Since Delta is one of the airlines in bancruptcy, you may find the employees a little less caring than usual.
I beg to differ. I fly Delta a lot and have had no problems. Recently (starting in December) the flight attendants have been going out of tehir way to be nice. They are nervous about the USAir takeover bid and the resulting impacts on their jobs. I suppose there is some irony in there, but that is for another debate.
As I said, I have no problem with Delta. I have been a 'victim' of their seat changing policy (fortunately I catch it early and have someone change it back). I once asked and they said it has to do with re-issuing the tickets. I am a computer programmer and can't see how difficult it would be to change their reservation system such that if the shcedule changes 10 minutes, all seat selections get wiped out. But Delta has always seemed behind the curve when it comes to their computer systems.
I wouldn't say it's poor customer service, it's poor computer systems.
