about the upper limit I think. Seven is just too old, although, I totally agree that he will get tired.

IMO 7 is way, way to old. My DS 5 did absolutely fine without one and we were there at Easter and stayed open till close.

A 7 yr old should be fine without one. Ours did okay at 6 walking around AK with his K class - 100 kindergarteners without stollers!

BUT, if you want to get places fast and will already have a stroller for the twins I think you could get away with one for him without too much social ostracizing! ;)

That's my concern.

You guys know your kids best, but DS was a teeny-tiny 5 YO the first time we took him to WDW in January, and we could barely keep up with HIM. He was so excited to be there, and just had boundless energy.

The weather also worked in our favor, it was cool and comfortable, so he wasn't being sapped by hot humid weather.

At 7, I know my DS would have MAJORLY balked at a stroller. I doubt you'll be commando touring with 10 month old babies, so I think you could probably do without for him.

I have a 4 yr old and he walks the mall with me now and we rarely use stroller ever. I am going to bring one to WDW because Im not going to carry him after a LONG day in the park and he wants to pass out and plus where the heck am I going to put all the packages :rotfl:
He will prob walk alot, but I want to have it if he needs a rest.
Since you have the double stroller you have a place to put packages. Id let the 7 yr old walk, but he gets too pooped you could rent a stroller.

Child gets tired:

1) if staying onsite, go back to your resort. Have a nap, take a swim, return to the park.

2) if staying offsite, simple: find a bench and sit down awhile. Enjoy a cold drink, rest awhile, move on. No stroller needed.

I've known someone who had an 8 yo old in a stroller, but it wouldn't be me! My upper limit would probably be 5 at WDW.

Eh, that doesn't bother me at all. I just don't want to lug something around unneccessary in addition to a double stroller, diaper bag, camera, etc.

Our older kids have not used a stroller since DD (middle) was 3. At that time, we had to get a double because DS ended up with a blister on his heal. Don't buy new shoes right before WDW.:) . If needed rent one but I think a 7 year old should be able to handle it.
