Custom Mickey Mouse home-- more classy than tacky

Nice touches, but some of it is in permanent places.. tiling, wood floors and the counter tops.

I wish them luck selling it. They are going to need it.

I love it! I really like the mickey on the counters in the kitchen and the bathroom rocks! I love bright colors (but then again I'm a kindergarten teacher :thumbsup2)

Let me see if I can find photos of my bedroom. I was trying for class over tack. :rolleyes1 The room is actually in shambles now because we inherited furniture that doesn't really fit the space and I haven't had a chance to redo it so I can't take any current photos.

eta: found some posted on a thread from earlier this year that also has some great Disney room photos. The wall is burgundy not a bright red as is the color in the comforter. http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=36399030&postcount=20

I think it's great LTS
I really love the lamps and the shadow boxes! Great job!

I absolutely love the place--but not enough to move across the country.

Very well done.

I really like that, and would love to live there, but would never buy it. All I'd be able to think of would be how hard it would be to sell.

DawnCT has some pics posted of her dining room and I think kitchen not too long ago. It was very classy. I haven't seen her lately.

I LOVE it, especially the kitchen counters.

I am going to send the link to my brother, who lives in Salt Lake and is looking to buy a condo, and make the case for why he needs this place. :rotfl:

My ds13 cracks me up. His reply "I don't want Mickey watching me take a shower"and "Thank God they don't love Star Wars".

I LOVE the lamps in the picture in the link! WHERE DID you find them?

Thanks for the thread! I'm checking it out right now. I like your room, btw, not too over the top. I just need some good examples and ideas to work with since I'm just in general not much of a decorator.

Disneystore.com about 5 or so years ago? Not much help to you but you might look on ebay and see if anyone has them there. Those and the black Mickey shadow boxes were from there. The duvet was from there also but actually bought on ebay because it was from a previous year or so. The yellow pillow on the bed is actually from the Grand Floridian and has the lyrics to "A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes" printed on it

The prints on the wall were from Micheal's. They were already matted and are replicas of a USPS stamp series -- I think it was called Friends or something like that. I got them for so cheap, I think maybe $3-$5 each?

Make sure you take a look through the threads on the Home Interior section of the Creative Community board http://www.disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=124 There are some great ideas over there.

While it's the classiest Disney space I've seen, and is well done, it's WAY over the top for me. We have one print in our gameroom that has anything Disney on it and that's it.

I wish them luck in selling it!

I really love that house. I'd love to, say, vacation there. It's a little overdone even for me. When I'm older, I'd like one room in my home to be Mickey themed. Probably the kitchen.

This condo would be better suited for Florida. The colors/fixtures, etc. are nice but I agree with others, the permanence of everything is going to be an issue. I could live with Mickey in the corner of the kitchen counter but the floor would be a major issue. The kids' bathroom is really cute, but again, too permanent and costly to swap out as the kids get older.

It would make a really awesome WDW or DL area vacation rental. I agree it does seem really out of place where it is. I didn't notice the Mickey head doorway when I first looked at it-- that is even over the top for me!

I was also thinking that if I were looking to buy it I would want the wall prints and curtains and a lot of the other decorative items included because otherwise it wouldn't look complete.

That is awful. It would be a nice rental at the park, but other than that....eeeww.

One of my neighbors has an all-Disney house, and I mean ALL Disney. I'd post pics but hate to without their permission (I was there for their Halloween party... you're free to roam the house and check out the decor in all rooms, etc., during parties.) I know at least one of the people there works for Disney, and I believe more than 1 did at one time, as they have all kinds of memorabilia that the average Joe wouldn't be able to acquire (my personal favorite is an ENORMOUS LED display depicting the Main St. Electrical Parade that they have in a game room. I suppose it's OK to post a pic of that...)

Their yard and house both get decorated to the teeth for holidays; it's really cool to see it all take shape in the days leading up to the different holidays. And while I could never see going that far over the top with anything (their collection has to be worth millions, just judging from the sheer volume of what I saw), one touch I did like that's similar to one in the link posted is the Mickey-shaped inlays in the hardwood floor. I'm considering doing that when I finally get my carpet ripped up and get the flooring replaced. Living 10 minutes from the parks, Mickey tends to be a little more accepted here than it might be in other parts of the country. :)
